Dear all,
thank you for your informative comments and your patience with me for occasionally using the word "smoking" instead of "vaping". :cool:I should have expected the members of a forum called fuckcombustion to push back on this.

Here information in response to some of your queries.
1.) I get good clouds and airflow at all temps
2.) The flower is an even brown after vaping
3.) The broken up hash gets more dry and a bit darker. (I have no idea how to tell if hash is completely vaped through. I just vape it until I don't get any more smoke.
4.) The mighty is original, bought directly from S&B's website.

As a point of clarification, when I say I felt a slight high while vaping I mean the following: Imagine taking a few puffs from a joint. If you stop there you will feel a slight buzz, comparable to the buzz you feel after having 2 beers. No where near enough to be drunk or even tipsy but you feel something. This is most certainly not me being high. I know what being high on a vaporizer feels like. I remember the first time I vaped in college. I used a friend's flowermate and after 4-5 hits I was definitely high. Probably higher than I'd been for months previously, smoking.

So I do not think that my current situation can be entirely ascribed to the difference in highs when smoking or vaping.

Tonight I will give it another shot since I'm seeing Batman v Superman with my girl. I'm getting some very potent hash delivered from a reliable source that I've used on multiple occasions. This should remove the variable of bad weed / hash. In a joint with some tobacco this hash definitely gets the job done. I don't think it should be bad weed, since I previously vaped 4 different strains of flower + hash and wax which were all acquired from different sources.

Could someone clarify how exactly I can test the cooling unit. I don't notice anything special when taking a hit but then again, what do I know?

I'd say I have the average tolerance of a semi daily smoker but considering how much I vaped I don't think that this is too much of a factor. I suppose it is possible that I just have to cycle of smoking for a few weeks. I will report back how things work out tonight.

Cheers,
Felix
Regarding testing the cu for air leaks, just remove it from the base. With the mouthpiece twisted open for use, put your thumb over the intake hole on the underside (where the screen is). While your thumb is covering the intake hole, try to draw on the mouthpiece. You should not be able to draw. If you can, there's a leak in the cu somewhere.

I hope this helps.

I'm honestly dumbfounded...

How did you get high off the Flowermate and not the Mighty? That doesn't seem possible... When I vape on my buddies Flowermate, it's the biggest tease in life; feels like I'm wasting herb and combusting it would be better.

I started vaping about a year ago and I was an ounce every two weeks type of guy. I smoked joints, blunts and the occasional bong hit. I was able to convert almost instantly with the Crafty... if I bought a flowermate instead, that would probably be my last vaporizer cause I would automatically think vaping sucks.

I consider myself to have a fairly high tolerance and I can get pretty high off my Mighty. If I vaped as much as you did, I would probably be in bed for a few hours. Either your tolerance is Godly, you're not used to the vape high or your unit is defective. There is just no way... no way you can only feel slightly buzzed after vaping that much.

I was about to state vaping in general is a much cleaner high and maybe that's why you don't "feel" it as much, however you said the Flowermate got you blasted so I'm confused as hell...

Quick question. Is it possible for the Flowermate to combust material when pushed? This might explain...

Hello everyone, just got my Mighty in the mail today! Have to wait to get home to test this bad boy out. Few questions, are there any burn off methods? Does everyone here use the orange grinder it came with?what the least amount of herb one can pack without using the liquid pad? I dont have a scale, in terms of the chamber being 1/3 or half full.

- no need to do a burn-off. some people would say it's actually a bad idea, but IDK.
- the orange grinder works just fine. mighty doesn't need an extra-fine grind like some vaporizers
- I find it works best if the bowl is gently packed, not loose. you can use the clear plastic piece from the loading tool, or the orange tool, to tamp down the load. without the pad, the tamped-down 'material' should come up to the top of the metal part of the bowl. put another way: filling the chamber 1/2 or 1/3 full, without using the pad, will result in less-than-optimal performance - too loose.
- if your tolerance isn't super-high (probably the case, if you're asking about 1/3 full bowls...), you might want to try the liquid pad - it's not just for concentrates. the mighty is very efficient, so, tolerance allowing, you can vape small loads nicely. plus the liquid pad (on top) helps keep the cooling unit screen cleaner.
- another reason to use the pad when you don't have a full bowl is the fact that the mighty is a 'session vape', meaning it's cooking the herb even when you're not drawing (the conduction part - it's hybrid convection/conduction) - better to just load what you're going to use. the good news is how great a job mighty does with smaller loads (even-colored ABV every time! no green bits to be found.).

hope this helps! enjoy!

How much do you make the temp drop every hit?
(Leaking cu aside) if you take a hard bonglike hit for 10+ seconds the mighty should drop at least 8 degrees under the set point.
...if the CU is working properly that should give you great results...if not...at lest the firewood is cheaper! But most (of not all) of us would prefer a mighty.
It was that vape that make me completely say fuck combustion.

It sure did, thanks! The issue I have had with the liquid pad, is when I used a volcano a few times with herbs and the liquid pad and found that the vapor was harsher, drier and had a metallic taste to it. Is there anything else that I can use to fill in the void where more herb should be?

There is no degradation of flavor with the Mighty pads. I use the pads with pretty much every bowl....I load precisely .1 grams, place the pad on top, and get pretty much the perfect amount of vapor in any given session. It's really a great way to use the Mighty....it mitigates the device's somewhat deserved rep as a weed-hog, and as mentioned above, it really keeps the CU clean.

Circular pipe screens work great and don't gunk up. Some like cutting them in pacman shapes and making them dome shaped for easy removal...I dont like working that hard.

Waaaay cheaper than liquid pads too!

I've personally done away with the liquid pad and get GREAT results no matter the amount of material or how loose or tight I pack. With the mighty technique is never required but if you can control your draw the liquid pad becomes obsolete Imo. The mighty is an awesome and very efficient vape.

I don't find the Mighty to be a weed hog at all. Perhaps I'm a heavy user?

I find that I use less overall with my Mighty than I do in my Herbie. I also find that the Mighty is doing a really good job of evenly cooking the bowl.

I had my Mighty for around 15 months when it finally died last week (one of the first units - serial no. 12xx). It would not turn on at all. I suspected it was just the ON/OFF switch, so contacted S&B and told them that.

They sent me a UPS free return label, which I printed and attached to the box containing my Mighty and sent off.

The UPS man was just here and guess what? S&B gave me a fully boxed brand new unit with all accessories! This is the best customer service I have had in years - no questions asked and with a turnaround time of around 1 week. Amazing!

Storz and bickel never treats me that well...makes me irritated to see there is a difference in the way they treat people...but it's nothing new, it has been discussed at great lengths before.
Glad they took care of you though!

I've had mine since May of last year and it has been issue free. I hadn't used it in about a month or two since I got a GH. Well yesterday I took it out and used it. Started at 365 and bumped it up in increments of 20f, until I finished it at 410. It was really tasty and the vapor was super cool, unlike the GH. I think I'll start using it more now.
@WakeAndVape Maybe they couldn't fix it?

My wife and I are currently living in Spain, so it was returned to Germany. The new serial number is totally different from the old one. The old one was MY00012xx. The new one is as follows (whereby 'x' stands for a number and 'Y' for a letter): MYxxYxYY.

My new unit also has different o-rings and the revised top fin section. The Masters is about to start on TV here, so you know what time it is......

Maybe, but they have outright lied on more than one occasion (to me anyway) they just seemed inexperienced...maybe now they have changed. We'll see...the mighty IS in for service. I even paid for next day shipping (S.O.B.'s)

This new Mighty maintains temps MUCH better than my old one. Taking a large hit through a water piece on my old Mighty, I would start at 180°C and the temp would drop to about 171°C when finished. With the new one, the temp only drops 2° or 3° total even when ripping it.

I'm liking the serial number format change, I can only think it points to something meaningful having changed inside the Mighty.

So, have you gotten rid of all vapes because of the mighty? I have a volcano, aromed(high end whip vape) and a solo, would I only want a mighty?

I've used my Aromed once since I got my mighty back in November... It's not perfect, but pretty, pretty, pretty good.

I owned a special edition Aromed for 11 years and loved it. However, the Mighty produces vapor that is 95% as good, while being portable and having no easily breakable glass parts. That was enough for me to sell the Aromed.

Just wanted to say that I got my mighty from s&b under warranty exchange for my dead crafty. I have to say I'm super happy with the mighty. Heat up time is half that of the crafty, the housing was updated and it much more solid, they reinforced the ribs that broke on my crafty. Larger cooler keeps the vapor nice and cool even when sharing and passing around. The cooler now snaps and locks. I'm also getting 2 sessions per battery bar! Additionally when drawing hard the temp only drops maybe 1-2 degrees while on the crafty it would go down 5-10.

Overall I'm super happy! I did love my crafty but now that I have a mighty I wouldn't go back.

Same boat here. I made the switch and appreciate these differences over the crafty;
-much faster heatup times (on a full charge, slows slightly near empty)
-quicker charging times
-back to back sessions without overheating or running out of power
