I found once a piece is combusted in, u never get that pure vape taste again, and it takes several washes to get it to be semi-tasteless :2c:
Im all about taste, and I have never noticed this, although maybe I just clean it right. I noticed a big flavor difference between my DBV and my MW with it but no smoke taste. Ill try to take a webcam pic of the piece in the next few days after i clean it but its gonna be a crappy webcam pic... i gotta get a camera

High Sigh,
I personally own the Mobius Matrix ion and a Luke wilson 15 arm dewaar bubbler. Ive also hit the reti perc a couple of times at a friends house and it is nothing special. I suggest paying more for the better matrix perc.

IMHO, if your using your tube for vapor i prefer my Luke wilson 15 arm bubbler. But thats just my personal preference.

edit: i didnt see what cannahound wrote. I agree with him. It is harder to milk my mobius. I get milkier vape hits because of the drag in my LW 15 arm

Yea, that Mbius is $330 at ALT. I am also looking into a Itza 5/8 Mini Tube on BM. It's listed at $260 today. I don't know anything about Itza, anyone?

It's all opinion, just gotta find what you like! I have a LW 15 arm. And It was one of my favs until I got the retti ion. Personally I love the little resistance it gives, I get great clouds and good dabs out of it. Luckily I've passed on my 15 arm to my gf as shes a big fan of it as well. Unfortunately I haven't tried a plain matrix perc, but I have a nano with matrix in it. It's great! But I also got a SG 75mm natty king stemline and in terms of flavor, it blows the nano out of the water. Nano tends to hit smoother though.

Nice, vaporboxed! Do you follow the nuggetry too?
I was seriously coming to this thread tonight to post a video about chico kush tubes
Specifically the puckline percolator (the puckolator looks a bit overkill hehe)

It looks like an awesomely functional perc from a new glass company

Here's a video review that talks a lot about how it functions with comparisons to the mobius matrix (and bigg dabs)

Pretty fairly priced too, 89 holes+worked and its under $400 here

They got a nice lil statement at the top of the website too:
"Custom orders available: contact us for your next custom project. Pucklines, stemlines, percs, inlines, etc....
I'd love a puckline in a smaller tube, perfect for a hard hitting vape.

Tstat: Itza does great work IMO/E; they run a good business as well. Sounds like you won't be buying direct but FWIW the folks that handle customers (and blow glass for that matter) are extremely receptive. On the art side of things MTP holds it down nicely (and was a nice fellow to meet to boot) and functionally Joe is continually innovating.

Read about the the "puckolator/puckline" a while back when I think they were still developing. It looks (from this side of a computer screen) like they do very nice work. I will say, I sometimes worry about the arms race that has developed amongst designs (read: who can fit more holes/slits/grids in the smallest "perc") and bubble-stacking.

That said, I'm more of a minimalist when it comes to glass than I was a year ago. Give me a nice (read: quality and construction), small and evenly pulling piece and I'm happy...distinctions in diffusion styles are mostly personal preference IMO. In the end, finding out what you like in a piece of glass is a worthy and entertaining endeavor.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
I'll be in the market for an Itza Nano once liquidchrome in Ontario goes live online shopping sometime soon (and of course starts carrying the Nano line of Itza). I really 'DO' like the Itza workings.

I just found that being a Canadian and trying to converse with Itza direct (outside of BM) is near impossible for myself.

I found itza glass on their website for sale... Pretty decent prices too IMO.

also has anyone ever bought from Kulture's online store?

I've heard that they are pretty legit.

They have this philpot thats pretty much exactly like the ones on High priority but its only 300. dual disc and 12'' tall...man I've spent a lot of money recently though.

I got my mobius nano and ion from Kulture. I managed to get the Ion during one of their sales and got 30% off. So far I like them a TON more than ALT as their customer service is a lot better.

On a side note I find smaller pieces like the Philpot and Starm mini have reacquainted me with the pleasures of DBV... Take that EQV! :D
Don't know if Puckline is out yet but I'm in contest to win one on BM... They have store on BM.

Pappy,
Kulture is awesome man. They are in Richmond Va and they have good customer service and ship fast.

I live nearby but i got all my orders the next day. Once they forgot some cleaner in my order and on my next order they hooked my up with two cleaners.

Ouch! If u combust how can u claim to be all about taste? Maybe we just have different opinions of what taste is. So ure telling me that after u burn a bowl "and clean it right" u can draw through it with nothing in it and its tasteless? I somehow doubt this unless your method is one that nobody else knows about it. Maybe u just have a higher tolerance to the taste, I am super rediculous at keeping glass clean. :peace:

Edit: Damn auto correct

All im sayin is I dont notice a difference in taste between my dedicated vape bong(which i have never combusted through) and my stem/8 (which is combusted through daily, rarely by me though i must add) other than loss of flavor due to diffusion. Your taste buds must be superior to mine

I tend to notice an extremely major difference in flavour between my combustion piece and my strictly vaping piece to the point where i cant stand even using my just scrubbed combustion piece, just my opinion.

Tstat- I'm sorry to snag that Itza if you were interested. I'll have to make it up to you somehow? :)

Pappy- That Starm is so cute, yet still looks very comfortable. Just so many toys, I want them all.

I will let everyone know how the Itza 5arm to 8 arm stacks up to the competition I mean collection. :) To put the icing on the cake, I hopefully just got one of the coolest pieces I have ever seen; if life decides to smile upon me, I will hopefully have pics of a new Itza and mystery piece sometime soon.
All I want to say about the piece is "Cirbine" is an awesome combination; circ, turbine, I mean really; just imagine the gridded possibilities at 13"tall...

About this Puckolator stuff; that is one bad-ass bubble machine! I really wish I could afford to order a custom Puckolater from them right now, but I am waiting to see more of the type 4 they have been working on to see if I really need to order a custom on a tube I want clear?

Now for this Smoke and water debate; I have most definitely had a tube which had a permanent smoke taste, to the point I gave it away! With that said, I have purchased a brand new piece with this taste when I got the brand new tube home and first tried it; that was from a LHS. A little pissed at first, a quick ISO rinse followed by triple rinse with water then finally R/O water I am lucky enough to have on tap and no smell ever again...

I think part of the variance can be attributed to effective ash catcher use, sanitary practices, and whether left even overnight with dirty water... I have no proof, just my opinions after first experiencing this back in the rubber grommet slide days; rubber grommets if used seem to permanently absorb the smell...
Lastly, I have found that although I purchased a dedicated oil rig, using a glass/Titanium nail, or even a Ti-skillet has not left any discernible aftertaste if the piece is properly cared for....

Everyone's definition of proper is different; my routine is rinse with R/O before and after use. 91% alcohol rinse at least once per week, most of the time every other day or so if I decide to use the same piece exclusively.

gotta run... be back with pics soon.

Is there something functional "going on" up at the top of the mouthpiece? Looks kind of unique.

Or is that just aesthetic design?
Functional... It's a double reduction and imagine it serves as an ice pinch. The mouthpiece also serves as a lip basin bc the neck is quite wide -- 44mm. But effectively the neck is only about 20mm wide bc of the reductions. Form following function is Philpot's religion. Can't wait to try the super-sized diffused disc and photograph my mini and maxi side by side. :)
