Don't know much about glass, need help!

Ok, good morning everyone, I am adding glass to my site, I really know nothing about it, all I know for the most part is it will break and with my big clumsy hands quite a bit so I have always steered clear of it. I am working closely with my EU guy to offer a wide variety of glass stems for various vaporizers here in the US. Being on different sides of this Earth our communications sometimes get lost in translation so I need help and figured there is no one any more knowledgeable than you all here at FC. Yeah my question is probably pretty lame and you all may as well get a laugh out of me cause I am pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff. I dont know a whole lot but I do know my wood, glass is a whole different kind of animal and I need learning!

So my question is, what do you call these little points within this stem? I have heard them called ice pinches in the only water pipe I have that got long ago but I dont think these would be called ice pinches since they have nothing to do with ice, pls tell me what I am looking at.

Thanks you all!

FUCK CANCER TOO !
Ya know, it's kinda soundin' like we might have the makings here of a "Name That Glass" contest?

Since there seems to be no name for that piece, maybe a FC member can make one up? :hmm:

Whatdaya say Edward? A promotion for your new foray into glassware?

(Just FYI, you do know Randy from PIU offered FREE Girl Scout Cookies to FC members ....just sayin'!)

:clap::clap::clap::clap:

LOL, Randy is the man and knows how to promote, no doubt! There is a name for this such piece, its the

Atomic Arizer Air/Solo 3D Flow Booster Glass Vapor Stem

what I dont know is what do you call those little points within the stem. I like the idea of a promo and thanks for planting that seed, hmmm maybe once all these pieces are added to my site and up and running I can make a big statement here and do a promo kinda thing then. I will let ya know I have a really neat small bubbler that you can use with a WPA that can be used on really all your portable vape units, its the ticket!

Thanks @Ed's TnT they look sweet. I think the solo and air crew will love them. It's always nice to have stem options , its like bringing new life into a vape. Maybe a nice homemade wood case to hold them so they don't brake easy , always a good option. I hope all is well with you and the family also buddy. I always stop over at your threads from time to time for a good read. You been helping most of us and many others for a long time and its greatly appreciated , feel free to shoot me a pm also when they are available , i'll be sure to purchase 1 off you.

I believe the word for which you are looking is "Vigreux". They are used in condensers to increase the surface area.

Ahhh thanks for stepping in Alan, you are so knowledgeable bro, I really appreciate you letting me know the proper term, this will be helpful in explaining them to others! Hope all is well for you, been a while, wish you all the best! Oh, I gifted that beautiful Sindora burl HI you made for me way back, my guy is absolutely in love with it, he has been raving about it since!

You are welcome. Happy to share what I know. Still keeping busy as usual here. Glad to hear the recipient of the Sindora burl HI has been enjoying it. Wish I had the new heater cover design before I made your HI's.
Keep up all the good work. Lots of diversity.

I think the term "turbulator" may be appropriate for both the stem itself and the pinches (redirectors).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbulator

A turbulator is a device that turns a laminar flow into a turbulent flow. Turbulent flow can be desired on parts of the surface of an aircraft wing (airfoil) or in industrial applications such as heat exchangers and the mixing of fluids.
