Are people getting their 420 orders yet? I don't want to bother George if I don't have to..

Does anyone know when 420 orders will ship? Or was 420 orders preorders?
Even in the month leading up to 4/20, orders were slow to get out due to overwhelming demand. I'd imagine George and crew are working their butts off to get what is likely an insane amount of product out the door as fast as humanly possible.

I got my 420 order

My new og clicks twice and the cap doesn't completely cover the tempered glass or frosted or whatever on the tip. It gives one very light click than shortly after a little louder click is this normal? Also sometimes I get super thick vapor others I get what I feel is smoke or on the very verge no ash yet but the blackest abv I've ever seen, and a taste very close to smoke. I'm enjoying it and have had it about 4 days with non stop abuse on it this far just wondering if maybe my cap is a tad flawed?

My cap (on Ti woody) has the same faint click before the main one.
I assumed they were all like this (?).

I've followed the advice posted here in this thread in order to control temperature.

I find that temp control is more precise with my single torch lighter than the quad.

Nearer the closed end of the cap for low temp's, nearer the open end for higher temp's

My own default temp is found by heating between the N & the A of the Dynavap logo.

I'm gonna get a dual jet torch as I predict that will be a good balance between precision and speed.

@420democrat that all sounds normal.

EDIT. Just ran a bowl to be sure and yep it all sounds about right. Sometimes I don't get two clicks so I err on the side of and stop at the first one and quite often the second one occurs after I've remove the flame.

@Copacetic I have a new twin jet and it's fine, will do some side by sides and see how much of a difference there is between it and my triple. I gave my single away to a friend who I got a Glassy for.

Combusted hard today on a piece of hash and my VapCap needs an intense cleaning. Didn't wait for the cooldown click and gave fire until smoke escaped from the cap ending.
My first reaction was to blow through instead of pulling to protect the wood from the smoke, that led to a gunky and stinky cap. :(
Will soak the TI tip and condenser in alcohol over night but I couldn't find any cleaning tipps for the cap itself, can it also be soaked or does it need a special treatment?

@horst

Honestly, when you get the tip cleaned and run a fresh green load, she'll taste good. I don't find the cap keeps any taste because it gets heated all the time.

If not, I've pinched the digger with tweezers and torched the inside, it clicks quick so let off as soon as it does.

Also anyone wondering what to use to pop the retainer ring and ceramic screen out. A q-tip work perfectly, just cover the opening with your finger so the retainer ring doesn't fly out. A set of allen keys will work to push the retainer back in.

This is a lot like the MFLB where if you do combust, a quick iso rub is all that's necessary. I've never had to clean my wood as the wood taste is more overwhelming and soon as you get a fresh load in the tip that's all you taste.

** I do rinse my stuff, just wanted to make that clear, like the tip and condenser. NOT ENTIRELY LIKE THE MFLB **

I soaked my cap in iso 2xs now I have just been dropping it in a soar tube over night with iso o rings tip and all haven't seen it effect my cap in any way what's so ever besides cleaning it most important thing is to give it a few good rinse with water and let thoroughly dry and good as new

According to George there's less than a 1% failure rate for the caps and I know there have been some in use daily for 6+ months. I've ordered a replacement just in case but I don't imagine I'll need to use it.

The only cleaning I do is running a piece of iso covered cotton through the condenser tube. My screen broke, and lately i've been finding I enjoy it a lot without a screen. I haven't even gotten around to cutting a new screen since I don't find myself missing it.

So essentially the vapcap is a preorder. Its funny that it does not mention shipping delays until you checkout.

Come on George, work your magic. The community wants your vapcaps.:tup::leaf:

I wouldn't call it a preorder. Maybe a bit of a backorder. George is pretty quick, but this ain't amazon!

I find dual jet to be best, but use it, single and triple. Single gives nice heating, especially if you're trying to stay out on the end, but takes longer.

@Copacetic @phattpiggie
Ok thank you. So am I combusting sometimes or just dancing on the edge? I've had no ash yet. Glad to hear it's normal this thing is suprisingly smooth and suprisingly potent. I'm a big fan, gonna have to try a nicer model than the og soon

Ti/Woody is definitely worth the plunge!

does sticking the cap to a magnet shorten the time to the cool down click?

It's just good to keep in mind that when you do torch it back up to torch a little higher on the cap than you did the first time so you don't char. The cap cools down but the tip is still at temp. Torching the cap again puts it in the real high temp range.

I kinda have this technique down now. Basically when the vapor becomes very whispy during the first cycle, I stick it on the magnet of my DS it clicks within seconds then torch it right away, making sure I don't go past the click at all. Best tasting, and I get very thick hits.

I was a 420 order & mine shipped last week.
Nothing like waiting for a gh; no 1 year wait thankfully (I know the anticipation is supposed to make the end product more desirable but c'mon ghl) :p.
I can't wait to try my new toys. Can anyone chime in on any beginner and advanced tips/techniques for me and all the other newbie vapcap initiates. I wanna be prep'd and ready with forsight into using my goodies to the best of their (and my) best abilities. Thanks in advance :)

Just remember Don't reheat until after you hear the cool-down clicks and your golden to experiment combustion free with your vapcap to your hearts content, Best tip I can think of for the first time VC user.

All the rest like to use the hole as a carb(i don't) what grind (if any) you use or what torch you use or where you heat on the cap are all personal preferences that to me makes learning how i wanna use my new vape more fun.

Combustion in a new vape sucks but I've found it impossible to burn a load in the vapcap if I make sure to not hit it with the torch until I hear those clicks to tell me it's cooled down below it's coolest vaping temp.

:peace: ... :2c:
