Hitting an 8" Philpot is like hitting an extension of your hand. It's the most personal pipe I own. And with the prototype diffused disc mine hits like a Swiss Perc. Yours double disc is one of Mike's tried and true models, although no two are alike, each is unique. The acorn variation you sniped is my fave can and the most functional IMO.Tstat said:

Mobius matrix ion bub arrived today, FINALLY!! But honestly this this is unreal. Had to work right after it got here so only got to rip one elbow through it. Stacks bubbles effortlessly, perfect size, thick glass, flawless. I even like the logos and I hate logos in general. Can't wait to get off and 10 and rip it again!

Hi All,
I want to apologize in advance if I am uploading too many pictures of my latest customized set-ups... I just don't feel like my stuff is worthy of it's own thread? I also want to apologize for the length of my posts, I never seem to fit all the details into a short sentence.
I have been very impressed with the quality and functionality of my most recent purchases. So much in fact, I just photographed and painstakingly packaged the seven or eight pieces I bought before I purchased my first piece by Mobius; I don't have room for everything and I feel really guilty having perfectly good glass sitting in boxes. After I bought that Nano w/Matrix, it became clear I was going to be collecting more glass like that Matrix... So when I have time to edit all of the pictures, I'll list some items in the classified section for really cheap, just to get them into the hands of someone who needs them.

As for Matrix V. Zero Drag on the Nano; I am on the fence. I broke my matrix the day before I discovered the "Toys-r-us" of Mobius retailers; where I bought the zero drag, Ion matrix, and Liquid Scientific Jacuzzi tube. Not to mention two days later going back to buy the Mobius stemless stereo matrix. I feel lucky to have a LHS with an inventory rivaling ALT, pricing is just the icing on the cake!
The following impressions are from memory regarding the Matrix nano: I feel like the matrix has a smoother, purring type of pull with possibly more diffusion if water level is above the top of the Matrix perc. In my experience, this is where the Matrix shines, the water level can easily be above the matrix perc while still retaining an incredibly low amount drag. This is just as true with the stereo matrix and ion bubbler; all three of these matrix percs I have owned all stack to the top of the chamber with as little drag as most of my other tubes; the only exception would be the waffle tube, which is like a machine gun when you clear it, just doesn't stack bubbles like the matrix.
The Zero Drag in my opinion may very well have slightly less drag overall than the Matrix, but the difference is only my opinion, no actual scientific measurements. The zero drag does not have as smooth of a feel as the Matrix, but Pappy really said it best when he described the Nano Zero drag as having an "asynchronous chug". The zero drag perc also seems more sensitive to water level, where the matrix has low drag thru a wide range of water levels.
While I admittedly prefer the super smooth, ultra-diffused feel of my Matrix percs; I absolutely love my Zero Drag nano, more than enough diffusion and the more chugging feel has grown on me quite a bit. Now the Reti perc is a different story, at least for me. I bought a "Clear Reti" bubbler from ALT two days before I discovered the Mobius super store where I could have saved some serious money; anyways, the Reti perc chugs so hard it actually shakes the table! no joke. It doesn't stack bubbles to the top like the matrix, but something about all of those massive bubbles blasting all over the place provides diffusion at least on par with the Zero Drag perc in my Nano or the Matrix perc in my Ion bubbler. Of all the pieces shown below, the Reti may be the only one I could bring myself to part with. For nothing other than personal preference.

Yes the Mobius ion is truely something else, I had never actually seen a Mobius of any kind before I orderer this piece, and was honestly a little skeptical because of it. However I quickly changed my mind one I held it and took my first breath through it. Next piece on my list is probably some sort of smallish stemless tube with low chug so I've been considering the Mobius stereo and shower matrix tubes. Cabman hound u say u like your jaccuzi tube more then your stereo matrix?

MR. Smoke No More: Here is the story of how I bought a piece I've never heard of...
I was looking at the couple dozen Hitman tubes at my new favorite LHS when a guy from Liquid Scientific just happened to pop in to say hi to the owner. Since the owner was sort of helping me out, and being the kind of guy I am, I immediately butted into their conversation. As we were talking and the gentlemen from Liquid was asking about who my favorite artists are, I showed him some of the Mobius I was buying and also mentioned the Hitman we were standing in front of. I was asking the blower all sorts of questions regarding different pieces what he considers quality... Then the owner of the LHS happened to say to me, "his Liquid Scientific Jacuzzi tube is very similar to the latest Hitman percs; only difference is Liquid Scientific has been producing that perc for over three years." I obviously ask if the shop has any I can look at, ten seconds later a Jacuzzi tube with water was being hit by the owner(water test/no herbs). He motioned for me to try it out and I told him not to bother, just wrap one up for me. Just seeing bubbles stacked to the splash guard and a nearly identical height as a Nano was enough to sell me. When I did finally give in to a water test, I almost bought a second I was that impressed. I'm pretty sure my first custom will come from Liquid; I really like the amount of function for such a small size.
The Jacuzzi percs consists of two disc percs with many small holes. It is designed to function identically upright and tipped rearward due to the placement of the holes in the lower disc. The size of this tube is perfect for me, 13"tall and well under 50mm diameter. To top it off, the diffusion is second to none in my collection. As soon as you start to inhale and the stem clears of water, the drag reduces to near zero and it sounds/feels a little like a turbine engine winding up on an airplane. Even with a fully loaded VHW slide or milky thick bag from my Oracle, the Jacuzzi keeps my throat and lungs from drying out, time after time; with bubbles stacked to the splash guard every hit...
Don't get me wrong, I am in love with my new Mobius Stereo Matrix. It stacks bubbles to the top of the chamber, and is my other go to piece along with the Jacuzzi tube. The Stereo Matrix may clear the chamber a little faster than the liquid, but without a doubt the Liquid Scientific holds its own and more. My only complaint with my Mobius stemless is the lack of splash guard which would be useful due to the massive stacks the stereo matrix produces.
Bottom line: I am a glass whore and herb snob! I do however consider myself blessed every single day I get to vaporize thru these brilliant pieces of glass.

Here is the best shot I have of the Stereo Matrix water test, I will shoot some more tonight or tomorrow using both the VHW3.0 and the Oracle via bag... Either way, you need them both; don't worry
As for video, my Powershot SX210is shoots video, as well as my wife's 5dmkII; the only problem is I can barely get pictures up here, a video seems daunting at the moment. Regardless, I will figure the video thing out and post em up when I get done. To be honest, I need to finish my review of the Oracle before I start trying to make videos; but hopefully I will have an Oracle review and some videos up by the end of the weekend barring disaster.

When I saw the showerhead matrix perc you posted last night I instantly went searching on youtube.
Couldn't find much of it, but did find lots of the stereo matrix.

CH- great pics. And it's just my opinion, but I like it when people post a lot of nice shots- and yours are nice. I want a new Mobius bub now, but I am going to wait. I am more interested in a nice cabinet with glass doors to safely store everything. Haven't found one yet, but still looking.
Is ALT the only online place to get Mobius? I like all those different percs- so fancy!!

Global has many thousands of other options and cool things. I have been trying to decide between one(several actually) of their wall mountable tilt-out storage units, for ftgs and such. I am torn between the Tilt-outs and wall mounted bins??? Sorry to digress
Even Home Depot has a plastic Garage organizer wall cabinet I finally noticed the other day; looked like it would do the job for under seventy-five or so. Could always make a cabinet really easily with 12" lumber, several cuts, and some fasteners But if you are anything like me, it will be much cheaper to buy one from Global than build an oak cabinet with glass doors, mirrors, lights, etc..
Here is an Oracle bag I just dropped into the Jacuzzi tube, I think that was vaped at 380f using well under 1/2 gram with no stir and only one extraction...
