I'll just put it away for now and get off this tread.
Sorry to offend!

No need to go to that extreme! This thread is a great resource for anyone thinking of buying an EVO and I just wanted to let those people know that even though you're very vocal about it, the condition of your ELBs seems to be isolated and that they shouldn't pass up buying an EVO because they think the baskets are super fragile.

That's all I'm trying to say!

Like I said I love the EVO a lot.
I will have some EBLS made near by at a machine shop.
I was careful so maybe they ran out of solder?
Maybe your right?
It could be a isolated case?

I've tried contacting Vapexhale to see if i could get the deal back for 20 elbs at a discounted rate. Maybe that would help @ataxian. Maybe @stickstones could get that as one of his exclusive offers!

@Cannabis Connoisseur - do you remember what that deal was?

I'm a medical user and my ELBs are pristine, so let's go ahead and toss that first statement out the window.

I feel like maybe you're a very isolated case with these ELBs... while lots of people have issues with them not fitting properly or having seems come apart, the pics you posted showed them absolutely destroyed.

And you keep repeating the same sentiment over and over, like a deterrent for people to think twice about getting an EVO. I don't think that's fair to Vapexhale. If at least one other person was having the same issue, that'd be one thing. But nobody else is, it's an isolated incident.

It just seems like perhaps you're a bit rougher on your items than the average user? If you have the plans and means to make yourself more durable ELBs, do it! And I bet people on here might even be interested in buying them...

So let me state this clearly for any potential EVO purchasers who may have been put off by your ELB comments/pictures - yes, they are somewhat fragile, yes they have had some quality control issues with them lately, but the problems @ataxian has had are isolated incidents and with regular daily use, you should NOT expect ELB destruction like those posts/pics depict.

Please use some sensitivity. It's not ataxian's fault he was born as a robot made to bend things! He doesn't have real fingers like we do!

I don't it was like one of the first deals they ever had for the EVO. I paid $675 for my set-up so that was the only deal at the time. The EVO came with 4 elbs and if you put in the special FC code you got a extra 16 elbs. It was wayyyyyyy back in this thread.

I'm with you. I can't see all the problems with the ELB's I've read about recently. I have 10 now (had 6 until the 4/20 sale!) and the biggest issues I have had with them is the top not being snug enough (easily fixed) or the ELB itself not being snug enough (also easily fixed.) The pulverized ELB's just were what I would imagine an angry wolverine or something doing to them. Normal usage just seems to not be something that results in them looking chewed.

My silicone tube that came with the glass adapter is smelly after some use. Seems kind of a pain to clean with ISO.

Where are you guys purchasing new tubes? Hoping it's something I can grab from a place like Lowe's?

What do I have to keep in mind with regards to safety? Does it need to be a certain type of silicone?

EDIT: BTW, update on my issue if anyone was following - received my new, replacement EVO along with 2 complementary ELB's last Friday. So far, so good.

Medical grade silicone tubing is washable with high percentage rubbing alcohol and salt. It can become almost perfect once again by putting a little hot water, rubbing alcohol (91%) and kosher salt into the whip, holding your thumb on both end and moving the liquid from end to end. It works like a charm. Not looking to argue about silicone reusage as I know there are disagreements but @pakalolo has written on the subject and it's A-OK. At Loew and Home Depot you can find PVC tubing, which I think is probably okay for most vaporizer usage but not really recommendable because of lower temp ratings and the possibility of unsafe leeching. I have had OK experiences with it but definitely just wash your silicone and grab some new stuff from 7th floor when you need it, they sell awesome whip tubing.

I looked into this earlier. You should probably use high temperature silicone tubing. I posted the ID and OD that vapexhale uses for the tubing earlier within this thread.

Also for those that have had their evos repaired (bamboo or other) have you noticed any change in performance upon its return?

Do any of you fine folks soak your elb's in Grunge Off? I use it after each session with my hydrabomb, but I wasn't sure it was safe for the elb's. I always use ISO but there are still dark stains on the bottom of the screens.
Thanks!

Love the Evo , gotta say I been using the Volcano strictly for a few days and it just doesn't pack the punch my Evo gives me , so last night while hitting the Evo I blew a few bags on the Volcano for a appetizer and the both together was a perfect mix.

I can send you one of mine until then if you need me to @ataxian ? They are a little small but I have 4, well 3 left since I destroyed one of mine too but I had to try really hard! I was trying to smash one to make it fit tight in the EVO and I mutilated one also, but I had to try pretty hard to do so.

They also sent a pack of the larger ELBs. I think they specifically picked the BIGGEST ones out of the bin because these fit so snug! in fact I won’t use one of them because it feels like I’m going to rip the bamboo out if I take the elb out. These can definitely be used inverted. Not complaining, I really appreciate the fact they sent me more when I told them it wasn't even necessary, Thanks VapeXhale

Oh, and the Hydrabomb I ended up getting is nice! perc pulls well, it's straight, no water in my mouth,. The joint to the side arm could be cleaner but other than that it's really nice! MUCH BETTER! Plus they moved back to the etched logo, thank god.

OK, Dabs through this thing have ridiculously good flavor. Even better than an e-nail. I'm impressed.

YAY, I LOVE MY EVO

Here's the new bomb, pretty sweet :)

Thank's for the offer!
I think people have the wrong Ideal if what I'm saying?

The EVO device I love very much.
I'm very careful with my ELB'S and NAIL's.

I like adapters to be unbreakable.
Carpet is dirty and very gross to me.
I will make unbreakable accessories instead of replacing LIME STONE floors (upstairs and downstairs)
I have other vaporizer's to medicate with.
The EVO is powerful and the NAIL's are a great ideal.
TI2 would be my material of choice.

I am kind of like an inventor so it will be fun to customize my rig!
Image choices?

Recreational or Medical?

Haven't checked in in quite a while. Anybody ever try to make glass ELBs? I used the search feature on this thread but didn't see anything.

JUST SAYIN' it'd be cool if they existed and could work somehow. :D
It was talked about early on but no, never happened. The ambient heat is massive down inside the Evo bamboo which is why the stainless steel mesh is crucial to avoid conduction.

If you put dry material in a HOT glass ELB, you best get ready for combustion.

Bummer. Lower dial settings might work but yeah.. probable combustion at higher dial settings.

Wait wait wait. What is the easy fix to make the top snug enough? I've had the most issues with that problem. If you could help that would be fantastic.

Stick the end of a pen or sharpie into the lid to widen it just enough so that it has a slightly snugger fit.

I found it easier to just slightly dent it a bit. Push the bottom into a tabletop just a bit (barely noticeable.) It doesn't take much to make a huge difference.

Got my "repaired" EVO today. (I say "repaired" because it's a new EVO with the serial number sticker moved to it.)

Can't hardly wait to get home!
