Boundless CF / CFX / CF-Hybrid

Should I get a Boundless CF or a Pax 1? My priorities are taste, efficiency and STEALTH... Both vapes will cost me the same ($110). For anyone that has the CF, is it small enough to be stealth?

Both of those vapes will produce quite a bit of smell in my experience so neither will be 'stealth' in that regard. The Pax 1 is much smaller but besides that I'd go with the CF. The Pax 1 requires regular maintenance and the CF requires very little. It also produces higher quality vapor imo.

If you are truly looking for ultimate stealth then I would recommend a 'one-hitter' style of vape instead that you could hit on the go without the need for a session. But for most intents and purposes the CF would work great.

The pax 1 has better vapor quality? Do you own/have you used a CF to share those opinions? The CF will barely smell at all because of the closed airpath. The pax mouthpiece hole is always open so will leak smell. Any other comparisons? And what about the thickness of the CF? I'm worried that it'll be too thick to comfortably have it in a pocket...

I read this totally differently- I think he's saying the CF has better vapor quality. As for the smell- I find both the CF and CFX more smelly than other vapes I own.

Do you fully pack your chamber? My guess is that it smells more if you fill the chamber.

I don't know how long it takes the pax to warm up, but it ain't 20 seconds.

That's why I'm interested in the CF- it heats up so damn fast. Do you own a Pax?

Cf will destroy the pax...and I really like the pax..my first vape so sentimental for sure but it is smelliest portable vape there is..cf is so fast and does require such a perfect grind and pack for it to fully function to its peak..

I microdose all my vapes. I just never noticed much of a smell until I started using the CFX/CF. That's not a negative about buying the CFX- it has a lot of good qualities just would not use it for stealth.

Is the CF really thick or no? Would it stick out if I had it in my pocket around people?

Couldn't find one exactly but I think This is a good general image if anyone else is interested with size comparisons.

This first picture is from vaporizer wizard

With that I think you can get the jist of size.

Thank you so much for this, just the question I was gonna ask....

I too like many of you guys are looking to use this as a summer vape/pocket vape....chiefly, I have a family reunion in July and am looking for something that can hold a lot/and or I can get ripped on quickly. I have a Mighty, so I was thinking the Crafty may be a nice compliment......that said, this is cheaper, and I would like to try out something new since the Mighty is the same as the Crafty essentially...plus I have been quietly reading this thread and I really dig whats going on with it.

The concentrate can.......can you use it with dry herbs and is it any different (more convective? conductive?)

Honestly dig the smaller profile of the CF so I may just wait for them to update the battery firmware stuff.....that said, I do kinda like the big display on the CFX, and I have no need for discretness or anything in that sense, I have big palms I'm confident I can cover it adequately.

It only goes up when you pause a bowl mid session, it doesn't go go down by a few degrees when u take a hit like it should.

Try it, pack one and fire it up, doesnt matter what temp. I was at 380, mid sess I paused an the temp reads 393 before falling.

If u pause it right after a draw it shouldn't give a higher temp reading.

I'll give that a try tonight and report back.

edit: So I just tried it and I see what you're saying. I see the temp instantly jump up 5-10deg after the pause for 1 second, but it starts dropping right after that. Could be a glitch or the digital temp could be inaccurate.

...hello all.
My first cfx went dead on me out of nowhere...one load it was good to go...the next an hour later..5 clicks..nothin..it wasn't paused,..or off..or uncharged.
Strangest thing.
The customer service is excellent..as it should be..and I received a new unit w/ no hassles whatsoever from Eric & Boundless in no time.
The C.S. like I said and you guys know is excellent..you can really sense they're enthusiasm and eagerness.
I use this at home between an underdog and an enail..it just heats up so fukn quick and delivers the goods from start to finish...very convenient.
But last nite,..I was 1/2 way thru a load at 380 when,..and I shit you not..it jumped up so fukn high in temp..all by itself,..that my material combusted...immediately.
It was startling to say the least,..I opened the hatch and my entire apt. was filled with SMOKE...I had to put it right down it was hotter than hell.
I did not have the presence of mind to look at the display for temp. but I did have to 5 clicky it off...it was just getting hotter...it's like it rebooted itself from cold already at my 380.
I've tested it a couple times since...as far as on & off and temp. jumps...it seems fine...but if that's a soldered 18650 battery in there I'm concerned it potentially could have really swelled up...damaging the casing and causing leaks.
I don't shit about that stuff really,...I should ask OF,..but I do know it's potentially dangerous and I don't feel comfortable using it sadly.
I will once again have the pleasure of dealing with that great customer service I see.
If anyone has any idea why this happened,..or its potential dangers please let me know.
I'm not superstitious but my lucks been shit all month...I'm sure this is isolated as I've yet to hear of any other defects but mine.

Wow Evil 55....wtf.

When ur replacement cfx jumped in temp did the reading jump up from 380?? Try the same thing but hold the power 2 seconds to pause the heating and see if the display jumps up in temp.

I've been keeping very short sessions when I crank the temp up, at 420 degrees after I pause it it jumps to 433...at 430 it goes to 445, at that temp it's not pleasant to hold the unit, the heat is real.

But it literally combusted?!?!?! Terrible luck with ur original and replacement...at some hot as the run I've yet to have any combust ed material...just dark brown crispy material

Hey @EVIL 55 sorry to hear about this, this is the first reported case of a device acting this way so we would like to test the device and swap you with a new one. I must also stress that the device is not supposed to be used while charging nor should any liquids or oil be placed directly in the chamber. This is to prevent the device from overheating or getting the internals fried. Send me an email at eric@bndlsvapes.com and we will get the process rolling.

Hmmmmm.....maybe try changing your FC avatar? Just a thought....

Seriously, what you've described sounds VERY dangerous and were I you I'd not turn it on again but get it back to Boundless ASAP!

Please keep us posted on what the company concludes might have caused this event?

Yea..hopefully.
...I have no idea what ever caused the first unit to take a dump...I just received a box w/ a new cfx...it would've been interesting to know...no matter I guess...but when something like this happens I don't know...I don't want to sound ungrateful,..or piss anybody off but this isn't a broken piece of molding...or something or even a dead unit,..it was to the point of scorching or worse...I appreciate Boundless' quick reply and offer to replace it,..again...but under my personal circumstances I'm not so sure of want a third after what happened to the second.
And I can also appreciate Boundless stressing no liquid directly inside,..or to use while charging...and I wish that were the case for the sake of an answer...but its not.

Yea i try to be very careful with my unit, i wait until it's completely cool before I charge. There have been a good amount of Chinese ecig mods spontaneously exploding in people pockets...or worse, when they are i having from them. NOT saying boundless has any affiliation with those manufacturers...hell Iphones have exploded with no warning.

I've been digging the 'vape at 380..then an hour or so later finish it off at 420ish (which usually jumps up to mid 430s)

I sure would like to check the Temps inside and outside the chamber with a laser temp reader!!!
