@Vapinghole - Good to see you. Still creating more styles of HI's and roasting tubes. Glad to hear you are still enjoying your HIsaber.

@Shit Snacks - There must still be emails not getting through. I have not seen any from you for quite a while.

I recommend that anyone interested in a Heat Island should get on the list without delay. There is no obligation and you can decline when the time comes. The wait won't be that much shorter in the future. It may seem like a long time to wait, but it will be a pleasant surprise when the time comes. Definitely worth the wait.

Here is a photo of my latest micro voltage control unit. The base wood is made from bamboo flooring material. I was also able to add a micro knob to the little brass screw used to adjust the voltage. Now you can use your fingers rather than a small screwdriver. The micro knob is made from a section of 1/4" bamboo dowel.

bamboomicrovcu.jpg

Still have a few more roasting tube combinations to offer.

Here is a 2.5" 14mm GonG tube w/ an 18mm ConG sleeve that allows this tube to be used in either 14mm or 18mm fittings. The cork allows you to handle the glass when it gets hot. Double screens allows the tube to be inverted without spillage. The cork helps protect the glass from breakage.
This tube can be used with the HI, UD, and Nano.

Here is a plain end 13mm glass tube with an 18mm ConG sleeve as a lower cost option for 18mm fittings.

13mmglass18mmcong.jpg

Here is a 2.5" 14mm GonG with the 18mm ConG turned the other way for use with an LSV in addition to being used for a HI, UD, or Nano.

14mmgongcorklsv.jpg

Here is a 3" 14mm GonG tube with two 18mm ConG sleeves. This allows it to be used in either a 14mm or 18mm fitting for use with an LSV.

14mmgong18mmcongcorklsv.jpg

Here is a 13mm plain glass tube w/ an 18mm ConG sleeve set up to use with either an LSV, HI, UD, or GTV using an 18mmF/18mmF fitting. The 18mm ConG sleeve is $2 and will work on 13mm glass tubing.

Yes I thought so, I've replied to every email and then resent those replies in my last one, after you said there were email issues. I replied to the one you just sent, did you see that? Otherwise maybe we should switch to PM here?

Edit: and saw your reply, hopefully you saw mine too so you can wrap up another order!

IT'S HERE!!! I HAVE IT!

Ladies and Gentlemen!!!!!!
The Heat Island Vape:
BAMBOO EDITION!!!!!
I chose to go with the glass core. I love it. Compliments my SS core HI nicely.
Hopefully I won't set the list too far back posting this!!
This vape is a beauty just as it sits. It's very light weight but not too light where it will flop around. Hits like a Freight Train! It produces excellent vapor. I'm very impressed!

You can see at the beginning of the video the view of the unit on the more rounded side and at the end the flat side where the input sits.

I'm using a Satinwood WonG Alan made for me. I call it the low profile WonG. It's very short which is exactly what I wanted. It brings the HI's down a little when using with the GB-187.

Thank You so much Alan!

Nice SDM!

What voltage were you at for that hit? Do you have one of @Alan's micro vvps with it?

Nice preview of what I can expect for my own HIbrid soon enough... I'm just going with two slide-a-bowl WonGs as stems in no small part due to @hoyo77's stem reviews here. They just seem so unqiue and effective for log vaping, dry or with hydratubes, and ofcourse work inverted on a bubbler as well (I plan to try my regular JoDa UD 18mm GonG with HI inverted too)

Can't wait to finally have this Black Ash Burl beauty in my hands to try for myself:

Wow! The vapes are looking great, Alan! What's current availability looking like? I have a lovely blue mahoe toasty top in britain, but I'm back in america for the foreseeable future. Interested in a Heat Island or another Top with the HI core...

edit: emailed. Have you done a walnut top yet? Local supplier has dry figured walnut...

@Snappo - You are welcome. Thanks for providing me the opportunity to work with such high end wood and stocking such a fine selection of wood blanks for everyone.

@Slow Draw McGraw - Thanks for posting the video. I'm glad you are enjoying the bamboo HI. That is what I am using most often these days. I really enjoy the flavor.

@Orestes - Thanks. Good to see you posting again. You were one of my first customers. I have made a walnut Toasty Top before. Figured walnut would look very nice. Happy to make one for you.

Just wanted to share my mini HIs -- arrived a few weeks ago. Sumac hybrid and purpleheart SS. They are so mini! Tubes are cocobolo and lilac. Everything is beautiful and amazing. I am very impressed -- even my ABV comes out perfectly even and dark (high temp vaper, here) and it's clear how thorough the extraction is. Hybrid flavor is so very good and I'm enjoying my first wooden stems for logs. Thank you, Alan!

Well my order is finally wrapping up, everythings made and paid, here are shots of the gear from Alan:

So the left micro vvps is the one that will be mine, both oakwood, it is a new board Alan has that uses buttons to adjust voltage and also amps, it also has a on/off switch and uses a larger power supply. Couldn't resist that high tech fanciness for true desktop vibe....

And I've already posted this photo of the HIbrid itself a couple's times, but why not a third? Black Ash Burl with Purpleheart base

@Alan Nice job; these logs and accessories are looking great! How can I get on the HI waiting list? What's the estimated wait?
Thanks. Please send me an email to alan@toasty-top.com so I can get you on the list. I am still running about 18 months behind.

@catbird - Thanks for posting the photos. Glad you are enjoying things. Those are some tiny logs.

@Shit Snacks - Hope you enjoy all of the items in your package. Thanks for posting the photos.

Well it must be a 420 miracle people! Arrived a day early, can't get over how tiny everything is (included the box they came in!), so beautiful my photos can't come close to doing em any justice, but dont worry that won't stop me :brow:

DZgIbge.jpg

Compared to Milaana for some scale, this is one fucking minuscule desktop! The micro vvps and HI are nearly the same mass, truly a great pair, plus all that wood and glass... On the far right is a cork/glass stem Alan gave me to try with Zion/Milaana, and I also had him make me an 18mm solid cork to use as a cap for my Milaana bowl seen here. Not seen here was another 18mm cork sleeve, its one with a wide ID to accommodate my Grasshopper as a wpa some day whenever it finally ships ;) (there was a time when I expected to have this, GH, Zion, and more all at once, thankfully they have been far more staggered lol)

Only had one dry hit so far of a fairly tiny bowl in the redheart WonG slide-a-bowl using Alan's latest preferred screen style, at 11.5v, and wowsa big cloud strong taste with minimal effort and a relatively small breath... Lowering it down to 11.1 to experiment more, but I actually need a break! Starting to see what all the fuss is about here, a true connoisseur collectable desktop, feeling very happy after waiting a total of nearly two years and experiencing quite a few other top tier plug in units... We'll see how things progress, I will be back :peace:

Thank you again @Alan! Truly well worth the wait. Much more to come...

I like how you scaled it to a Milaana like we all have one. Lol

That unit, is nice tho. Can't wait for name to come around again. This log owning hobby is an addictive one! Especially when they all perform consistently.

The glass core is amazing for low temp vaping.

 love it bro, honestly my tongue was firmly in cheek as I wrote that, felt pretty silly. I did scale Milaana with other vapes over there a while ago, but haven't unpacked many others to do so with the HIbrid (also wanted to show off the cork of course)

How about this, scaled with my other accessible aka most used vape, a Daisy (slightly less rare?):
BYGYIB6.jpg

That was later last night after a few more stems of varying sizes and hits between 11v and 11.5v. Low temp vaping is great here but it's got the power too! I bet I can go in the 10v range for some straight flavor treats...

Yes a functional work of art, and the new micro vvps is awesome, looks like back to the future so its probably going to get the nickname flux capacitor for shits and giggles. Oh yeah and the HIbrid may just be named Babs, you know for black ash burl, and she's got some curves on her like a real lady should ;)

Can't wait to enjoy her company again soon!

You can use them either way, but I think you'll find you prefer it if you put your screens in upside down. I know that the E-Nano, and many other vaporizers use the same type of basket shaped screen, and if you look on their website the screens are shown with the flat part facing the heater. Beautiful pictures and equipment. Alan is awesome!

Hope this helps...

Thanks, yes that is also how RastaBuddhaTao likes to do his glass stem screens as well, but I switch en to basket style, I like it better actually, I can try it here too. What I am really excited to try is actually slide-a-bowl style with a screen in the 10mm stem and one in the 13mm to make the bowl in between....

@Shit Snacks - Thanks for posting the photos. Glad it arrived safely and you have been enjoying everything. Hope you get a chance to try out the tube in your Milaana. It should work very well. Looking forward to see how your Grasshopper cork sleeve works. Have fun trying all the various screen options in the Slide-a-Bowl tube.

Thanks @Vital . There are many different ways to use the screens. I have tried using a single screen with the basket up and with the basket down. The screen gets quickly clogged up in either direction and needs to be changed/cleaned to maintain optimal air flow. The air wants to go through the center of the screen, so that is the part that gets roasted the most. Stirring is required to get an even roast. Oil builds up at the edges where it doesn't get enough heat to vaporize. The thicker the glass tube, the more heat it takes to vaporize since there is more glass mass to heat up.
I have got much better results using another screen on top of the first one that is filled with the roasting material. The second screen helps to distribute the heat more evenly to the material as it quickly heats up to the hot air temperature which extends the heat the full width of the bowl. Think of it as a micro ELB. I switch the position of the screens every so often which is the reason they stay so clean. The oil residue on the top screen is vaporized since it sees the hottest air first. I have not had to clean a single screen since starting to use this method.

Here is my latest 18mm GonG tube. I fused a 13mm plain end tube to an 18mm GonG fitting. Have been wanting to make them for a while now. Surprised how well it worked considering I don't have a glass turning lathe. They were made on my metal turning lathe. I'm planning to charge $15 for them. Will work on all the brands of log style vaporizers.

I am not good at posting pictures but I recently got some beautiful wood stems from Alan along with cork. They are for my enano now but will be ready when my HI name gets called. All the wood work from Alan is absolutely beautiful.
I can't believe how small the HI is pictured above. I have the milaana and it's small!
