The Grasshopper Shipping Poll

For those who ordered from vapefiend overseas (I'm in Canada), how long was your unit's transit time? I'm 8 days in and no shipment tracking updates for a week. I'm wondering if the tracking carries over once the package is in custody of Canada post. Or maybe it's coming over on a boat or something... Just really want my grasshopper! Ha ha

I hope next week shows some post with people receiving their hoppers, last week it seamed to be from middle Des 2014 to 21 of Jan 2015, I wish they could send out weekly or bi weekly batches of 1000-2000 hoppers so the line would chuck along until current time period

work 90% outside and vape 100% of the time so I am dying for a new portable unit to have with me out in the fields and forest

how long does it take normally from reciving adress confirmation until reciving tracking number... any experience?

From three days to three weeks depending on HL.

Waiting on this months update from HL, I bet they will say there were more unseen delays and shipping will be pushed back again. I dont think I will get my hopper this year.

yeah I think its really fucking shitty off them not to send out update last month, last week I even emailed customer service asking if they could post detailed update every month, just to give us some "bread" to go on while we wait, super annoying to both have to wait AND speculate why we are waiting at the same time, but I got no answer from Hopper lab and now May has rolled in so I am not expecting them to answer either me or the community until with their "forced by community May update in start of June" :/

I got the
"Grasshopper Pre-order - April Shipping Update"
in email on April 13th.

At the bottom it said,
"You received this message because you are subscribed to the Grasshopper Pre-order"

And my esd was changed twice during April!

This has been quite enough communication for me (though I do so look fwd to the next installment in the Never Ending Story); I hope now they can keep noses to the grindstone and crank out some effin' Grasshoppers.

Same here. Got mine on the 13th. You guys either gotta update your subscription info with GHL or stop hittin' your other vapes so hard when checking your email.

I just checked Grasshopper and I am on their mailing list but not gotten any update

I saw an post from them 4 weeks ago that was on Reddit and that was addressed to the month before and pretty sure it came out 1 of April

Maybe GHL is so hard putting together hoppers they don't have time for an update? It seems like we are seeing more hoppers in the hands of FCers.

April Shipping Update


Hey Everyone,

We have an April shipping update to provide some numbers on where we are and how long it will take to get your unit. Shipping dates have been caught in a cycle of being regularly pushed back due to a series of unforeseen events. In the past this has delayed production far beyond what we planned for. It is our fault for not building in more time to the estimations and this is a direct effort to correct that.

Due to the track record of unpredictability from our own manufacturers and slow downs for necessary design improvements, we will be implementing a revised way of creating shipping estimations. In the past we have estimated delivery on production capacity and not added additional time for potential problems. Revised estimations will have a significant buffer, with the goal of providing a more accurate picture of when your unit will be delivered.

There are currently ~5200 delayed orders. Hopper Labs today has the assembly capacity of 550 units per/week. This is increasing with the addition of new machines and assembly techs, but we will not include those speed increases in our new estimations. If things were to move smoothly, the backlog of orders would be clear in just 9.5 weeks. Instead we will be spreading the estimated delivery dates over the next 16 weeks. The estimated delivery date on your specific order will be updated through the website in the next few days.

In a further effort to keep potential delays to an absolute minimum, you will no longer be able to add any additional units to your existing order. We originally viewed this as a perk to having patiently waited, but we understand how this is unfair to others in line. If you want to order additional units you will need to place a new order and wait at the end of the line. You can still add accessories at anytime and they will be shipped with your order.

Please note there are a number of people who placed large orders during and just after the end of our crowdfunding campaign. We are fulfilling these orders as they arrive in the shipping queue, like any other order.

Hopper Labs is doing well and growing to meet the demands of customers. The quality of the products we create is very important to us and the Grasshopper reflects this. Below is a short video shot a long time ago but never shared.

40,000 at 500 week = 80 weeks = 20 months. They haven't been fulfilling orders for 20 months, so how did you come up with 40,000 in the wild? It's simply ludicrous to say there are 40,000 Hoppers out there.

April was super successful. The recent updates to everyone’s shipping estimates have been on target. Orders that were currently estimated to ship in April have all been sent address confirmation emails. We have even gotten a head start on orders that are currently estimated to ship in May. About 100 orders that are estimated to ship in May have already been sent! We are working very hard to stay on top of our shipping schedule and meet our current shipping estimates. We sincerely thank you all for hanging in there with us as we do so.

As some of you have requested to see footage of the new equipment, we have included a video of our pick & place machine. This machine can process 8500 components per-hour, pulling them from tape and placing them onto printed circuit boards. We’ve been running the machine 12 hours per-day to keep production rolling.



Many of you have been asking how you can view your shipping estimates. This is best accessed from your account on GHVape.com. We recommend using a computer to log in to your account and select your order status from the “Account” drop down menu. As always, if you have trouble with this, you can email us at support@grasshoppervape.com.

The new warranty system is online now. Anyone who needs warranty service will have to register their device on their GHVape.com account. Indiegogo backers have been automatically registered. For pre-orders that are registering their Grasshopper, you will need your Warranty ID Code from the back of your black Grasshopper box and the serial number from the top of your Grasshopper. All serial numbers start with GS or GT for either Stainless Steel or Titanium units. Again, if you have any trouble with this, email Caroline at support@grasshoppervape.com. Please note that any original parts that have been replaced need to be returned to us in order to receive future warranty service.

I know there was a huge gap in preorders at some point because HL opened preorders to invites, then didn't have them for a while. Does anyone know the dates for the no-preorder period?

I lived in beautiful eastern Pennsylvania for some years. One of my favorite activities was the free tour of the Martin guitar factory. I longed to be the guy at the end who test-plays all of them. Maybe a position like this will open up at HL?

Mine was pushed AGAIN, now to June. What a freakin joke. Been 6 months now - placed my order in early Dec.

@upinsmoke I consider you lucky with a shipping estimate of June. Some of us here myself included have waited far longer. I preordered on Feb 12th 2015 with an original ship date of April 2015 and I am still waiting, that will be a year and 3 months for me on the 12th May. I'm hoping my shipping confirmation will come by end of week judging from the info provided in HL's update today.

Things seem to be picking up at HL with all the shipping confirmations for April complete so I hope yours arrives in June.

@Ratchett had said that GHL had sold over 40,000. There are 40,000 orders out there. @WhyAreWeWaiting Not that that there were 40,000 Hoppers out there in circulation.

adress confirmation and shipping are two different things in my opinion? when they ship you are getting a tracking number? until now I only got adress confirmation, but someone wrote that caroline stated that it takes roughly a week between adress conf. and shipping (tracking) and that they will ship next monday maybe.... (if you got your adress conf. last friday....

Good to hear they completed April orders because I am slotted for May!

Feb 8, 2015 order placer here, I'm with ya But I ain't holding my breath on May. If we're lucky June.

Some may call me a pessimist. But I disagree. I sounded just like upinsmoke, very optimistic. It just happened to be in Aug of last year.

I remember me telling a friend back then, "I'll have it by November (2015), I have no doubt at all". Boy, what a fool I was.

I don't receive the updates either. I am a Dec 2015 pre-order. I am subscribed to the updates and check my spam and junk boxes but haven't received anything but my account creation and order confirmation.

I have a may estimate for a June 5th order. Honestly not to confident I'll have mine in May. Hoping for June, realist in me says July, pessimist in me says September. Would be awesome to get it in May though

I saw on Reddit that someone's Dec 2014 Dark Grey Ti preorder just got address confirmation. I was under the impression that they were mostly through Jan '15 preorders, so I find that a bit disturbing, especially since I'm waiting on a dark grey myself...

@EdE80 The only address confirmation I can see on reddit of late was posted 2 days ago (unless I missed something) for a grey Ti. The HL update was only sent out yesterday. The person posting with a Dec 2014 preorder probably had a April delivery/confirmation estimate so this all ties in nicely with what HL mentioned "Orders that were currently estimated to ship in April have all been sent address confirmation emails" I dont see the issue you mention as the update didn't mention when those preorders were actually placed.
