I tried my Milaana yesterday. Still don't understand nor do I think I need to understand- hopefully- what the unregulated is all about. I could not get the screens in the stems so will have to look through my screen stash to see if I can find one.

However, this is truly the easiest vape I've owned and I have VAS for simple vapes. Not to offend anyone here but it reminds me of a high tech MFLB. Only easier. Tried it dry and with water and worked well with both and it took quite a while before the ABV turned brown. It was easy to tell when it was darkening because the flavor was so clear that the change in taste was apparent. I can't always tell with some of my vapes.
Did I say easy?

Actually, it sounds like you understand the unregulated thing just fine; unregulated means you need to control it (and that it will be hotter when battery is fresh, weaker when it's dying), and it sounds like you're doing a great job. That's exactly how I felt with the Zion; packed it, put in batteries, and I was vaping. Didn't read any technique crap, I was just using it with no issues off the bat.

For the 18mm screens, I recommend the fatter end of some chopsticks or an unsharpened pencil.

I totally agree, I get the MFLB vibe while using it. like you said much easier to use. I also found it almost difficult to get dark charring like I've seen others post. Maybe if i move the screen closer I would get that, but I kind of prefer the screen where its at. I've seen some people move their screen to the very tip of the stem, I can see how that might make charring much easier, but also makes high temp draws easier too! Either way I love it all!

So has anyone attempted staining their Milaana yet? I am interested to try it, maybe I will give it a go and see what happens :)

Im making some au natural dark stain from coffee grounds, I've done something similar on a gunstock but I'm trying something a little different this time. The stain should be ready in the next day or so, MI's set to arrive today.

My stain won't stink, but the BLO (100% natural boiled linseed oil) I seal it with will smell for a day or two. I prefer BLO to beeswax tenfold smell aside, far more resilient finish and maintains more of a sheen than the satin look wax tends to offer.
In early adaptations of the Zion (2x4 units) an all natural soy based stain was used (TimberSoy sp.?). Not many people that tried it enjoyed it as even after curing it had an odor. I am assuming regular stains would be even worse? Try it? Maybe it can be sanded off if you don't like it. Also not sure what, if any mods would impact the warranty.
If it impacts the warranty he should establish that on his .com or in writing included with the units themselves. We shouldn't be left to guess warranty specifics... especially now that there's so many units out.:doh::doh:

Mine arrives today, tornadoes tore up the job site I'm on last night so were pulled off till tomorrow while they clean up and assess damages. Not sure if this was a blessing or a cruel form of torture, certainly makes the wait seem longer! Batteries charged, meds ready....

But I like it!
Try rubbing a piece of walnut on the walnut wood. Loads of oil in the nut. You can also use it on dings in hardwood flooring and furniture. I dunno why I didn't recall this... Other than we've been camping for 2 years and I've not really worried about fixing hardwood and stuff...

Awesome news!

Hopefully my sexy little Eastern European mail order "hot thang" will be making her trip to Toronto soon.....also good to hear about the confirmation email.

For those looking for extras.....RBT extended an offer to me awhile back (Feb/March?) for a 5 stem special for $40 (3 short & 2 long) that he told me that he had intended on putting up in the webstore in the future.

I don't know if that is still the case with any arrangements that he might have subsequently made with his retail distributors .....but it couldn't hurt to ask if you are interested in a 5-pack of extra stems

You are the customer. Ask what the warranty is if you want. I do not think you have to guess. I was simply pointing out be sure what you do first. If I bought one I sure would ask before I altered it to make sure I was not voiding a warranty. I can see where stain probably would not impact it but others have mentioned sanding, carving and other things. There is also the chance you make some beautiful mods to your Milaana and God forbid something happens to that sweet baby you might just get a new unit in a warranty situation losing your art.

Do as you wish with my well intentioned advice that was not meant to stir the pot.

@little maggie the RBT batteries are LG HE4 batteries. I don't know how well they work, but I can tell you SONY vtc-5 and LG 25R batteries work very well.

I believe the stock batteries are 2600 mAh, at least mine are.

The LG HE4s RBT has should all be either 2900mah or now 3000mah I believe. Only the Samsung 25Rs are 2500mah I think (no LG 25Rs to my knowledge?). Never seen 2600mah on any yet so I don't know

Does everyone get a free battery with there Milaana? I have a couple of 18650 already both I use in my Dabbie, ones an efest think it is 2600 one sound right? The other looks unbranded but swear it says lg and it's a off yellow colour.

Yes a yellow LG battery will come with every Milaana (at least it should)

Yeah unregulated just means how its hotter/faster on a fresh battery vs a weak one, vs Zion and its knob that regulates the voltage output to control heat/speed regardless of battery level.

For screens, you may have to force them a bit at first bc they can fit tight, I have a wooden dowel, but an unsharpened pencil or bic pen could work as well. Try resting the stem on a hard surface while you hold it and use the other hand to force the screen in with the tool (once its in, you can then reverse it, with the tool on the hard srugace and you holding the glass stem, pushing it to move the screen where you want). If you are worried about the glass breaking wear gloves to be safe, but it should be fine if its not cracked or anything.

Very glad you are enjoying it Maggie! Your MFLB comparisons make me smile, this is essentially supposed to be the convection version (MFLB meets Underdog?) I know you're always on the lookout for a simple effective portable with your VAS, imo easy is right, great you took right to it. Should make wait for Zion to come back easier too ;)

This is a good point, rest assured since there is no specific warnings for everything yet you will not be penalized. I think there is warranty info on the site, and will start to be included with instructions eventually. I'm sure it will be pretty case by case especially at the start, since everything is new here. Great that there is now some dedicated CS in place for all this finally!

And to all anxious about the confirmations and order dates, don't worry, its early not a straight list by date, but all orders are supposed to be fulfilled very soon, so if you haven't gotten it yet, rest assured it should be very very soon at least!

Starting to think I didn't order this thing at all, can't see it anywhere on PayPal and have a new card and email since then:( have contacted through the website so many times with nothing back, might give it another go since there seems to be an office lady now.

oof that sucks Tommy, hope you get it sorted out, I remember you saying you ordered one way back when over here...

Also to anyone interested, I think RBT will be switching the store to wholesale only in a week or so, at which point you will have to wait for planetvape (likely some other online retailers too) or find it in upper East coast head shops... $169 is still a great price imo and you will probably receive it sooner too, so if interested get in while the gettins good :2c::peace:

It's only been a few days with my new favorite portable of all time!

I wasn't sure on how I'd deal with the stem set up but it's been very simple to work with. I use the straw method to fill with a very light tamp to keep it just below the top edge of the bowl.
I take about 5 hits and then stir once for another 4 to 5 hits.

What a combination of great features, a very opened air path with a heater that can't be overwhelmed.
Full unregulated control provides whatever kind of hit you want at that time. From a lite and wispy vapor to a cloud machine it is, all at the control of your fingertip!
A quick and easy battery swap. Batteries that are common and only cost $5.00.
Some fancier vapes take batteries that cost $30.00 each and are worthless in 4-6 months. But the MI is dawn right fancy in its own rights!

Someone commented earlier on creating a vacuum as you draw to produce quick dense cloud and I agree that is spot on.
A little hard to explain but I draw deep from my lungs and throat with hardly any mouth draw to get it cranking out vapor very quick. Just another great feature, you don't have to sip on a restriced air path for 10-15 seconds just to get a wispy hit.

Battery life has been great. I can get 5-6 chambers easy. I monitored the voltage drop and am not sure how far to let it drop. Starting at 4.2 volts and reading 3.52volts after 6 loads.
Safe minimum is 2.5volts, I think?
I may try to push it another load and see how it performs below 3.50volts.

My method on a fresh battery is to preheat for 2-4 seconds, start drawing and let the power button off after 3-6 seconds and clear it while continuing to draw for a few more seconds.
I don't notice the battery dropping off until the end of the 4 to 5th session. Then I only need to increase the process by a few more seconds at each stage, and I do mean only a "few" more seconds.

Hope all are enjoying, I'm going back for more stress testing.

Sorry @Shit Snacks but there are no LG HE4's that are 2900 or 3000mAh.

If RBT is sending out 3000 mAh LG's then it is likely the brown LG HG2's - which would likely work better in the regulated Zion by giving it additional capacity (although someone has indicated that they don't work as well .....which is contradictory to what you should expect in the Zion) but the 2500mAh HE4's will most likely work better for the Milaana.

However there is another mustard colored LG (@anasrzi - if you purchased this LG recently which is a darker yellow and is the new LG HB4 (used to also be brown) which although rated at 1500mAh is actually closer to 1600mAh and can take very high pulsed loading current - so should work well with Milaana.

I currently have awaiting my Milaana 2xSamsung 25r's (blue - not green version), 2x Sony VTC5's and 1xLG HB4. When my Milaana arrives I assume that I will be receiving an LG HE4 (I hope - since someone else said that they got a 25R) and I also have some button top HG2's that I can try since RBT told me in an email that he believes that there is enough clearance to insert a button top - even though the best batteries to use with the Milaana generally come in flat-top. However, IMRBatteries.com will add a button top and re-wrap so that this option is also available for the HG2's (using 3 sets of these for my Apollo).

So when I receive my Milaana I will test what resistance (wattage) my heater is running at and then report on how all of these batteries perform in the unregulated Milaana.

Edit: Sorry @Shit Snacks - there are no 2900mAh yellow LG's on the market - however, it is possible that the seller mislabelled them with their own sticker after the fact since LG doesn't lable them with anything else but the tiny printing that you see on the wrapper which doesn't indicate the mAh capacity....or, perhaps the "5" in 2500 could have been smudged and it just looks like a "9"?

Yeah I don't know much about the names, but the LGs RBT had were 2900mah and yellow, I have many of them from Zion and Milaana. He told me he now has 3000mah ones that are even better to use going forward.

My Samsung 25Rs were bought on Amazon a year ago for the xmax, they are light blue and 2500mah, just slightly worse performance in Milaana than the yellow 2900mah LGs in my experience. That's all I really know

I paid for my milaana in october, and my zion in september of 2015.
I haven't heard jackshit since then. Do I have to reach out?
:\

Probably not, you're not alone, pre orders are still being fulfilled, others haven't heard confirmation or had delivery yet either (if your address never changed yours may even still arrive from last week's no notification shipments, check with @nosmoking) Should hear something soon grok, keep us posted!
