FC In Memoriam

Hello FC:

I created this thread to pay homage to a well known member and good friend. @PhotoRider.
He passed away today after battling cancer for many years. Probably thanks to him, many veteran members from FC since circa 2011 know him very well, got that disease that everybody wants to get, GAS. He represented the real meaning of GAS. I had the pleasure to unpack and dab/vape from more than 100 at least, of the more than probably 300 plus pieces collection, high end and heady glass.
Too many words to express feelings.
RIP my dear friend. See you somewhere.
Stay vaped my friend.

I just grabbed a random post of Phil's to give folks an idea of his glass collection.
OK, a few recyclers I have got lately. Been lazy so grabbed some group shots... 21 recyclers starting from small to big kind off. There is a quad (my only one) on the last image. Several Surleys, My Klinco from Pyro, a Taylor Sims, a few from Gorilla a Slugworth mini, a Greoff Platt, al PhilPot (his only full color as of date). The mini bee rig is a part with the Bee recycler next to it so I kept them together...

Enjoy friends. Yes, I just cleared 89 recyclers. Wonder what will be the 90th :)

He was a really great guy and he'll be missed. I had the pleasure of some nice Skype chats with Phil that I'll never forget. FC has lost one of it's own today. Boy did he love his glass! A collection like none I've ever seen.

RIP buddy. :(

We're here to fuck shit up.
My heart is hurting so much right now. Phil was a good man and the inspiration for my glass collection. We discussed glass and artists quite a few times over phone and private messaging here on FC. Our talks became less frequent this year and I had not spoken with him since March. He never let on how hard he was battling and he was strong right up to the last time I spoke with him. Sadly, we never met face to face and it's something I'll think about my whole life. Today is a sad day learning of his passing.

Rest easy my friend. I hope to meet you in another life. :rip:

Thanks for letting us know @Zangano Cruel.. I was aware he had serious health issues and I had been wondering about him throughout the last year..
Definitely a good dude, w/ a great attitude.. I last PM'd w/ him just over a year ago, and was planning on sending him a special "thank you" gift for all he had done for the community, and just for being the awesome person he was.. Sadly he stopped logging in just before I was able to get his shipping info.. I'd check periodically to see if he'd come back, but eventually his gift went to a good home, where it is appreciated just as much.. I wish I could have had the chance to give back to him though, although I'm sure the gesture meant just as much to him..
IMO This place will never be the same for having known him..
RIP Phil :(

Be at rest.
Your act of generosity when you donated the proceeds from your contest helped so many people.
You gave the money to the staff of FC, who collectively decided to help me help Low Income Patients that were terminally Ill.
You were central in the establishment of the Paying it Forward Program.
(Also thanks to the entire staff for their decision)
In my memory I see a few dozen patients that were without income, that came through the door here at Patty and my home.
Each left with hope, and the feeling that they were not poor....
or using inferior tools due to their circumstance.

All at your hands.
Giver of hope.
Bestower of Dignity.

Patty and I were merely tools of your thoughtfulness.
We will remember you all of our days.
