Hey Guys,

Newbie here with a quick question. I received my single battery zion yesterday and tried it out a couple times. It seems like it is combusting and gets really hot and the material looks burnt. I suspect I may not be doing something right but wondered if anyone else experienced this?

As a reference point, I am used to a Pax2 at the lowest setting and really like the taste.

It's just that in my very own social circle and the places/events I attend, using for a prolongated period (ie. more than a fraction of second) anything with a lighter and even worse a torch is just a no go. Not going to happen, not at my age. If I was still in my 20's, attending some free party in an abandonned building, yes no problem. But now... not so much.

We know how you love your batteries! I have to admit, these yellow jacket LG are the shit -- the higher mAh brown jackets do not provide as positive an experience in the Zion family, nor do AW's.

I got to try some flower in my Milaana finally, this morning. It was a short session, and I was able to extract somewhat similar to the Zion. Got some good clouds, though I'm sure I have a lot more to learn -- it's somewhat similar to Zion, but the timing is definitely different.

I don't own a Zion or milaana but you have control of two things that could cause this. How long you press the button and your breath. Don't hold the button as long, draw sooner...longer....draw with more power but still steady. It may help if you describe your technique.

You are probably holding the button down too long. With a fresh battery you should start with holding the button down about 5 seconds. When you feel heat through the stem, back off for a sec and then hold it down again for 5 seconds. You will have to play with it and use your mouth to judge the vapor and heat. It will take you a little while, but you will get it.
And I mentioned above, using glass may make it easier to understand what is happening, but it isn't necessary. Just easier.

And BTW, I want to remind folks if they need or want a M2M for glass or just some custom stems, they need to be US jointed and @Oregonglassblower has served me well on this. Make sure he knows you need a US jointed stem for your RBT designed vape...

Yes, the heat rises rapidly as the button is pressed, faster on a fresh battery slower on a weak one, trying letting kff the button afer a few seconds and continue pulling to get a full hit off residual heat. Coming from a pure conduction automatic Pax2 will take some getting used to with this pre convection manual, but you will get there. You can try using the long stem so you can watch the vapor form in the stem as you hit it to get a visual feedback along with throat feel and taste. Welcome and good luck!

I have my screen a bit more shallow. I like as little gap as possible between the heater screen and the load. Packing it a touch looser may help too. So many variables like draw speed or flower moisture but the best advice is LET OFF the throttle as mentioned lol. Have fun trying all the different ways you can use the heater until you find what you want.

I will say I've tried a long stem with the mi but for now the short stem offers the best feed back as far as how my hits are going. I'm sure once I get better at reading it I'll like the long stem too. It might be better for cooler hits.

It's strange how every persons body can react so different. I read where some people say convection hits dry the throat too much. And I don't doubt this. But I've been using a couple dif. conduction vaporizers and I keep getting choked up after every hit. No matter how cool I hit them. As soon as I go back to convection my coughing attacks are gone.

Well that sucks... Ordered late night Aug 20th, PayPal shows 21st. Assuming eastern vs western time thing, but we.

Really thought I'd be in the first 50 shipped as i was in first 50 sold for both TOD and this one... still no email back from rbt web contact form... No shipping notification from ups... bummer.

Maybe Monday will have some news...

I didn't receive any contact from RBT or UPS, just a Milaana. If 50 a week are rolling out, you'll get yours soon (I was told a more conservative estimate than 50, but it sounds like you should get yours within the next week or two).

All this Milaana talk is so exciting!
I have exactly 1 week on the dot to receive my Milaana or my school will ship it back 2 weeks from the day it arrives because I won't be there. Will either see my Milaana in a week or a month. Not holding my breath, but we'll see.

Damn @AJS that's a bit of a predicament. This "surprise" delivery was bound to have a few major bumps in the road. I know in the end it will all work out for you but that doesn't help a damn thing in the here and now. I have my fingers crossed that everyone will have their orders sooner then later.
Hopefully your not a west coaster @AJS that could take a bit longer.

I'm in Florida, so shipping should be quick. it wouldn't be an issue if I could just re-direct the package to my home, but after calling UPS, they aren't allowing me to know of incoming packages through my school.

Isn't it ironic how a lot of the people getting their Milaanas, are obviously the first to order, and seem to be the least active on this thread? It seems all the later people (myself included) sorta just took over this thread with questions and concerns, and the OGs helped to keep it all together.

Another happy recipient here. Came home to a surprise box on my doorstep this afternoon. WOOHOOOO!!

Just on my maiden voyage now. A bit tricky to get a hit at first, but not too bad if you've vaped with a few different devices. Not hard to figure out. I'm only 3 full hits into my first load - with a couple airy ones before that while I was figuring her out. Must say it is a treat! Flavor, density and buzz that is coming on strong all making me a happy camper!!

For those of you still waiting, don't fret. It could be there today or tomorrow. My UPS always seems to take a day longer because I live so far from their closest distribution point. I didn't have any email or UPS indication (though didn't look at my account - was afraid I'd jinx myself!). The box was just sitting there waiting for me in all of its plain cardboard glory.

EDIT: Just rounding the corner on load 2. A different strain (more indica in the mix), and fucking wow man!! I wanted to clear this one out so I could load a fresh one to take with me. Worked better than expected!

Still freaking me out a little to have pure convection while walking around the house. I'm a nano lover from way back, and have been looking for a portable that comes close for a couple years. Only thing the Milaana lacks is dialed in power (c'mon Zion!). Other than that it is pretty close. Maybe a little more material necessary than nano, but will sadly have to experiment more to be sure.

Your nug looks super far away in this shot; use the back of a chopstick, or an unsharpened pencil to move the basket closer, like Mr Peanut was suggesting. Just noticed how far away your bud looks, like some sort of budception.

My Milaana arrived today. The rbt batteries are still charging so I threw in one of my own 18650s. I tried a glob of shatter using an m2m and my FC UFO bubbler and got huge clouds. First few draws melted the wax then it was easy to milk. Enjoyed this method a lot more than I thought I would. Then I tried an herb bowl using the short stem and had a little trouble gauging the heat (similar to my first experience with the T1). So I dumped the herb into the m2m and was again able to get clouds. The visual feedback seems to be helping, I guess I may be too tentative with the trigger when using dry. Overall I'm pleased but will report back after trying the rbt batteries.

I will say I love this shredded filter stuff for wax!

I was going to ask what people were using for water since I almost always need something to cool it down. I haven't gotten the milaano yet. Will how to use the UFO be obvious? If not, could you post a picture of how you've connected it?

You will need a Male to Male (M2M) and once you have that it is pretty obvious. One side of the M2M is in the Milaana and the other in the piece of glass.

Actually a benefit of the Milanaa over the Zion is it fits more comfortably on smaller glass like the D020. The Zion's size kinda overwhelms some of my glass, but since Milaana's power is similar there is no reason to bother with the larger body.

It is cranberry extract, it helps to keep glass clean.
