After a couple of days I have to admit that this little guy rocks my socks off. It does remind me of the lotus wpa when I use it that way, just a button instead of a flame. I don't have a regular lotus but I would imagine it's similar, like it is to the daisy that I do have. I think that the zion will be more consistently predictable, like an ssv with the heater dial and also less battery sensitivity since it has two of them.

Looking through my glass collection, I have a couple of 18mm male/male adapters that fit on one side and not the other so I'm covered there. I just need to remember not to put them in the wrong way, and that's pretty easy using the screen a reminder. But this was my favorite discovery, a weird 14mm/18mm adapter that I never really used very much. The screen fits at the end so it's perfect for one-hitters.

So it will still heat up? Just has a bad odor and taste?

Yes! it will still heat up! just that nasty smell, though when I drag through the stem I only get a bit of the odor/taste but still... it's not that flavor town Milaana we all know and I don't want to keep inhaling those odor/smoke remnants. That and some nasty burn marks, so be careful with that button amigos! :tinfoil: (I left it unattended for 4-6 minutes when all this happened :bang: )

The Battery dropped to 2.6 and charged perfectly after it cooled down, I was quite surprised that everything survived, and that my drawer didn't catch flames (at first I thought the battery vented or something), the pouches did suffer though. And just that visual reminder of ugly burn marks and the nasty taste :ugh:, if the odor goes away I have no issue with the aesthetics. Thanks for your help! btw. is there another way to contact RBT?

saludos! :peace:

edit: regarding Milaana vs Lotus... well I've had the Lotus for 3 years, and was my only vape :luv: but after 3 year of butane, I wanted an on demand convection battery device and then is when the Milaana came in and took over my world. With the Lotus I was getting huge clouds nice flavor for 2 hits but is hard for me to low temp vape in the Lotus to keep the flavor, with the Milaana I can get 3-5 full flavor hits with decent or huge clouds and then step the temp up and extract everything. I was really loving this vape until basically I ruined it  (need to know more about those 18650s). RBT you've done it:tup:! but for now back to Lotus :sherlock:

First session with the milaana and all I can say is holy crap.

Whatever magic lies in RBT's heater tech sure does work.

Will probably upgrade to the Zion when production has got to the point where I can just buy one "off the shelf". Though for me I don't really see the need for the Zion's heat knob, I mostly want it because it's got a built in way to store the stem and some herb. Much less clumsy than carrying like 4 different pieces with this thing.

Just because of how many pieces it is, for me this is more of a "couch vape" than a true portable. At least for my use.

That said, this thing is clearly just as powerful as my logs without the inconvenience of a cord. It's fantastic.

Funny you mention this...I'm on it already...check out the Joda Glassworks thread in 2-3 weeks! Problem is he will have to cut the joints to the correct length so there will be extra labor involved. I'm not sure how big of a deal this is to him...but offered to pay for the labor and he accepted. @Mulehead Weren't you in talks with Joda about a Zion stem as well? Did anything come of it?

@ataxian Are you reading this thread and all these comparisons to the Lotus? Just thought I should call you in here cause I know how much you love your Lotus. I can't say the Mi is near as tasty as the Supreme but I can say that it has given my Supreme much needed rest over the past week. I used to rush home for my Supreme on a daily basis and use it several times throughout the evening to medicate for pain. Since I have had my Milaana, I only use my Supreme now when I really have time to take in a session at the end of the night and not every night at least not right now while I am still getting to know the Milaana.

Yeah I had JoDa make my Zi/Mi adapters and all he had was ISO joints so cut em, not ideal at all, fit great but getting a screen to stay out with that wider tapered inner diameter is a real bitch and barely fit at the very edge (I even had old RBT screens that were slightly wider than the current production ones). So just be advised!

@DDave if you can do US 18mm male to male easily then I certainly hope RBT gets back to you soon, if not PM me and I'll see what I can do... At the very least I can buy/test one for you ;)

Not sure why so many people are having trouble with using this as a portable. Pre-pack a stem and just stick it in the Milaana in ur pocket. As long as u tamp a little bit, or even do 1 low temp hit to make it stick, it'll stay put and it's all 1 unit at that point. My stem stays put really easily. Or stick the stem in a rubber band against your unit. You can even buy an extra stem and cap it, and just swap stems between seshes. Make a fanny pack for it like the arizer air. Lots of options for on the go use!

Hi guys.
I am a current (happy) e-nano user.
I need a portable vaping solution.
I am looking at the Milaana and Firewood 3.
For those that have used both: which would you recommend?

Thanks!

I am happy to say that I got my Milaana today!! I am an international customer who ordered on the first day, for those keeping score. I will try to give a more complete response to the vape once the "new toy" fun has worn off. My first impressions are that this is going to be a very enjoyable vape to use. I like the "battery powered lotus" analogy for it. I had a lotus for a while and I quite enjoyed it. I like the Milaana even better because I can already get more consistent hits and it is only day 1. I am already confident this will replace my usage of my herbalizer. What else can it replace? :)

A couple of questions for those who know:
1) Three of the batteries came with issues that I am concerned with but because I am an 18650 newb, I would rather play it safe and ask. One battery has the wrap peeling off at the top, one battery has a small nick in the wrap around the middle which exposes a small bit of battery and the third has a dent in the bottom. Anyone know if these issues are a concern or not?

2) For those that use hemp fibre in the stem, how do I know what to look for when purchasing it? I am quite enjoying using this dry, but I think I need something to filter out the particles. Does anyone know of a good place in Canada to purchase what I am looking for?

My Firewood is packed away while I get my Milaana technique down, I can't say yet if I'll keep both in the end, but if I HAD to let one go it'd be the Firewood. They have similar log-vape signatures and highs, but Firewood is slower (like 5min sessions vs 1-2min Milaana sessions), more what you'd expect from a portable, while Milaana might as well be a desktop, it's just faster and stronger.

For being slower & less powerful, the Firewood is a really nice interface with easily controllable results after you get through your learning phase. Temp stepping is easier w 4 temp levels (plus an overall device adjustment hack) and the capsule system (kinda a mini-stem plus this feature) is a bit easier to preload. Overall slimmer and more self contained.

There're other differences you might find important, they're both good vapes, clean flavor w great extraction and effects. But unless the Firewood design features really fit your use, Milaana has the edge in speed, smoothness, and power.

tldr: Milaana

I looked on the website and it says "pre sale" in the store, but obviously people have been receiving units. can someone please clarify the expected ship date if purchased now?

There isn't one. Minimal backlog now as all early pre orders have been shipped, but wholesale orders are coming in too. Probably a couple weeks give or take if your order before the sale ends on Friday, should arrive quicker than if you were to wait for planetvape and other retailers I think though (+cheaper)

Honestly it just doesn't occur to me to try taking Milaana out, because:

33mm vs 18.5

I'd actually never tried M in a jeans pocket until just now! and yeah, it's too fat for my liking. I didn't even try sitting down with it in there. It'd be much safer to carry the stem and battery in a case, but that's additional bulk.

If I carried a bag around M would probably be in it, but FW is no less satisfying to me, even though it does extract vapor slightly slower...
I still actually prefer the way FW handles microdoses without stirring!

I belie that's intended to be a bong -> Rig conversion adapter meant to hold a nail (if anyone out there was curious)

Also count me in for like 4 or 5 adapters if we can get together and buy some in bulk from china ETC or get @DDave or another FC glass blower to help us on this.

Hello again my friends!

I have for you another Milaana DIY "mod" if you even want to call it that it's so simple.

I still have the guitar pick mod because:
It's not in the way when using the Mi
It works to break the battery connection perfectly
It locks the stem from falling out.

All good things.:)

Here is another incredible use for the red vapexhale EVO silicone caps.

It fits perfectly over my button without falling off!
With the silicone cap on it takes much more effort to press the button.

I would feel 100% confident with this in my pocket, cargo pocket, or backpack (purse for the ladies!) without it pressing the button accidentally with a battery in it.
The cap fits mine pretty good and is on there tight. My button is flush with the wood.

So give this a try if you want, it works very well on mine!

:peace:

Where can you order the silicone caps?

You can put a piece of electric tape on the battery with the nick and be good to go. I would re-wrap the battery that is peeling off at the top, and I would not even consider using one that is dented.

For all those worried about accidental button presses, there is a very simple solution that doesn't require you to make or buy anything at all.

Simply remove the battery door and flip it over. It will then be resting on the battery wrap and not make electrical contact. I simply removed the washer between the thumb screw and battery door, it's not necessary for electrical connection(although it will help prevent tarnishing right there). Some batteries will have to be inserted positive end first for this to work, RBT batteries work either way.

On the topic of battery door, you will need to polish it with a copper/brass compound from time to time. It will tarnish and become a source of resistance/voltage loss if not kept clean.

He is providing screens as well. I explained how I use them in my current stems so he knows whats up. He is a stand up guy all around and I think a great option for custom stems for the Zion and Milaana.

If he had a good source for the 19/22 joint at a comparable price than I could see him selling stems like he does for the Arizer Air and Solo with no problem. That could be a perfect dream...idk

Don't get me wrong he is more than a stand up guy, I am still very happy with the stems he made me and he worked with me to get em right. He is also an amazing artist so if he can do as you describe I know I will have to get a USjointed custom kraken stem from him finally

Did you read my diary or something? Believe it or not, hes not expensive. His prices seem much less than fair market value IME.
