My son got married yesterday so I've been pre-occupied, but I wanted to mention that my new LB arrived on Thursday. I haven't had time to take it apart and take photos of the broken one to send in. They also included an extra mouthpiece with the new box ;-) . Tomorrow I'm going to the Giant-Dodger game and then have to install a pack of bees in a hive at my sister's house. Busy as a bee...

I'm curious if anyone here has experience with both the UFO and the Bottle Rocket with MFLB. I'm always looking for ways to make portable vaping enjoyable to my friends whenever we go out to vacations and in hotels. I already own the UFO (and the Orbiter), but I'm curious how the Bottle Rocket compares to the UFO. It definitely looks more portable, but I'm curious on ease of use and efficiency. The one thing I'm not 100% wild about with the UFO is that it requires some downward pressure on most cups to make a seal. The Bottle Rocket seems like this isn't an issue and even to the point if potentially saving you from spillage if one were to tip the bottle over. UFO however, seems to have the advantage of being more versatile in what you can use it on.. plus if one were to really want extreme cooling, it's easy to just dump ice cubes in a cup or mason jar for the UFO. What are your opinions? I've just been revisiting my accessories because I decided to get a Maud'Dib (always wanted to venture into concentrates). I'll probably sell my Arizer Air to fund all of this - I like the vape, but like the Solo I owned, still wasn't getting me as high as the MFLB.

As you know, endlessly fascinating and a boon, if not a necessity, to human existence.

Once 'broken in' the surface of the screen is a bit like a well seasoned iron fry pan. Too smooth and well sealed at the atomic level for stuff to stick to. Unless you get 'sticky stuff' left on the surface when moisture and contamination get heated and loses the moisture part. That moisture has to be 'cooked out' before we get to the THC, why 'burn up your battery' doing so when you could be making vapor?

This includes guys who get 'cakes' or 'loaves' in the trench when the lot fuses. Fun, but it shouldn't be happening.

Anyway, not to ramble too much, if your otherwise well performing box has herb sticking to the mesh, check the cure of the well ground herb going in. I haven't 'banged a box' since someone here set me wise and shaking has done the job.

And I hear you on the well-seasoned fry pan.
I like flax oil for cast iron.
Lately I've been lovin my carbon steel pans. Haven't, as I recall, done a seasoning routine on them, as they didn't seem to need it. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.
Off to google that which I should have known.
Ooopsie....now I'm going to have to spend a day or two seasoning my carbon steel.
I still love them.....even though my cast iron feels jealous and ignored.

Yer welcome, glad to help when I can.

My practice is to grind the buds (medium/fine) then put it in a small jar (no top) on top of my router (it's warm there). Depending on the cure it takes zero to several hours usually. It gets a 'crisp feel' I think. Depending on how fine the grind is I might grind it again a bit before going into the box. Ideally it's table salt or finer so it flows easily in the trench when you shake it.

Keep it fine and dry going in, the battery fresh, draw slowly only as vapor forms and shake, shake, shake between hits and you'll do fine. After using the box for a while I often catch myself automatically shaking other vapes. Brain damage, no doubt.

Thanks. I laugh. Because I'm so glad you came up with such a low tech procedure.
Yeah, even just exposing it to dry(er) ambient air will do the trick, but I was curious, as to whether someone came up with something more fanciful.
You know how people are when they've vaped.
I have hesitated to make it bone dry out of concern for preservation of the sacred molecules. But I suppose a little search would confirm that it is no problem.
OK, since I have your attention, what I got is a quart mason jar of some White Widow (local variation).
My plan would be to dry out just what I'm going to use for a period of time, and leave the rest in the jar, rather than dry it all out at once. Among other reasons, this gives me the option of rolling joints for those heathens that still combust.

Yea, it's really efficient and now I save all my MFLB batteries for it. I still prefer to use the MFLB with the power adapter because I like the high of actual herbs over concentrates.. but the Maud Dib is definitely an efficient travel companion with the batteries because of how effective just a little dab is. All my friends who had trouble drawing the MFLB correctly have no issues doing it with the Maud Dib, especially when I operate the battery for them (draw whip makes it even easier to do this).

Grats. The PA is a definitely game changer. Not sure if the 2.4 has a different power setting than the one I have.. but I generally dial it somewhere dab in the middle to power the MFLB. With the Orbiter, make sure you don't fill up water all the way. Usually just filling up enough to cover up the shower is good enough.

I think it has the same power settings as 2.0, just sone design tweaks to the build (like no more power button) so that's good to know!

And thanks for the tip on the Orbiter. I'd probably fill it up quite a bit otherwise. Is it hard to control draw speed using the Orbiter?

Not at all. Very effortless to draw from the Orbiter. I actually use the Orbiter or UFO to help newbies vape when I bring it to small gatherings. Essentially I milk some vapor into the Orbiter and let anyone else go at it, makes it far easier than trying to teach everyone how to use the MFLB. If you filled it up too much though, you do run the risk of having the water go up the draw straw... and you end up drinking the filtering water.

I got my Orbiter on Monday and the PA yesterday!

The PA is amazing, super comfortable to use and I immediately like it better than the batteries, not only for the even power discharge, but the lower profile makes it so much comfier to press in. I'm really glad I held out for the 2.4, because I don't think I would have liked to have had to press a button to engage it.

The Orbiter, on first use, seemed a little impractical -- kind of awkward to use, I didn't think I noticed a big difference with the smoothness, but I did notice a big drop in flavour. Then I tried it without the Orbiter and I realised how harsh the vapour felt in comparison! And it was really nice being able to shake the Launch Box while drawing.

How long can you leave the vapour in the Orbiter? Could I milk it and then just sip out of for 10-15 minutes, or would it condense by then? I have a really low tolerance so usually one big hit from the Orbiter ends up being too much for me at once, haha.

And narrow minded people say you don't know what's good for you....... I hope your original went to a good home and is carrying on the good fight.

But a body needs a MFLB for special times, or at least having one standing by, and the Walnut part makes is all the more special. My Walnut box gets used only a few times a year these days, but like my Walnut VapMan it's special indeed. Genuine pride of ownership, well done Lady.
