These guys from HL are in Colorado, they probably partake in medicinal smoking. So they may be taking a relaxed approach in manufacturing.

But a guesstimate would be one year from when you placed your order. So if another vape comes out during the wait time and gets good reviews you have the choice to get the new one or the hopper.

fuck its depressing to guess because someone was talking about they could only make 30 a week so that puts me to the year 2027

Ha ha. Man, I got a nice laugh from that. By that time, weed will be smoking us....

I love the optimism, but it borders on delusional at times. That's not directed at any one poster. To be clear

If they just started fulfilling Dec 2014 orders, why would anyone think their late 2015 order will be fulfilled in a couple months? People still want to depend on the accuracy of the updates? That's incredible.

Feb 2015 orderer here, I don't anticipate seeing shit til at least May 2016. Almost 2 years from the day I inquired on how to get on the waiting list to order. Yep, I'm pretty stupid.

I've been lucky enough to be using a friend's for a while now. But it'd be nice to have my own order. Maybe my order won't need sent back 6 times.

Night.

I think they're taking a very relaxed walk to the bank every day.
Btw, it's worse than you imagine. They're doing this shit recreationally out there.
I do agree there's a fair chance a better vape will hit the market and steal HL's wind, though HL has built a strange kind of customer loyalty. Folks who don't have one, never touched one, love them. Anticipation is an unsung powerful stage in product development.

I think by sending the hoppers out after a year it might be in there interest, things happen to people over time. you do need a address confirmation to get them

Can you post your source that states the wait is over a year for new orders?

No source but considering every preorder is still being shipped at about a year from order date, I'd say 10 to 12 months is a safe approximation for receiving a new order. I ordered May 15th, 2015 and currently was given an estimated ship date of March and with less than 3 days left in the month and still no shipping confirmation, I'm pretty sure it's not coming.

So that leaves me with 11 months at best if I finally receive my order in April (super hopeful but we shall see ). If not a full year is quickly approaching with no signs of speeding up production other than what they "say" in their updates. Until preorders start shipping under a years time frame, I would still consider that a reasonable estimate for all for new orders.

Obviously there is no such legitimate source, however, the evidence is overwhelming that HL's shipping estimates for new orders is grossly underestimated.
I am not a betting man, but if I was I would bet the farm that not a single new order will ship within the time frame suggested by HL's on their own website (as of right now, HL is claiming MAY 2016 for a new SS order)

EDIT: I AM NOT CALLING HL LIARS, OR ATTACKING THEM IN ANY WAY

It's possible that, in same way you've posted only a quote from me without the member's post to which I was responding, you have missed the context and the humor. If you wish to re-read those and frame a specific question, I'd be happy to answer. But I've not said anything bad about HL, as you are YELLING about.

I do see that part...

But to re-rail. I don't see any validity in basing shipping projections on past performance. Performance, not projections, I mean to say specifically. Their process is organic, growing, changing daily and in fact parts of the Hopper itself have evolved in these couple of years. Moving now from development to production is torturous to watch and wait thru, yes. My point is that, a crew of say 2 or 3 guys getting blisters putting these together a year ago is a vastly different picture than might be seen, say, now or three or four months from now. At the same time, the rate of orders placed is a complete unknown to us mortals while we do assume it's ever increasing. Nobody knows, though we have all learned that "this month" will become "next month" (almost) every time.

I don't think you have taken into consideration that they had to first fulfill backer orders first. They are now past that so any previous delay should already be accounted. I do not have any affiliation, but your misinformation could potentially scare off interested buyers. Also, one must keep in mind, they have ramped production up since the completion of the backers by implementing new machines and hiring additional help. I would expect new orders to be ready to be shipped late July - August. GHL estimates seem to always be a best case scenario estimate that never pans out on time, but eventually they will get it right.

Historic performance becomes increasingly relevant when it is consistent. I think they have been very consistently hitting 12-15 months lead time to address confirmation since they started shipping with very little improvement. The info they put in the updates partially obscures this.

Absent the facts you mention, this is all we have to go by and people tend to gravitate to what is known versus unknown.

Too bad they don't post a sign like in the amusement parks:

GHL took over 2 years for them to fill the backers orders (2700+ orders). Yes they just started a company and they had to dail everything in with the parts being made in China

They said at one point they could made 1300+(not sure exact #) grasshoppers per month

Now with preorders 20,000+ (not sure of exact #) orders =

Most likely year or more at GHL pace. I believe I saw a comment from someone saying a vaporizer shop was told a year wait for them to get grasshoppers because they have to finish preorders first

If they add more machines asap....I can see 6-8 months

Hi all,
My first post. Been smoking for ever. Stopped that and been vaping since 2011.
Now i think that could stop smoking joints too, so i ordered grasshopper few weeks ago.
Everybody is wondering when its gonna ship...
So i asked from support today. Lets see, what they have to say about it.
Still April maybe ;). Dont think so, when reading this forum.

This talk of 12+ lead time for new orders is IMO ridiculous. They won't be in business that long if that is the case. It has been slow so far because of component redesigns, hopefully by now they have arrived at a relatively dependable device & assembly procedure.

Increased staff + less warranty replacements = faster deliveries.

Judging by the QC issues that are still being regularly discussed on every GH thread or subreddit, I don't think we should be too quick to assume they've ironed out dependability or assembly procedures. It seems to be improving, but it's certainly still an ongoing process.

@Micro The Alfa is a decent vape, small will slip nicely into your pockets. It takes about 30 to 45 seconds to heat up. The chamber/oven is small but efficient. It is also not the easiest to load, due to the pin in the middle. The mouth piece with fit any 14 mm glass you want to use it with. Cleaning is a breeze, q-tip and pipe cleaner in iso is all you need. A tip for loading find a small spoon, about the size of 1/4 or 1/8 teaspoon will help load it easier.

Another factor to consider about shipping time frame. Are warranty claims. Those who needed to use the warranty, probably got a replacement one from those that were ready to ship out. If not it may have slowed production a bit. A worker would have to take apart a hopper and figure out what was wrong with it and then reassemble it or replace it with one that was finished. So this process is probably affecting the shipping time of MY HOPPER. :uhoh:

Forget all the warranty claims, and adjustments made to the design or the fact that this is a brand new company starting from scratch.
It takes 70-90 minutes to assemble each grasshopper by hand.
We also know that printing the heater and producing all 60 parts that make up the unit is a substantial and lengthy process.
If everything is going perfect, it will still take a long time to fulfill these preorders (list is growing daily, and now add retailers into the mix) if the final plan is to hand assemble every unit.

That being said.....I dont see HL going out of business anytime soon. As more units make it out in to the wild, the demand continues to grow. Almost everyday we see new people joining FC and posting on Reddit about new orders.

This is like being in fucking purgatory.

Congratulations to those of you who have received your confirmations!

Many posts above seem to be in a general agreement of how GH's business ethic is perceived, as well as our own attitudes about them.
So the best thing seems to be: believe that the longer it takes, the better the device will be.

If you go to the forum for those lucky ones who have already got their hoppers --- It's not exactly Hopper Heaven. http://fuckcombustion.com/forums/portable-vaporizers.39/

It's a mixed bag of ups and downs, happy customers as well as very frustrated customers.

So, aside from "Congratulations!", perhaps "Good Luck!" is in order as well.
