Some folks are able to draw very large lung busting hits unlike some of us. I would imagine a guy can draw in way deeper than a female just because of larger lung capacity. A really hard, deep draw with somewhat dry cannabis at 7.5 maybe be ware of combustion with some units.

I keep around 6.5 that works for me and no combustion. Anything above that usually makes me caugh.

A ground medium consistency works for me. . I like my material ground in most of my vaporizers just personal preference on my part. Do what works for you.

I accidentally had mine set at 8.5 the other day. I got a sudden harsh taste created by herb that was somewhere between charred and burned. I like 6.5 which gives me a slightly toasty but sedative hit. I lose some flavor but gain the type of high I'm looking for.

More flavorful hits at 5.75-6, but too sativa-like racy for me. Now, a sativa that I've roasted at a 7 gives a nice twist on things.

Oooooooowee!! Finally got some more beeswax and coated my nano since 7 months ago. DAMN does she look good now. The grain POPS, she was looking dull as heck and I didn't even notice until now.

At first the beeswax goes on hard and you can't really see where it was rubbed on, so I wished I opted for the underdog butter  or something. But turn that sucker up to 6 or 7 and that wax melts right up for you to smear all over! I honestly wish I had a before and after picture.

another day, another combust :(

My prob is taking a quick hit and then setting it down with the nano still on the gong. Then the glass gets super hot, I lean over a min or two later to finish the thing and combustion occurs :(

guess I'll be cleaning my utensils yet again.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, don't leave the nano on the GonG - especially at higher temps! A 15 - 20 second heat soak shouldn't usually be a problem. 2 minutes at lower temp flavor city isn't too bad either - though it will still heat up and not be quite as flavorful. But, 2 minutes at dense cloud heat levels isn't a good idea. Just like baking cookies and leaving them in the oven for 8 times the baking time isn't a good idea.

Also, be aware that every hit pulls heat through the load and dries it out more. Drier material will combust much quicker! Not too big of a deal if you're finishing it up in a few minutes with a couple hits. But taking a hit off a load and letting it sit (without a nano on it) for a couple hours or more will also leave you probably hitting an even drier load because air will dry it out even more. Especially after you've pulled some heat through it and left it sitting in a now warmed up little glass cylinder. Both just more reason why I keep my loads small.

Less is more with the nano. Less of a load, less heat for the most part (IMO), and apparently less time with nano on GonG.

Do most people find this true? That lower temps bring out the sativa-like stimulating characteristics while higher temps bring out some of the sedative qualities? That could explain the variation of effects I've been getting working with the same strain for the last couple of weeks. I've been using lower temps to get more flavor but finding the effect too racy. I guess due to the boiling point of the different cannabinoids and terpenes.

The higher temps are more sedative and for pain. If during the day use lower temps if you have things to do. The taste is better too.

The different nanos vary in temps so see what is your fav temp. It also depends on your cannabis. My nano changes quickly to say 2/10s of a degree.

If it's too harsh I turn my heat down. If I'm not getting enough flavor I turn the heat up.

If I'm using a water tool I may go up to 6.75. That's my top temp usually.

My walnut and cherry units have never combusted. I've had my Nanos for a year.

It's nice to have a stand so there's no problems with tipping. When ordering always get at least an extra mouthpiece or two, to be on the safe side.

It just gets better.

If combusting turn down your heat!!

@CarolKing have you used a HYDRO-TUBE with a NANO?

Well, let's hope the third shell is a charm. It is definitely the lightest (in color) of the three I've had, but she looks good.

Yes I've used the EVO Hydrbomb with the nano. Was that what you were asking @ataxian?

It worked awesome dry. I didn't try it with water yet. I did with the EVO. They are expensive after getting used to Dhgate. I think they are $100. It seems really thick. I took a pic a few pages back.
I guess you got what I was referring to.
I have this custom made HYDRO-TUBE for my EVO.
Today I used it for the NANO.
It worked fine.

My dhgate FC MOUTH-PIECE I will try next.
I love the FLAVOR of the NANO.
The EVO I use before bed.

I have 8 books I'm reading.
5 more waiting behind all Non-Fiction.
NANO & SOLO for reading!
I read a lot however Hitchens wrote this book I'm reading called, "Why Orwell matters"?

What's a good preferably hard shell case to store and protect an E-Nano and its accessories?

Thanks for the info, it really helped me out. Like I said earlier, I've been working with the same strain from my dispensary, trying to learn the ropes of the Nano. I had been trying to optimize flavor, around 5.8 on mine, but it was unpleasantly racey. I thought it was me and didn't consider vape temps. I dialed it up to 6.4 and it was perfect for me- relaxing but not too sedative.

I'll be carefully observing temp effects from now on. I've been using the MFLB since I became a patient and didn't really have that much temp control. I may go out and get an IR temp reader so I can see exactly what temp the Nano core is set up

For a single vapes you can use empty gun cases which are fairly cheap on Amazon and/or eBay. If your collection gets too large you might consider a toolbox are also fairly cheap, Good Luck

I got my enano yesterday, excited to try it out!

I noticed that the glass stem sits on the heater pretty loosely and has about a 10-15 degree tilt if I am not holding it. Is that normal?

Ammo boxes with pick and pull foam look cool and will protect against the apocalypse  http://www.ryot.com/index.php/products/ryot-protective-cases/ryot-destroyer.html like that, although you can make one yourself for 20-30 bucks depending how cheap you can source ammo boxes locally. If you want to go totally over the top you could get a pelican case but they are expensive, the nano is pretty tough and has no glass to break so you could just toss it in the canvas bag it comes in and call it a day.

Yes, a bit of play is normal if it fit too tightly we would all break more glass than @ataxian ;). I don't really use the stem, so I don't notice it with the gong sitting on top, but nano on the gong it tilts a bit. So keep calm and vape on brotha.
