I think concentrates should be for "real" medical patients only.

Define "real" please.

Edit: Does just having an MMJ card make it "real" ? My guess is that you don't think so.

Why do you care about concentrates more than flower. They both mess me up. One is just faster...

Exactly right.. Flower, edibles and concentrates all get you where you want. It all depends on the dosage.

I prefer concentrates because it's quick and I can take 2 hits from a nice sized dab and I'm done. Alternatively, I would have to take maybe 12 vape hits of flower to get the same level of medicated effect. For me, dabs are quicker and I get much less throat irritation and coughing from a dab.

I'm like 75% concentrates, 10% vaped flowers, 10% edibles and.... I'm almost embarrassed to say 5% joint smoking. Yes, I still enjoy smoking a joint socially every 3 or 4 weeks or so. Everyone is different, but this ratio is what works for me!

I really don't understand the main point of the OP.. It's all about dosage. I hate to use alcohol as an analogy , but 2 tequila shots(let's call this the concentrate), will produce the same effect as 2 beers. You will feel a mild alcohol buzz either way...the tequila won't make you "more messed up" than the 2 beers even though you're only drinking 2 ounces of tequila...

"Real" medical patients. What does this mean?

The reality is a lot of people use weed as both medical and recreational at the same time!

It's not like there's a sharply defined line with users between medical and recreational. It's a range between the two sides of usage. Where you place yourself on that range is your own business and no one else's. If you feel you are using it to improve your health, mood, or sense of peace then you're a medicinal user.

A lot of medical users don't even need concentrates because they don't need that strong of an effect. Some only vape small amounts of weed, far less than a lot of recreational users. So give me a better reason that "real" medical users should only have it.

Given that it's all the same starting material and just is a different product I don't see why it should only be for "real" medical patients.

I think everyone should do whatever they want so long as it good and does not negatively affect others.

shamefully stolen from the preamble into pg99's In Love With An Apparition: "Punk Rock should mean freedom, liking and accepting everything that you like, playing whatever you want, as sloppy as you want as long as it's good and has passion."

'I' think, that ALL users of cannabis in whatever form have a medical need (medical= physical/diseased/mental/emotional). The same as those who prefer alcohols, adrenaline release, danger, for their well being.

I also think & feel, that NOBODY has a right to cast their 'beliefs' on other consenting adults related to consumption(s) nor activities :myday:

We are all over the age of 18 or should be so generally we make decisions for ourselves.

If you are just curious its because some like to vaporize slow, like with flowers and some like to get it done quick. We choose what works for us.

I've gotten just as wrecked on flowers as I have concentrates. You just need to know when done is done. It's personal preference. A lot of folks don't have access to concentrates.

Recreational or medical it doesn't matter around here.

Not everyone's motivation for vaping concentrates is to get "messed up". Sure the potency is concentrated but so is the flavor, that strong flavor is the main reason I moved away from flower altogether.

With the advancement of enails and nail composition ( SiC, quartz, sapphire), the flavor just keeps getting better and my desire to combust or vape flower has dwindled to non existent. Flavor is king, so concentrates it is.

I have generally preferred flower myself, just for the vast selection alone. Both should be pretty similar, both involve inhaling the vaporized resin of cannabis flowers, right? I don't really like dealing with a dab rig myself. It is much easier to stuff some buds into a stem. The important thing is to vape or consume clean cannabis, for medical patients. At least that is what the doctor told me where I got my rec.

Put that flame away. Fuck combustion!

;)

I vape for:

Appetite
Insomnia
Anxiety
PTSD
Depression
and to help with concentration.

And I prefer buds for the most part. I am not dying of cancer or anything like that though. If I were I would probably be using megadoses of concentrate orally, GrowGoddess style (naturally decarbed).

I do agree concentrates are good for medicinal users as long as they are clean and without contaminates, but can not understand why it should be outlawed for anyone else. I can't wait for the feds to just drop classification altogether without any other bogus laws about it, like not allowing cultivation and things like that. No regulation, no permits, etc. But who knows.

Ive been getting into concentrates alot recently due to finding a steady supply of really nice wax. Theres alot of strains and alot of variety in the type of concentrate, which is a miracle in only a decriminalized state. It is way easier to take a pea sized dab, plop it in my pen, and be on my way. Concentrates also help me alot more when I am having a flareup and flowers are not hitting the spot.

Overall Ive found it alot nicer as far ass effects go as well. It lets me get higher than I can on flowers, even if I vape several bowls. The high is just a bit more intense and all encompassing to me

I guess I flamed myself out...:\

Yes, people tend to become rather upset when someone proposes limiting their freedom and/or confiscating their property. It is especially annoying when the given reason is "but why do you need..." or "do it for the children".

In short stop being a fascist and tend to your own affairs...

I really don't get "messed up dabbing," maybe with my first few dabs a few years ago yes, and the first few of the day still yes... But once you get to a habit of consuming between 1/2 g and 1 1/2 gs of oil a day its almost all the same afterwards. I peak, and just live there. Taking a dab is more or less just keeping that level of relief throughout the day. Some days its only a couple dabs, when i wake up, getting home from work, and an hour before bed. Other days every half hour... I'm really not getting messed up dabbing thankfully. When I'm taking a larger dab i have to close my eyes sometimes because it does screw me up, but i don't do that anymore.
If i want to get messed up I get out the capsules or just eat a spoonful of butter straight. It takes quite a bit too... half a gram of reclaim is my standard every couple weekends. Dabs get me high of course, i still feel sort of light throughout the day, and i feel a little "rock" chillin vibrating in my neck and behind my eyes, but I avoid strains that really mess up my head. i get pain relief and some happiness but im not really sleepy or stoney. But I see nothing wrong with with someone using it with no medical needs at all. People build tolerances so instead of 3 js, a dab is much better. And i'd rather someone take 10 dabs than 10 shots, when you talk completely recreational.
Of course though you have a problem when you go around "zombie faced level stoned" all the time. Shits fucked there, unless you need it.

Maybe you're just baked and it was a "highdea"..
In my experience the effects from a couple dabs of oil are strong. When I first tried one, I had been lowering my tolerance after a period of heavy use. One wasn't enough but 2 was too much. I know my friend's tolerance went up fairly quick using them.

When concentrates started popping up here people said it would get you more baked than you can handle.
I can imagine how a lightweight casual smoker/vaper wouldn't be into concentrate.
