Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

So I got my Omicron v4 and love it. A few not-so-complementary thoughts:

- The button color description is WAY off. It should be yellow > Pink > Green > Blue. Mine is more like Light Green > Purple > Green > Blue.

- The KISS AC 1701 ceramic doughnut chamber design is WAY too short. The depth of coil-based chambers results in less splatter. Try as I might with the ceramic doughnut, that thing is just way too messy and I lose too much to splatter to bother using it again.

- The button should be better protected to prevent accidental use. Maybe recess it, a little lock, a cover, SOMETHING.
Appreciate the feedback on these details. I noticed it was really hard to tell between yellow and green in sunlight, and pink looks purple @THC SCIENTIFIC let me know he's looking into the colors, we'll try to make this easier.

I have to echo this.
Last week, while locked in my bag, my unit turned itself on and went full blast while rolling around in the backpack for almost 45 min.
By the time I went to the back of my car to see what the burning oil smell was, the unit was too hot to pick up.
The only reason I mention this is because I am positive the battery was locked when I stored it.
Sorry to hear about this. Did you happen to test the button to make sure it wasn't firing before stashing it? How was it put away? If it's able to roll around in a moving container perhaps the button was able to activate 5 times and turn on?

You going offer Centauri mode sleeve separate?
Everything else is available seperate..
Not to my knowledge, the Centauri cover is only part of the Alpha Centauri kit. The Alpha Globe kit that's been out at Delta 9 vapes & OV will get upgraded to a v2 style. @masaki I welcome your thoughts on this. Do you think there would be many Alpha Globe owners wanting to add on Centauri mode, compared to those who simply purchased the AC kit as a whole?

I recently was updated to the new touch Persei. it worked fine with my sr-74x but now it will randomly blink three times and shut off. What is the issue here.

batteries are aw imr and fully charged.
The Hercules is an attachment for the Persei vaporizer. I'm happy to help out one-on-one, too, but the Omicron thread isn't the best place for Persei troubleshooting.

It was stored in a backpack and there was most certainly enough room for it to move around and activate 5 times in a row.
From now on I will disconnect the battery from the cart before I store it as a secondary precaution.
I think it is definitely worth looking into for future revisions on the Omicron.

I've had this beauty since Saturday and I see it taking the role of my beloved OPhos as my daily driver.

My experience with oil is almost exclusively through G and W9Tech. I remember sitting with him when I picked up my first Omicron. I told him it was like Captain Picard had stepped off the bridge of the enterprise to give me a vaporizer.

In addition to his original carts, I’ve used the Omicron and Persei with the Thermovape Revolution and Sapphire carts as well, and had a short stint with the BHolt before the toxic glue reveal. From the original Omicron, all the way through the Ophos and Kiss Carts, G’s innovation has kept many of us on the cutting edge of safe, smart, concentrate vaporizing.

The v4 is in keeping with G’s constant envelope pushing, with it’s larger chamber, dual coils(of much higher quality material than the Kiss carts it appears), and adjustable, higher heat settings. Nicely designed, hearty and substantial, it feels great in your hand.
Vapor production is fantastic, I mentioned to G it reminded me of my Crafty in that you will be drawing, thinking you’re getting no vapor, then you exhale and are surprised at the volume.

Only downside I can imagine is the colored lights being an issue for our color blind brethren, but knowing G, he's is considering a fix for that.

I’m always excited when G introduces something new, it’s almost always a game changer and with the v4 I’m feeling the excitement again.

Thanks G!

The unit is really solid, I love the greater stability the wider base provides when standing it up.
Careful not to overfill, the larger chamber is inviting, but it also makes loading MUCH easier!
Have been using the default mouthpiece, but need to put some time into the using the glass for comparison. Will do and post.

I spoke to G about a small case for the unit and he anticipates one in the near future. I use my Grasshopper leather sleeve over the mouthpiece of my Omicron for a great, smell proof "case".
@Ratchett , any thoughts?

G has probably already posted this but here's a great cleaning tutorial he sent me, good for Kiss carts and the new Omi chamber. Haven't had to use it with the new Omi yet, and I imagine, if you use clean material, and you're careful about not overfilling, you shouldn't have to clean the new Omi NEARLY as much as you would your Kiss carts.

You called?

Lol, what are you to trying to odor-proof? I have plenty of options - vinyl caps, 3D printed TPU, leathercrafting, etc. PM me and I'm sure I can come up with a solution to the problem

Hey guys, I've been havin some trouble with a 1701 AC doughnut atomizer on my omicron v4. It heats up but will randomly blink 3 red lights, especially on the first pulse and cut off the hit at 13 watts. It doesn't seem to do it at 16 watts, but I think that it is too hot for the doughnut. There's no oil on the threads and it's on really tight. I've also tried less tight and it does it. What's goin on?

EDIT: There was oil on the threads. Just not the exposed ones, I had to unscrew a nut from under the atomizer that houses one end of the ti wire. I iso qtipped all around in there and wiped the wire off and it fixed my problems.

Does your battery have the words v1.0 on the bottom? in either case please contact us at support@w9tech.com and we will get the issue resolved asap.

It does indeed have v1.0 on the bottom. It will almost always work on the second fire, and the double coil seems to work without a hitch. I got 5 replacement doughnuts to rebuild with. The double coil has been excellent to me so far, but I wanna get the doughnuts going too. I've sent you guys an email!

ok i can assure you that the batteries that didnt have a v1.0 on them had a factory defect and contact support as you are entitled to a free replacement and coils for your trouble.

Looking underneath the bottom unscrewable part of the atomizer there is oil I missed right on the ti wire for one end of the connection.. I think the very first time I tried to load the thing instead of wicking into the stone some may of escaped down below. I never realized oil could get under the unscrew-able part. I'll report back if iso qtipping under the unscrewable part fixes the problem. I have a feeling it might since when its hot it seems not to do it.

Edit:

Oooooh boooy. I dropped the nut down my drain. Well, I guess I'm going to need that coil after all maybe. It's probably still before the U-Bend in my sink. Doh!

Edit 2:

It works, and I'm now a certified plumber! I've never removed a sink trap before. So after thoroughly iso-wiping the wire and nut then screwing the nut back on the atomizer tightly and qtipping down below and tugging on the firing pin and screwing it all together tightly it works. If you don't want this to happen to you, melt absolutely minimal amounts of oil into your wick and always draw on the unit while pushing the button. That was not fun!

Has anyone tried pairing the AC v2 with an eVic VTC Mini?

Also curious if anyone has tried the quartz coils from oilvaporizer.com. I find it strange that w9 directly don't sell the quartz.....

I've been using the AC v2 not on an evic vtc mini, but on an iStick TC100W. It works flawlessly both in power mode and temperature control mode.

Haven't tried the quartz coils from OV yet, but it's on my "to buy" list lol.

I've been using quartz coils on other pens recently and have noticed a slight step up in flavor. But, some oil runs right off the Quartz, while the ceramic wicks in the AC coils do a much better job of absorbing the oil.

Yep it works great. For the VTC Mini I created a new TCR setting M2 at 352. Running 390F on 12w. Don't forget to lock the resistance when the cart is cold.

Good Day UpTech fans, and those with an Evic VTC mini. New firmware allows for custom logos! Now I can represent UP Tech in style!! @elmoe420 , @SamuraiSam , @THC SCIENTIFIC

I have been loving my Omicron V4, so much so I bought a 2nd one after I got my upgrade! When the Omicron's stealth battery is not needed, I put the ACv2 on the Evic VTC mini. I love the whole package... the fact that it is 510 drip tip compatible is even better! Now custom Burl Wood tips are an option!!

If you haven't picked up a new Omicron V4... I HIGHLY recommend it. Best Pen Option on the market for concentrates, and clearly as customizable as you want to make it with all of the Alpha cart options.

@zombied , Don't hesitate! It is a great combo. I also like the quartz dual coils but the newer deeper cup dual coil ceramic wick atty's are AWESOME for flavor!

Are v2 omicron owners able to send in their unit to upgrade to a v4 now? Would love to send mine in but I remember having to wait since I got it in the January sale.

I'm 99% sure w9 doesn't make the quartz ones.

I think the flavor is better with the ceramic and it has a bit more of a heat up time which I like. The quartz ones have smaller coils and quartz doesn't really absorb or hold wax. Maybe I've just never run it low enough, but it always seems to run much hotter than the ceramic ones and mess with the flavor more. The cup is tiny and deep too which is a plus or minus I guess depending on how you use it. My evic tc mini always sputters in tc mode and usually jumps out of it to power mode so I can't comment on them in tc mode.
