Hey there! So as far as I know, the ELB actually functions best when it is NOT full. In fact I find best results around 1/3rd to 1/2 of the way full. You probably want to avoid tamping it down, because the Evo uses some sort of "turbulent air technology" or something along those lines, which I believe means it works better if the material is packed in loosely. Hopefully this is helpful!

I also fill my ELBs between 1/4 and 1/2. I find I can hit one basket at various increasing temps for maximum extraction...

I mapped out the temperatures to the various clock positions and based on some temp charts I've collected recently, found the recommended optimal temps for anti inflammatory relief (my primary goal with MMJ).

I start at 9 for flavorful, pretty cloudy hits (and to get my day started on a high note ;p). Then 10, 11, and 1 throughout the day for anti inflammatory relief - not much cloud but you can start to taste that toasty flavor... By bedtime I dump the basket, grind it down into a powder and take one final hit at 2:30 on the dial. This pretty much kills it. I'm saving the ABV but I doubt there's much of anything left in the toasted brown powder.

I'm torn between either purchasing the Hydrabomb or the Turbine. Its sooo hard to choose!


I own Steven's Hydratube from DHgate and also Steven's FC-187.

If I buy the Hydrabomb, part of me will regret it because its so similar to the FC-187.

How much flavor can you compare between Steven's Hydratube and the Vapexhale's Turbine?

Your way hard core compared to me.

I never go beyond 12:00 and the FLAVOR/EFFECT is DEVASTATING!

GOD'S GIFT is way strong for day time in a EVO.

GSC almost ready!
Tomorrow I hope I have a new batch, this GG is too strong. (for me, not for you)

So you just scoop it in completely loose, to about halfway, and at noon on the dial you might get what, 6-7 hits? So it seems like it packs small to give big hits, so maybe more likely to refill the EVO for multiple sessions than with a portable?

I normally smoke with the old lady, and it's fine if I have to pack a couple ELB's per session I'll just have to get used to it. Normally one chamber of the Haze will get me and the old lady pretty loaded and we'll kill 1 per session, but I tamp it a bit with a screw head down to about 3/4 of the screen and I would guess it's more than 2x the material than I'm putting in the EVO.

It's so weird because when you watch the video's with the EVO ELB or just see pics of it, it seems like they are so big and so much is going in there. Looking forward to more testing tonight :D

Yep, I exactly do that. Start at 12 take a couple hits, then 1:30 and 2:30 to finish. Sometimes is already done at 1:30 because I forgot to raise the temp and I don't even go for 2:30, it depends how long the EVO has been on. I usually plug the evo at max, wait a few minutes and put it at noon and wait a couple of minutes there. After that I can have my EVO on for hours without any problem, just remember to shut it off and on so the auto-shutoff doesnt arrive.

For concentrates I just soak some heat at max, go back to 12:00 and it's "flavourtown" time. Love my EVO with concentrates :rockon:

That's my only complaint with the EVO - I wish the temp dial was more accurate and the same across all devices, that way when someone says "Harlequin flower in ELB at 10 o'clock on the dial is perfect," other users can have a similar experience when they try it.

My best desk top is a EVO.

Those that get the kit with the water tool. You don't get a regular mouthpiece with that. One didn't come with mine. I bought a couple regular mouthpieces, I'm really glad I did. I like a session vape so the regular mouthpiece works well for a 10 min session. Not necessarily a lung buster or anything unless I want to - meaning I can be a sipper.

Just got Steven's FC-187 in the mail today :D If they're giving out any hydratubes for 4/20, I think I will go with the Turbine instead of the Hydrabomb.

I got the turbine only because the others were sold out but it seems most people have that one i'm fine with it works and taste great

I have a history of breaking glass so I had a custom hydro foot blown onto the base.
It's crooked (perck) however it works!

Now I have no more baskets and no nails.
I think to stir is better than squeeze?

I have other vaporizers I can use.

My EVO i love the flavor but I can't use it anymore?

GonG's I break however the Baskets are even more fragile. (should of stirred)

I guess I need to customize attachments with unbreakable materials for myself.

There's no market for un-breakables so I will make some for my use.

I hold the ELB between my thumb and index finger and shake it around to "stir." Sometimes I flick them with my finger like a nurse would do to get air bubbles out of a syringe (usually only do this with a very fine keif-like grind).

You shouldn't squeeze the ELB's, they're a bit fragile :(

@ataxian The methods @covercash suggested are very good! Alternately, I have a little dab tool that I like to stick into the basket to gently stir things around. Bonus, this usually grinds up the material a little bit extra so I can get a few more hits out of it!

(Wish I could use the dab tool for actual dabs, but alas concentrate is hard to come by around these parts. At least using it with my ELBs make it feel handy!)
