I just got the evo in the mail this past saturday with the Turbine HT...I just use it with herb and keef 10 oclock is perfect to start out on actualy i get about 4 good rips before i start to turn it up.When i first got it i was starting at 12 oclock way to high....Good luck i love mine

This thread makes me sooooooo jealous. I'm going to have to wait at least another 3-4 weeks before its back on VaporNation.. but that 21% off code they have here makes me really tempted to wait it out..

Yesterday I couldn't take it any more. I packed my Evo and Turbine in their boxes and went to visit a couple of my friends. They gave me some good buds and I finally got to try the Evo properly. The first couple I did at around 1:30 on the dial, like I did for the popcorn and trim leaf, and it was good. Then I upped the temp to almost 3am and holy shit! Thick, thick vapour that almost looks like smoke. I was very thoroughly and extremely pleasantly medicated all evening. This thing rocks!

Has anyone measured the temperatures the EVO is putting out at various spots on the dial?
What tools did you use? Did you measure inside the bamboo, the top, or some other method completely?
My initial thought was to use one of those laser thermometer guns so I can measure inside the bamboo but I'm not sure if the reflective glass insides will mess with the results. Plus I just want an excuse to get one of those thermometer guns!
I was also thinking I could put in an empty ELB and measure its temperature...

I forget who posted that they do there dabs on the Evo at max temperature, but I gave it a try last night.
From the several dabs last night, I think I might go with dabs at max temp most of the time going forward. IMO, at max temp, you lose a little in flavor. However, I think you gain quite a bit in effect compared to hitting concentrates at noon. I think the clouds come easier and faster at max temp as well. At lower temps, I feel like I have to start my hit slow and increase my draw. At max temp, it seemed I could hit it strong from the get go.

I've tried different vaporizers and I think for the $ the EVO is the best vaporizer purchase I have made.
Your right someone who still smokes joints everyday would love the EVO to make the transition.
I love WAX (SHATTER) and I get tasty huge hits through my HYDROTUBE.
I need CANNABIS for medical reasons however it's nice to enjoy your meds!

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I was a joint smoker (like 3 - 5 a day) for 15 years and the Evo is the vape that hits the closest. I've been lucky the last few months, my last two vapes (evo and guru) have been awesome! If this technology was around when I was a kiddo I may never have learned how to roll!

Should I keep waiting until VaporNation restocks on the EVO? I called them and they said maybe it would arrive by next month. I have a discount code for 21% off that knocks the price down to $278 + I know I would be getting the latest model with the heat sleeve & VapeXNail for concentrates+ free shipping. With taxes it will only be less than $310 final price. I can also do local pickup too since I live in the area. I won't have to wait for shipping. I can get it literally the same day or the day after I order.
Or should I bite the bullet and order from VaporWarehouse; which has them in stock now for the same price; but from what I can tell its the older model without the heat sleeve nor nail for concentrates; and only at 15% discount which would come out to $298 and with taxes it would be $330 in total, plus I would have to wait for it to ship here; but thankfully its still in the same state I live in.

bummer, I just broke one of my quartz vapexnails. Soaked it, then scrubbed it with a test tube nylon brush, and then the end just broke off in my hand. I'm not going to risk anymore of them. Just going to have to live with the ring of crud that develops halfway up the nail. Quality of the vapor aside, this hasn't been one of the best investments I've made over the decades ![:\](/i/s/hmm.gif "Hmm :\")

From reading your posts @BL4zD sounds like you're having a bit of a struggle with yours, it shouldn't be that hard. I turn mine down if it gets too hot but you could think about sending yours in to be checked if it keeps playing up. The problem with the Evo is that you can still get pretty great vapor from a faulty one.
Hey @ataxian is that the hydratube you had made before you got the Evo? Wow it's great, maybe not the prettiest glass on the block but it's so practical. That flared base is a really great idea.

I have had a few vaporizer's and I found the EVO easy too use?
My SHATTER taste so divine through the HYDROTUBE I had made in CALIFORNIA.
My 3 foot/1 meter colas of DUTCH TREAT taste like a bowl of CITRUS FRUIT!
@Poostuff custom glass can get expensive however it is customized to your liking. I had the base flared because I keep breaking the glass stands for hydrotubes. It works so I'm surprised others haven't gone with this principle? (EGO disease?) It's ugly but it works?
I will have one made this summer. CANNABIS is more important than devices!
@CarolKing has a HYDRO BOMB I want! (that piece is cool)
