next generation e-nails?

Hey, guys, I have the 710 whip coil, the 710 whip carb cab, and everything but the dish, which cracked. Is my best option just getting another dish? Is it worth getting this up and running? Is the dish from domeless what I should get?

I'm not a big concentrate user but it feels like a waste to not have the whip be functional, although my prior experience with it was not very good. It was constantly dirty because the e-nail doesn't go higher than 700, so I was always vaping reclaim, it felt like...

What do you all know of Sheldon Black's enail??
I'd not noticed it on their site till this weekend...

Looks like a really tight package and competitively priced. Is there anything a brand name $500+ enail is going to do that this one can't?

I'm likely going to get this or the cheapo $125 DHGate pelican package.

Low
I've never used (S&B or DHgate pelican pack) so I can't say anything good or bad but between Auber enails http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=45 and Gimido enail kits http://gimido.bigcartel.com/ you can find a quality set-up for half the money. Both work well and are pretty accurate.

Hi guys,

I've read through almost this entire thread and I would just like to ask for your help!

I have a 16mm coil and e-nail box that my friend DIY'ed for me. It's been rocking for over two years now, knock on wood! I just got a new coil, but last night I broke my Hive Ceramic being an idiot and torching it clean..

I'm in the market for a new nail for my 16mm coil. I've had a pukinbeagle quartz, HE infiniti and Hive Ceramic. I think the quartz had the best taste but wasn't easy to clean and the dish was too small. I've seen a ton about this SIC D-nail insert but since I have a box my friend made and i don't have a flat coil right now I may be shit out of luck?

What would you guys recommend I replace my Hive Ceramic with? The new HE hybrid nails look cool but also require a flat coil i believe? Please help me out! Thanks!

That gave me an idea which led to me buying this battery pack with an AC outlet. If I read the specs right it should be able to power my current e-nail without needing a special 12V model. I checked the power draw and it only peaks around 95W when it's heating up otherwise it bounces between 0.5W and 43W to maintain the temp. If it works it'll mean I can finally use my e-nail outside in the park during the summer which would be great especially since using a torch in broad daylight is a huge pain in the ass not to mention sketchy looking. If it doesn't work, I've been meaning to buy one for work soon anyway.

I have a 18,000mAh 85 Watt max battery pack that is identical but black and it does not work with the Auber RDK-200 I was hoping it would work because you can just plug into the battery pack. It just shuts the battery pack down. Again mine an 18,000 mAh 85 Watt max, not the 24,000.

Sorry for the double post. Hit reply and not edit. Some tasty Grape God shatter has me good :)

I saw some reviews where some things only work with larger capacity packs so I'm staying hopeful, should know tomorrow for sure. Mine is based on the Omron PID, don't know if that'll make a difference.

Id probably go with the Liger and a quartz bucket. Its not cheap but worth it in the end.

I just tested my new external battery pack with my Gimido e-nail and it works! Just heats up a bit slower and my watt meter reads it maxing out at 85W draw. I don't have any other e-nail to test it with though I may be able to try it with friend's Auber at some point down the road. Aside from outside dabs, it'll also make it easier when I take it to other people's houses since I won't have to worry about extension cords and outlets.

@mrbonsai420 The battery pack is 7.25x5.25x1 inches, I bet it would fit in your travel case to make it a fully portable solution.

The Liger would keep you from needing a new coil.

I have the DNail SiC dish on a slim series base, with a flat coil, and I love it.

If you get a flat coil, you'll have some additional options. You can find them around for $30. Just make sure it's pinned correctly to your box.

I ran some tests on the battery pack to see how it'll hold up for portable use. I plugged it in when the pack was full, set the e-nail to 600F and left it on. I was able to get just under 3 hours until the battery was dead. This is under ideal conditions, using it outside on a cold and/or windy day will obviously reduce this. Unless you dab non-stop this could easily last an afternoon or even a day provided you shut it off in between dabs. It only took just over a minute to reach 600F so it's not a huge pain turning it on and off. So overall I'm pretty happy with it. I'm going to try to find a suitable camera bag for it so I can run it without taking everything out.

======

In different thread related news, I recently gave my SiC Halo a good cleaning to return it to a "like new" state and tried it again after 3 months of just using the Quartz Halo. Hard to say which I like more now, the flavour is awesome once I dialed in the temps, 610F vs 720F on the Quartz. With the buildup removed q-tipping is a dream and I don't have to worry about oil running up the sides and gunking up my carb cap. I think I have enough parts to coil up my Quartz Halo at the same time so I'll try to do some back to back tests to investigate further. I'll try to do the same for the Liger when I get it. Anyway I'm excited, I had almost written off the SiC before but it just needed a good cleaning.

An update: I got my diffusion pump back yesterday.

Joint is fixed, though it's a tad taller now and very slightly crooked. But it's functional and better than being broken.

Anyway, I've been using that replacement 7" Klein incycler for the last month, and I really like it.

I've been curious to know how I would feel after I got the diffusion pump back, to see if it really does have that much more flavor than other rigs.

And it does. It is quite noticeable too. I've been making some really flavorful rosin lately, and while they tasted great through the recycler, the pump really makes it jump out.

I have to get used to the weird sound and draw of the pump, but it's awesome with the SiC dish on it.

Makes me all stoked and want all my dabber friends to try it. Haha.

Dude you gotta taste this!

Does anyone out there know anything about the puff tuff brand enail? I've been trying to figure out how to change the pid settings but all I get is 4 zeros like I need to put in a code or something. I've tried getting ahold of puff tuff but from what I understand they just rebrand and I'm not sure if they even know what pid settings are.

If anyone knows anything I'd appreciate any help I can get. At this point I'm thinking of just buying another enail from a different brand because the box is 250w and I can't find a 250w flat coil anywhere.

I don't know anything about puff-tuff, but the 4 0000 means you are in the correct area to change your PID but without knowing the values you could mess it up. My Divine Tribe unit, the PID functions just like the Auberins unit which has instructions on their website. Try to find out who originally manufactures your PID, and search the net for a manual. I tried to link the Auberins instructions, but don't know if they are the same...

My Sapphire HALO has finally arrived! I've had a busy work day so I've only been able to try a few small dabs so far but they've tasted great. The dish is all frosted white which makes it easy to spot all the stray bits of oil to qtip up after. The dish took on a slight yellow hue after a dab but leaving it at 750F for a couple hours after brought it back to ivory white. It's hard to describe the difference at this point, maybe a bit of a fuller, more complete taste? I'd liken it to high end audiophile headphones which lets you pick up elements of the music that you can't discern with lower quality ones. It will be interesting to see just how much of a difference there is compared to the SiC after using it over time. I'm currently dabbing around 600F but still experimenting.

The headphone comparison is definitely a good one! Sums up the difference nicely!

I'm the person that would buy the high end headphones. Looks like I need a sapphire halo :D

Thanks for sharing!

Still no word when it will be available to us public folks right?

If you can afford it and have tasty concentrates to use with it then you should definitely try to get one. It should hold its value for awhile since they can only make something like 200 a year at the moment.

They didn't publicize it but I think you can still get added to the waiting list to buy one by sending them an email. When you're next in line they'll send you an email and give you 24 hours to buy it or wait for a future batch. You must have missed it but there's whole other thread about it, looks like at least 5 of us got orders in this round so far so there should be more reviews coming soon.

Thanks for the info man. Yep I definitely missed that! I'll see if I can get on the waiting list :)

I've been using the Sapphire HALO pretty heavily since I got it Thursday and so far it's still cleaning up well. To keep it as clean as possible I find I need to thoroughly wipe down the dish with a q-tip right after the dab to try to get the bits on the sides and dish. If you don't it bakes in quickly and you need to bump the temp and wait for it to clean it off. I gradually took it above 750F to 850-900F for a bit and it seemed to to a better job at cleaning it, looked brand new after minus a couple stubborn black spots in the edge. No torching doesn't seem like it will be an issue and it can handle back to back dabs well too without getting too gunked up.

Performance wise it's still great, hits are tasty and smooth at around 600-610F. I just did some back to back hits with the SiC and noticed the difference a bit more but I think they're pretty close with the Sapphire being slightly better with the concentrates I've used with it at comparable temperatures. It's going to take some time to form a more solid opinion since you can only hit so many in a row at a time.

I also picked up the new D-Nail forked dabber for the carb cap. I usually used a separate fork dabber before but this one works pretty well. I really like how it feels in my fingers and it's well balanced.
