After a couple of months with the Vapcap, I can confidently say that it is the overall bestest herb consumption tool I have ever used period!

Whenever I try to vape with my once beloved Vapman or Lotus these days (my bro's Lotus currently) I immediately wish I wouldn't and I have an extra session with the vapcap right away to return to normality and superior vapor production... Really!

Cocobolo will be on par. In fact probably all dense hardwoods will be just fine!

Think about the abuse a wooden spoon gets, and those last for years...and are usually made from a relatively soft wood like cherry or birch..
I have large stretched ears and I've worn wooden plugs for years and at most they discolor slightly and sometimes the grain needs to be knocked back down with a light sanding and reoil. Those are hardwoods worn directly against a mucus membrane for 12-18 hours at a time. I have a piece of Lignum Vitae, sometimes called Ironwood, that I've worn in a piercing for 4 years at 24 hours a day and the only maintenance it's needs is a wipe down once a week and a drop of oil every few months. (Fun fact, Lignum Vitae sinks in water.)

My concern with using hardwoods as a mouthpiece would be that some species can cause pretty horrific allergic reactions when in constant contact with skin. The body jewelry industry has down pretty extensive testing on this. https://wiki.bme.com/index.php?title=Wood_Hazards

Rad post and link; I would like to state for the record that 12 hour prolonged contact between the mouthpiece and your lips is probably against the manufacturer's intended use instructions ;)

Definitely need @VapCap to add a disclaimer to this effect, and to mention the possible allergic responses to the quinones in the hardwood varieties, to keep him in the safe zone.

I bought a UD probably a month or so ago and once I got the OV its the only thing I have been using because it's on demand. I hate waiting 10-20mins for the UD to heat up, but the vapor production is on point when its already warm. I use the OV while the UD heats up but by the time the UD is warm enough im too stoned to use it.

The finish will help quite a bit along with only momentary contact.

The biggest issue is for people like me that have huge lists of known allergens and probably just as many unknown. I had a pair of safe wood plugs made out of a material I had already worn successfully. The artist used a piece of sandpaper that he had used for another species and some of the oils and dust got left behind and trapped in the finish. I had a reaction so bad that my eyes swelled shut and I almost lost my ear lobs.

Feel the same
Once i was using vapman while nano was heating, now I use vapcap or OV (since I got it) and strangely after a long time I did bring back in use my solo (on 7 with an orbiter) mainly for its bigger bowl

@natural farmer didn't you announced a months lasting T-break not very long ago? Am I missing time passing so badly or did you abandon the idea?

I couldn't stand it in the detox center... Lasted one and a half seek and not because I missed the herbs. Lawyer and me will have to find other ways to soften the judge's ruling.

I swear we are in the same boat I got my UD about a month before my OV. Might I suggest just leaving your UD plugged in and grab a dimmer to keep it on low when you are not at home. Keeps the heat up time to a minimum

I just got home to find my new mouthpiece and shorty Blackwood body waiting for me. I'll try to get some pics up later, but it is the exact MP and shorty body that George posted a page or so ago. It is gorgeous.
And something I haven't seen mentioned yet, and when George told me I just couldn't see how it would work but holy shit it does...the mouthpiece spins!!!

It is held on the end of the vapcap by an O ring that is the same as on the end of the condenser tube but the diameter of the hole in the MP is just slightly bigger than the condenser tube and the Oring just sits in a little recessed part that keeps it flush, but allows the MP to spin freely. Really neat design.
I'll try to get some pics up later to help explain.

Edit:
Kinda hard to capture that recessed part but it's the same size as the Oring and fits flush.

Here it is on my full length burly. The Blackwood shorty looks good as well and is the same as the one George pictured with this mouthpiece a few pages back.

Edit again:

Here is the shorty Blackwood and mouthpiece from George's post a while back.

And let me say, after two bowls in, the mouthpiece is almost a must have. Feels perfect when hitting it and that spin...oh boy, that spin is just the shit for when you are heating it. You can grip the MP with your ring finger or pinky and freely spin the body with the other fingers and thumb while heating with the other hand.
Genius @VapCap !!!!

@VapCap Man, if you could make omnivaps with these wooden mouthpieces, that'd be killer. Originally I was waiting for a full Ti model as my unkillable/camping vape, but I've since realized that I would be SOL when it's sub-freezing and I want to vap on a walk.

It took me a while to see what you meant about he o-ring and condenser, but once I zoomed in, it was obvious. Looks killer; enjoy your fly vap; can't wait to get my hands on one of those mouthpieces.

Somewhere North of The Wall

See now THAT is freakin' awesome alltoreup.
The whole combo looks fantastic, but that two-tone mouthpiece is just the cherry on the cake.

I really like the longer look, and have just put a request in for an XL condenser and a couple of mouthpieces.
On the move I'll have to use the standard condenser without MP, but that's fine by me.
If George releases a longer DynastashER to accommodate the XL I won't get it.
I said, I won't.
No, I meant it, seriously, you can't make me.

Sigh, ooooookay.

How do I get my paws on the XL condenser tube and mouthpiece? I just email him my request and he'll give me a total price, and I just PayPal him the amount? I'm not seeing these cool add ons listed on the VapCap website.

@Smelly Dog You can email him and then he will have you use the contribute to the cause option on the website. He may have the website updated soon. I think his last post mentioned something about having them listed on there very soon.

Mouthpiece update. It just keeps getting better...the wooden mouthpiece fits inside an OG mouthpiece which we know seals in a 14mm female joint and then you can spin it in place on the piece while heating. Even more genius!!

Holy shit! That is impressive.

I've read your posts in a whole lot of vape threads so I'd have to say that's a pretty big deal.

I still love my nano so I think these two vapes will platoon with each other. A great team.

I'd like to thank George BTW for the recent shipment. I only ordered the fat plastic mouthpiece that comes with the original. Since he is offering them free, I was only paying for shipment. George threw in two mouthpieces and a gratis torch. Much thanks!

So now I've hit a mile-marker myself here. I love this thing on my waterpipe!

Tonight were my first two bowls, but I can tell that this will become a favorite way. I just needed to add a 14 to 18mm adapter and she fits the pipe like a snug bug. I needed to watch the vapor in the glass pathway to really see the cloud forming. On the straight stem I couldn't see the vapor cloud well and didn't know if I was getting good extraction, but I am.

I'll tell you I am fucking medicated right now. I want to get better at the torch and think I need a heat soak of the bowl before the first load of herb. I want a higher temp first hit. These lower temp first hits give me vapor created which can be a little sativa-like racy for me. I like full body stone, indica high so getting that type of vapor production from the beginning is important to me. I know this little bugger can do it. I just need to tune in the torch use.

I had to stop experimenting for now. I was at it like Werner Heisenberg and then the wheels came off :freak:

Man I just can't wait till my o-rings come in. It really stinks not being able to get my vap on.

Hopefully less than a week now !!

Fingers crossed.
I think I read somewhere in an earlier post that someone used hempwick when their o-rings broke.

Edit: I guess that may catch on fire though.

thoroughly vaped
Does anyone know how easy it is to add to an order while waiting? On hold for my TiWoody right now (no problem, knew it was like this), but want to add a few things to my order including an OG VC for a friend.

Just email George? Thanks!

Heat lower on the cap to get heavy vapor on the first hit. I usually find around the letters y and n or the middle of the cap with the outer flame gets nice vapor on the first hit and gets it light brown.
