I've got numerous vapes going, I'm covered on the waiting game but I hear you on the babying it. Better to see if its going to split while its still warrantied. This one would hurt a little more since its prettier!

Pretty certain it causes more wear/work being on in any capacity but certainly on the wood. Can't recall if its on the nano or UD page but one plainly tells you leaving your unit warm 24/7 decreases its lifespan considerably.

The nano owners that bought theirs on or before Oct 31, 2015 have a lifetime warranty. The heater has a lifetime warranty on all nanos. I think most of the nano owners that use their unit regularly leave it on. I turn mine down to 3 and the wood is barely warm.

Do what you think is best in your situation. We don't want to give out wrong info that the enano can split by leaving it on low. After the first few weeks it shouldn't matter. My first cherry unit split. I didn't have any problems with my second unit.

I have had my Nano for over 2 years now.. the one with the non-detachable cord, and we leave it on almost all day long at 6.5. My hubby forgets to turn it off at night almost all the time. It still looks as beautiful as the first day we got it. I do rub it with eds bombass butter occasionally. It is a Koa wood.

I would have a VERY difficult time remembering to turn the unit on/off/up/down/etc. If I did not have an automatic timer I would just leave it at vaping temperature 24/7.

But as CarolKing and many others have said, do what is best in your situation.

There are many ways to use this awesome vape!

+1 - but I'm the one who seldom remembers to even turn it down!

I've had my cherry nano for more than 3 years now. On around 6.25 all the time. Hope I don't jinx myself, but wood is great, heater seems as good as ever. I do give it some loving with coconut oil and beeswax 3 or 4 times a year, and habitually give it an upside down tap and blow on the heater screen a few times a week.

I make my own wood polish for...it's very easy and a lot cheaper than buying it.

There are many different recipes you can use, but I prefer natural ingredients so I use Bees wax and Olive Oil, but you can use mineral oil, linseed oil or coconut oil.

Heat the bees wax in a double boiler until it melts. Add a small amount of the oil you prefer, and stir it thoroughly. Once its thoroughly mixed, take the pot off the heat, and remove the bowl that you melted the ingriedients in. While its still warm and soft, pour it into asmalll mason jar. Keep it stored in a cool dark place, and your furniture polish will last a long, long time. The first time you apply your polish to the wood,you will be amazed the way the wood drinks it up. Each time you use the wax the wood will darken, become richer looking, and the grain becomes more pronounced.

Tip: If your wax is too hard to spread, reheat it and a little more oil. If it comes out too soft, it means you added too much oil which you can rectify by heating it back up in a double boiler and adding more beeswax. You will find it to be as good or better than any wood polish you can purchase.

With all this talk about conditioning our nanos. I had mine out in the hot sun. It was 85 degrees in the Great Pacific N.W today. An early summer surprise. I used some of Ed's Bomb Ass Butter, its beeswax and let the hot sun soak into the wood. I've also used Burts Bees lip balm it's just beeswax. Heat your unit up and the beeswax will melt into the wood.

I bought some with my wooden stems through @Ed's TnT. The pic looks a little fuzzy but you can see how pretty the grain is on my nano a cherry and a walnut that are a year old. The cherry has deepened in color.

I use that more than the walnut. The cherry has the rainbows the walnut has the waves action it looks darker when it's not in the sun. It's worth it to spend a little extra to get one with a unique grain.

Both are very Purdy :drool: Do yourself a favor...pick up some beeswax online. You can buy half a pound for what that little tin sells for. ;)

How hot does the e nano run if you hook it up with a direct AC cable as in not the on with the volume knob the nano comes with? I should probably get one with a built in cable so I don't lose the cable.

Epic stopped making Nano's with non-removable cords quite some time ago.

Andy is updating one of my old silver bottom, attached cord Nano's to add a socket/removable cord.

Having a removable cord is great. If something goes wrong with the dimmer switch you can just buy a new one rather than having to send the entire unit back for repair. :2c:

Very nice Carol. I have been thinking about conditioning my nano also. The thing is, I haven't conditioned yet after a year or so. I know I should have given it something but, you know, one thing leads to another and life gets busy.

So maybe I'll just try buying a stick of the Burt's bees stuff and rub that in the wood.

My only nano is a standard walnut. Even though it wasn't an upgrade, it does have a nice pattern for walnut. It also has never let me down, knock on wood.

Just celebrated 420 by vaping some Cheese through my nano. In fact, I think I'll go back for some more.

Anyone ever mod their enano and do away with the cork on the bottom for some of the rubber bumpers you typically see on electronics?

I've had my unit about 2 weeks now and I can already tell the cork is prob not gonna last... getting all kinds of plant material and duff on there and is sort of coming apart on the edges where I try to brush it off.

You certainly could if you prefer the rubber, but I wouldn't worry about the cork too much. My cork has been going more than 3 years with no issues, and I certainly don't baby it. Then again, I'm not brushing it too much. I try to keep all the plant material in the glass and the duff in the tin. :D But, it has seen some rough transit in coat pockets and backpacks with no problems. Probably not a good idea to get it wet or futz with it too much, but other than that it should be pretty durable unless there is some kind of new cork being used.

I felt the same when I inspected my first nano 2 years ago. Due to my job & hobbies, I had many ideas on what to replace the cork bumpers with. Once these guys failed, I was going to mod my nano.. fuck yeah.

2 years later, they are still going strong and I give them a lot of abuse. Always brushing gunk off of them, sliding them around on my desk, etc..

tl;dr: I'll eventually replace them (and am looking forward to it), but probably in a few years.

Loving some Platinum Girl Scout Cookie in my nano using the j hook tonight.

When I first got my nanos I thought the cork tabs on the bottom would come off in no time. They still are intact without any problems. I can see over time them getting brittle, cork will do that. The bottom doesn't get very warm, that's a good thing.

I looked on the bottom of my cherry unit there is a little bit of cannabis flakes stuck to the cork. i keep my vaping area fairly clean. I wouldn't try pulling it off, that could cause them to get loose. I've had my units for a year the cork on the bottom seems pretty durable. To be honest I haven't been paying much attention to the bottom.:lol:

Morning all!

I know I've been quiet on this thread since my business picked up. But I'm proud to report that my E-Nano is still going strong after almost two years! I still use it daily despite having many other vapes at my disposal.

Over a year ago, I started work on a press to make my own screens at home. Unfortunately plastic wasn't optimal for the stresses involved in forming metal. So I shelved the project for a while. Finally I was fed-up with reusing the same basket screens all the time, and I restarted the project.

After over 8 different types of pressing machine designs and dozens of prototypes we are finally happy with this design. Allow me to introduce the v1 Basket Screen Press!
