@Shit Snacks -

Here is my latest 18mm GonG tube. I fused a 13mm plain end tube to an 18mm GonG fitting. Have been wanting to make them for a while now. Surprised how well it worked considering I don't have a glass turning lathe. They were made on my metal turning lathe. I'm planning to charge $15 for them. Will work on all the brands of log style vaporizers.

I came home to a wonderful surprise today!

A whole lot of stuff in a little tiny box.

Here are my new bamboo HIs! I got a glass and a SS core and a bunch of stuff to keep me busy all night!
I also got a vvps with a little bamboo adjustment knob, some cork slide-a-bowls, a bamboo claisen....

In the center is @Alan s new 18mm roasting tube with an 18mm cork seal to use with my HIs, Milaana, or (when I get it) Zion!

You rock @Alan!

Keep up the great work! And I'm off.......

Awesome stuff, great choices Doc!

Be careful with the Milaana stem btw, I tested mine for a bowl so far and you just need to be careful that the center tube doesnt hang too low to risk poking out the heater screen... I need to post photos of what i mean in that thread when I try again, it is certainly a nice option to experiment with and may be able to be improved upon.

I forgot to mention the skewer tools that came with my HIbrid as well, they're extremely useful and precise for working with the screens, perfect. Along with other extras its such a great package.

Enjoy as I know you will

come on @Vape Dr. ! you're just silently sitting on that fortune not saying a peep and it's driving me crazy!
@Vape Dr. is a "TRUST FUNDER" that is not why we are here!

I know one because I grew up with plenty of them.

However what about CANNABIS?

Image a "HI" full of GIRL SCOUT COOKIES?
I'm glad CANNABIS is cheap and getting cheaper!

VAPE DR. will not have a problem keeping his vaporizer full!
Or should of I said, "VAPORIZERS"?

420 should be celebrated everyday as long as we can?

In my opinion the bamboo makes no real difference. beside it is lighter in my opinion, it needs not as much work as wood and bamboo is not as expensive as wood therefore cheaper...I think...

what makes it special in my opinion is the option to choose a "glass hybride HEATER" which should be better for taste... but you can order the HEATER also with every other wood like normal logs...
but as far as I understood you have to operate this heater with your vvps with higher voltage then using the Stainless steel HEATER to get the same size of clouds...

hopefully I will get my order from HI very soon so I can also contribute my own experience with the HIs

However one day I'll try a BAMBOO!
Is it the WOOD or the HEATER that makes it special?

I love my figured walnut HI and wouldn't trade it for any other wood type so it's special to me, but if you like Bamboo more that may be special to you.

I believe what makes the HI itself So Special is the superb Craftsmanship of it's build and amazing performance whichever heater style you choose.

It's One of the most incredible and enjoyable ways I've found to medicate with our favorite Herbs.

@Vital - Thanks for the kind words.

@Orestes - Hope it arrives safely and you have fun trying the different tubes.

@Vape Dr. - Thanks for posting the photos. Can't wait to hear how you like all the different roasting options. Hope they all work well for you.

@Shit Snacks - Hope you got a chance to try out the roasting tube with your Zion / Milaana. Glad you are liking the skewer tools. It is a challenge to get those sewing needles stuck into the bamboo skewer, but they sure work great for picking the screens clean.

Don't sleep on @Ratchett new screen press, it can save you lots of money as well as time and pain for those diy'ers!

The new screen press looks really nice. Great way to make your own screens if you go through a lot of them. If you are likely to use more than 80 screens, then it could be worth it. We sell the basket screens for $0.50 each. The new screen press plus 55 (enough to make 80 total) more screens cost around $40. You can get 80 screens from us for $40 and there is no work required on your part to make them. If you can make a screen every minute, it would take an hour and 20 minutes to make those 80 screens.
With my new method of using stacked screens, I never need to clean screens. I have been using the same two screens for the last two months and they are still very clean. They will probably last me for another few years.

@btka - You are correct. It takes me much less effort to make a bamboo HI so I can sell them for less. Hopefully more people can enjoy them that way. The smaller amount of extraction you get from the glass heater cover isn't that much less than from a stainless steel heater cover. The stainless steel heater cover just does it faster.

So nice of you to say @RUDE BOY . Glad it is still working well for you.

I was curious because it's seem that CANNABIS will be legal federally by the end of this year!
So the mainstream public will use CANNABIS to relax.
The VAPORIZER companies will have to compete with large corporations?
If the heater is providing the function the casing does not matter.
If there is acceptance in the general population for CANNABIS vaporizers will become like a household appliance. $30 price range being the new price the cover will be less expensive.
However there will exist collectors for custom covers.

Consumers of the masses care more about affordable.
CANNABIS will be $38/OZ this will also accelerate change.

VAPORIZES will be uglier however function will be the driver!

I don't understand?

Should I sell my DBV?
Sometime I use it.

However one day I'll try a BAMBOO!
Is it the WOOD or the HEATER that makes it special?

It's preference I guess, I've owned logs and tops in the past and prefer them to basically any vaporizer. The bamboo is just the fun tropical budget version of a top. Though different materials conduct heat differently of course.

It's more a question of Log vape > DBV, to me.

My personal vaping needs are just best met with a good log/top. I'm hitting the DBV directly from the glass roasting tube, holding the unit up to my face for every puff. I don't like plastic tubing. So in my particular case (though honestly who really prefers plastic tubing to direct glass inhalation?) the DBV is superfluous to need, or will be once my bamboo unit arrives.

Quick question: with hybrid heater is it still possible to use metallic stem? As good/same way as with ss heater?

Nope, Alan told me glass core HIbrid can only use glass stems. I'll try a twist-a-bowl in a standard core some day in the future...

Fudge! I think I made a mistake: metallic stem with its fast full extraction (mix of convection/conduction/radiation) is the feature I love the most-instant cloud.
I guess I have to order a standard core in addiction to my hybrid one. Thank you for your fast answer

Sure, but glass core can do some fast full extraction of its own too, can't go wrong with both though!

I agree with you, I just received it today and its all good indeed!

It runs colder than ss version but at 12,5 it is hot enough for me and taste is very pure

Also I tried @Alan roasting method, the sandwich with double screen: I love it, it seems it allows for an even roast without stirring. On top of it there is no blow back mess when using it with WT

And I am getting my regular wood HI in few months now... glad to see Alan went through human clonation and it was a success
