What is QB-GON?

QB-GON is the world’s most innovative grinder! It’s never-seen-before, groundbreaking mechanism along with its unique design sets new standards to grinder devices as we know them. The patented mechanism of QB-GON guarantees a flawless, smooth and effortless performance leaving you with an impeccable finish, additionally, QB-GON’s mechanism is fully interchangeable allowing for diverse new and more advanced mechanisms.

Why it's made?
Ever since grinders have been around, their design and mechanism has remained rather similar: A standard cylindrical shape with a basic teeth-driven mechanism. Attempts to re-design and innovate have been made, such as adding various compartments, altering the “grip” to make it easier to turn etc. However, there has been no real successful attempt to revolutionize the grinder, until now. We knew there were no shortcuts, we had to break the grinder down to its core, re-design and re-invent it to bring you a product like no other, one that would truly enhance the grinding experience.

MECHANISM
DSC_9272%201_zpsqvhbj4vv.jpg

The mechanical work of art that makes QB-GON is designed to mimic 6 pairs of scissors stacked on top of each other working in harmony to provide the user with a fine and evenly grinded product with minimal effort. The standards set by QB-GON render the typical grinder obsolete, its performance mediocre and even hazardous to one’s health due to debris caused by friction which is inevitable in plastic grinders.

FEATURES

  • Easy cleaning. The 2.5D blade design eradicates hard to reach areas like corners or tight gaps. Anyone experienced with a grinder knows, a well cleaned grinder ensures, a device that performs great and it is a key factor, when it comes to effort.

  • Stainless steel. The entire mechanism that forms the chamber is made of, one of the strongest metals known to man with an equally strong wear resistance and toughness over-sufficient to ensures no debris.

  • Asymmetrical patterns. The asymmetrical geometry of the blade patterns has been mechanically engineered to minimize effort and deliver an evenly processed product with minimal effort.

  • Up-gradable. For the first time ever, a design that upgrading exceeds simplicity and common sense. The unique design of QB-GON leaves enough space for different blade patterns and completely new mechanisms, achieving different results, without having to buy a new QB-GON.

DESIGN
20160428_192456_zpsnqeoqj3j.jpg

Designing QB-GON came almost naturally and it's a simply geometrical harmony of one of the most basics yet the strongest shape. The cube. Volumes are in total equilibrium and QB-GON can literally balance in one corner, making QB-GON a modern masterpiece. For quality, there have been no compromises, that's why we chose wood as a material, to give the quality only nature can truly offer.

FEATURES

  • Dual-side interaction. All parts, from the mechanism to the outer shell have no right side, you can flip any part you like and they still interact with each other, there is no right side. Just pick it and clip it.

  • Polymorphic. Thanks to the dual side interaction design, you can have more than 6 different patterns designs, just by flipping different parts of QB-GON.

  • Line-up indication. The glass is not only to expose the innovative mechanism in action, but is also a great way to track the alignment of the mechanism.

  • Changeable mesh. The most problematic area of grinders up until now is that they are standard and fixed. This problem is now foregone as our design features a replaceable part that can be easily removed for cleaning purposes or changed to fit your needs without the use of any tool.

  • Wooden body. Until now there has been no design that can combine Nature’s Finest with mechanical properties. Wood is a very difficult material with which to achieve mechanical properties and that is why we choose it, to highlight the uniqueness of our design.

  • Nontoxic Varnish. The varnish we are using is nontoxic, homemade and food grade. No more toxics and synthetics dyes on the device you treat your herbs.

They said on their FB that this won't be available til Aug but the IG campaign starts in Jun. They have production and everything else apparently set up. They may not be pulling a GH or Evoke on this one. I'm gonna stay tuned to this cause this does interest me.

Team NO SLEEP!
Am I the only one that thinks KISS is best? It is certainly innovative but I am not sold that this is an improvement over teeth grinders with regards to grind quality, durability, or efficiency.

This seems so complicated, so many pairs of spinning blades, I'm doubtful it can stay effortless to spin unless you have somehow isolated the bearings from debris... Pardon the heavy skepticism but a nice hard nug seems to always bring death to every blade-style grinder I have ever seen.

I do like the aesthetics and modular design, perhaps I can be proven wrong but I'll wait for reviews.

After extend extensive usage we had no problems with kief sticking at the bottom part, thanks to the varnish that is olive oil based. Like all wooden crafts this requires proper treatment, such as renewing the varnish.

Apart from the mechanism the wooden part that houses the grinding chamber doesn't come in contact with your material. Our blade patterns has been mechanically engineered to minimize effort, QB-GON's mechanism can grind coffee, pepper, herbs and spices with no effort. Eventually like all grinders you will have to clean every once in a while and this can be so easily done by putting the blades in the dish washing machine, boiling water or alcohol for 5 minutes.

Soon there will be more videos coming with QB-GON in action!

You didn't answer the times I asked the price on FB so I'll ask here. What's the price on this?

Also why not put something to catch the kief that doesn't need renewing or maybe safer than varnish? Say polished medical grade cup. This will be the reason I'm gonna pass on this. This doesn't sound very healthy to me.

The metallic cup is not a bad idea! Is something we can add in the future as an extra or even included on the first upgrade pack along with a completely new mechanism!

Awesome but give credit to @Hyphy
for the idea since he said it first and way to blow off my price question a third time (other 2 were on FB). Now for a 4th time, what's the price for this?

We understand everyone's excitement and anticipation, it is the same for us!
As a new company we want to be professionals, while trying to avoid mistakes other new companies might done with their crowd funding campaign. That's why we are working hard to meet our deadlines and have no delays. It is part of our timetable to release the price along with the indiegogo campaign.
Thank you for your understanding! Stay tuned for more information!

Hyphy will get a QB-GON for sure!

Can't blame you on that and applaud you for it. I'll keep an eye out for when they ship the day you buy which I think you said is sometime in Aug on FB and see some reviews before coughing up any $$$. I'll never buy or give money through indiegogo ever again. See @Hyphy you're welcome, I just saved you $$$$$

unbearably light in the being....
I confess I'm confused: if you're kicking off a fundraiser to fund your project, but with no product available for months, that's not a product release - perhaps a product announcement, but that would require finalized details, an actual price and a fixed to-market date...and some actual hands-on reviewing. It MIGHT be an elaborate pre-order scheme, it might be something else, but I won't check back in until then; I'll save my enthusiasm for my own products, kick-offs, fundraisers, etc (nothing personal - just not enough hours in the day to get invested in every coolish idea I hear, on top of everything else...).

Hence why I said I'd see them in Aug.

Give us some informative videos as soon as you can.

Product DEF looks interesting, but comercials with American generic EDM, breakdancing and BMX bikes feels a bit like some one is trying to sell me a soda. In 98.

I'm not tryig to be rude, but because this product is aiming at the high end canna connossieur market, those "teeny" comercial might scare away more potenial buyers than it lures in :)

But hey, I'm a grumpy weirdo who thinks most stoner aesthetics is pretty fugly. Scientific glass kinda guy to put it that way lol

But yeah - if this product is what I hope it is, it might really be what a lot of vaporists are looking for. Different vaporizers require different grinds, and having one grinder to rule them all would be great!
