Just so Dab HAppy!
Can't wait! My ESV is down for the count till Joe gets back from Europe. I know this ain't the same, but I do miss me some convection without the cord!
I am in the same boat. My ESV started showing a lack in battery life about 3 weeks ago. I have been using the Firewood since but both the ESV and FW3 leave me wanting a goddamn button. Flow sensors are cool, but they suck when they don't work and you just get warm or cool air and run out of breath.

Edit: I just hope the Mi tastes nearly as good as the ESV. I need a portable that gives me flavor and effect!

Hey guys, some quick questions for y'all, super interested in this vape, may pull the trigger once i have some extra funds next week.

First of all,
-what parts of the device get dirty? what constitutes a full cleaning?

-How easy is it to combust?
I have previously owned a firefly and currently own a FW3.0, so i am not a stranger to manual vapes, however i did combust twice in the firefly over the course of two or three months, and it seemed super inconsistent and finicky to me, like it would go from wispy vapor to combustion almost instantly. Hence why i no longer possess one. I have yet to combust in the Firewood 3 after a good 6 months or so of use every day and would consider myself having mastered the heating cycle. I just don't want to have another firefly experience where it takes a lot of work to get a decent vape session, with the looming possibility of combustion.

-is stirring required?
i see people recommending it here? How uneven is the vape?

-what kind of charger is included?

lastly
-how does the vapor quality compare to a log like the enano?

Thanks so much in advance. Hopeful to share in the revelry soon!
:peace:

I'd say it is very easy to avoid combustion, especially if you understand the variables of pack battery level trigger and draw. I passed around vapor novices and most bad no trouble gripping and ripping huge clouds without combustion (cleaning is simple, just the glass stem). Stirring is a preferrence depending on taste and pack, with proper technique it can be avoided entirely. I am not sure if any pre orders will come with a charger, but nitecores are in the store, and I believe retail kits will come with an i2 or d2... As far as vapor quality, yes it is very similar to a log, steel glass and wood

How many international orders here have been received from RBT? Must be close now.

Yes RBT just told me he thinks he should now be done shipping all domestic pre orders, and that there are 24 international to go, so shouldnt be long now, maybe this week

I wasn't even aware it is in the pre-order phase somehow. That means there is some sort of shipping delay i assume. What is the average wait time like?

Edit: nevermind... assuming relatively fast shipping if he is caught up on orders. sorry.

Whoa, that's amazing! Do you think that holds true for people who ordered as late as last week, or do we not qualify as pre-orders?

So great to see all these positive responses, I really can't contain my excitement for this thing!

Yes ordering through the RBT store is technically still in pre order but almost out, it will remain on sale there til May 12th-ish I believe, then it will only be available from PlanetVape, some other line store, I think puffitup at some point, a few headshops in NE/NY and any headshops people get to order them wholesale from the RBT store.

@tblast I am not sure, I don't think there have been many orders this late, they may have been fulfilled in the batch that went out today, or maybe after Intntl, just guessing

I'm a proud owner of a new Milaana...loving and learning! I have more tweaking to do on my technique but I'm really enjoying the airflow and general feel. I admit to complete perplexity when it comes to batteries, chargers, mah's, fast drain, slow drain, etc. I'm trying but I just don't think I'm wired that way...Can some kind soul confirm that the basic type of batter I'm looking for (I"ve gleaned that it's a LGE418650 and that it should be 3.7 volts. (Not sure about the mah thing nor the fast/slow discharge thing.) Plus not sure all batteries of the same specs are created equally...if some brands are better than others. I take it that a NitecoreD2 should work. Again I don't know whether chargers are generally created equally - any other suggestions for chargers? How about battery monitors that tell you what charge you have left. I'll continue to try to learn on my own and to cram it into my head but I think it's above my paygrade at the current time and it's like reading ancient Ugaritic. I just want to get a couple of replacements. Thanks so much for your thoughts!!

Lghe4, 2500 mah 20A high discharge. The D2 will work fine.
Some brands are better than others, stick to authentic and 20A.

I'm the combustion queen and so far the Milaana has escaped. The flavor on the Milaana is so clear that I can tell when it starts to taste a bit burnt. I'd like to know how to avoid stirring.

Hey....just was on the PlanetVape site and found this.....

http://www.planetvape.ca/vaporizers/rasta-buddha-tao/

It shows that they don't have stock but the pricing is already up.....although it says that is also subject to change.....probably depending on our $CAD I am guessing.

PV also has links to IAmKrazy2's YouTube videos on their site pages for a reviewed demonstration of the two units.

Just thought that I would mention it......and I'm sure that once PV gets their hands on the vape that they will probably cook up some aftermarket glass that would mate well with the Zion or Milaana

I'm guessing the only way to minimize stirring is with shorter pulses on the heater with controlled breath as to not pull so much hot air through a highly focused pinhole.

Just a guess though

Woahhh! Glad I pre-ordered, wouldn't be getting one at that price, considering exchange rate and shipping.

Smaller loads also will get you closer to no stirring.
However I still like to try and take a small thin object like a poker and pull the load from the outside in. In other words run the poker all around the edge the tamp the load back down a bit. I know this isn't your answer but this gives me full extraction with a little stir towards the end.
When I'm home I do small loads that I dump quicker. On the road I'll load bigger stems that I can get a lot more hits less loading.

You must be married too!

So my wifey doesn't partake, however when she sees me keeping up with the kids and not letting vape time get in the way I am sure she will welcome my new favorite girl to the family! I am often tied to the garage due to the robust look of my favorite butane vapes which was fine in the winter but the kiddos want to play outside everyday now. The Milaana should help me be more mobile! And she will be here tomorrow!

No email confirmation, however I have had contact with RBT since and verified my address did not change so I hope I am just an exception and everyone else will get theirs. I just randomly recieved a shipping notification with tracking this morning!

I will check if I can see any other shipments going out later today.

Edit: on my phone now but I checked and 6 more shipping labels have been created and shipped out. One of those is mine. One each went to VT, WA, CO, AK and TX.
Hola FC:
Jajajaja I can't believe all this time you never had a Milaana. Enjoy it tomorrow

I added a thinner SS screen inside the basket. I prefer a not so open airflow . In my opinion too much airflow in my case, rosin buds, don't get me the results I need.
I'm happy I got the Milanesa on the sale price...

I've been reading a lot of portable threads lately, and IMO stealth, it's getting everyday a thing of the past.
Come on people, weed is here to stay, unless we get another NIXON jajajaja
First of all, unless you're driving, getting caught with weed, possession, now at least on the west coast and many medical/ recreational way states it's like nothing.Unless you're under 21.
The Grasshopper, with all the fanciness and bla bla bla still needs an awful silicone condom in your mouth to keep yourself from burning. IMO it takes all the beauty of the pen as it was.
FF2 and Crafty looks nice too but you need to have a phone to work with it, bummer, phone battery plus FF2/Crafty battery, too much complicated. My iPhone6S barely goes through the day with calls, web and texts to keep the battery on, add an extra app for vaping, no no no. imagine on the go in the woods, or all day on the road working, phone dies, you're stuck with just a preset temp, no no no...

@Shit Snacks Thanks brother! Excited to hear about international shipments... Might be a good week. Have any of them been shipped out yet? Or is this the initial international batch? Curious if he will send em out chronologically this time.. :)

Thanks, AJ5! Much appreciated! Is there a difference in efficacy between 3.6 and 3.7volt?

PlanetVape prices are in Canadian dollars, so the US dollar price is $190. The most significant thing about the PlanetVape listing is that it means international sales.

Well I was playing with my Apollo....but I think that the reason I didn't see it a page before is because @little maggie had actually posted that info on the Zion page.....which I checked after going back and not finding it here.

Hey wait a minute......you have an Apollo too..... : )

The stem collects resin and particles. It can be swabbed or soaked in alcohol, hot cocoa, PBW, etc.
The occasional crumb that falls onto the heater screen is easily removed with a shake, brush, or puff of air.

Mine has not combusted yet, with a few different people having used it. It doesn't really seem like much of a risk; the heat climbs quickly but then I think slows down nicely, so it's very controllable. With the short stem you can probably (hopefully) tell before you go too far.

I've been stirring once or twice per bowl, but still hoping to get the parameters honed in to eliminate that need.

No charger is included with the base package. I've been using my Haze battery charger but just ordered an XTAR VC4.

I haven't really used my Nano since getting the FW, but M's vapor is probably superior! It's pretty incredible :D
I'd love to hear some ideas on reducing the bowl/basket size and avoiding the need to stir though... those are two aspects where my FW still works better for me.

It's similar to the 18mm or 19mm "difference" for glass, in that there isn't any. 18650s are either 3.7V (uncommonly, 3.6v) or 3.2V. The latter are LiFePO4 batteries, which aren't up to the job of powering the Milaana.

As far as getting to a point of no stirring, it is indeed related to pack and trigger useage, all I can really say is keep experimenting with grinds amounts and screens, like I said mine are always basket style now right up against the joint (just around a cm deep), if you load just enough to cover the screen it should not need to be stirred bc it is a thin layer but you need to adjust technique to get the most out of it. A larger bowl may also get away without stirring, but taste will suffer, that is the biggest reason i stir, hearing will usually be more even this way. With Zion the power knob actually helps you get away without stirring easier with the knob set relatively low. Since Milaana can run hotter depending on battery and trigger useage, this is where technique comes in to truly avoid stirring along with pack. So try different things and see what you get, hard to lay out a step by step foolproof system, but it is possible. :2c:
