I've always done the nose inhalation technique to form a vacuum pull in the throat. Works flawless for large hits.
I've found work around with the nano getting clogged, never an issue for me anymore.
Never combusted my lsv except once to test the limits. The mflb is just a fun little device, but after years of use, will never be my daily again.

Yeah thats funny how that works. I don't know with the LSV I guess I should just keep it at 12:00 any where past that I seem to combust.

I must say since I haven't been able to use my vapcap this has been my daily again, at least for the past few days. I'm just enjoying this new technique so much. Fresh batteries with out the pushback ring out are a blast. Works really well.

I think I just prefer the conduction high over convection. It also doesn't bug my throat as much as my other vapes.

New member here. Love my solo its my main everyday vaporizer. I just picked up a MAGIC FLIGHT LAUNCH BOX. Still learning. I combusted my first load, so any tips Would be greatly appreciated. Do you keep the battery pressed in and let the material continously heat or do you engage the battery with each draw? Thanks

Hello! Greetings from the southern hemisphere and welcome aboard,

My MFLB routine is basically:
- grind herb as fine as possible (nano grinder is one of MFLB best accessories)
- do not overload the box (try to stay under the rails)
*- press and hold battery and wait for about 3 seconds
- start inhaling while still holding the battery (usually small sips, like "kissing the box")
- stop holding the battery, keep kissing the box to clean out vapor thats still in there, and help cool the box down
- shake, tap, try to rotate/remix herb thats inside the box
- go back to *- step

So a direct answer to your question would be: Keep the battery pressed continously as soon as you can still draw air/vapor. Stop holding battery when running out of breath, and keep drawing to empty box vapor and cool it down.

Cheers

This is what i was looking for. Just smoked a trench. Thus method works much better. I think i was leaving the battery pressed in too long.

It's very common, many/most of us did so as well when first getting going.

Things will 'cool off' some, it's a dynamic thing you have to stay in control. But the screen will oxidize and therefore conduct heat not quite as well as when brand new. The batteries also lose a bit of fire, although that varies from battery to battery depending on age and use/abuse. Normal skills develop to cover this, of course, but expect it.

Keep your bud well cured (dry) to control/limit fouling, fine ground, never loaded over the top of the rails, sip the vapor, be guided by taste and shake, shake, shake between hits. Remember only the tiny fraction actually touching the trench can make vapor, and then only under the right conditions......if you want the magic part.....

I was cleaning my MFLB with an isopropyl alcohol soaked q-tip and, though I was using gentle pressure, the screen edge got pushed down a little. I just sent an email to MFLB and am hoping this is covered by warranty as I LOVE my MFLB, the most efficient and stealthy vaporizer in the world. Here is what it looks like. Anybody else have this happen?

I've got this new draw technique that I've never tried before and it works super well. Instead of closing my lips while drawing on the stem I let two air holes on the side of my mouth so I get a really airy draw. It must just provide the perfect rate for vapour production because I get some pretty decent hits this way. My box actually makes a whistle while doing this.
That's funny, I do the same technique, except when I'm using the nano instead.

They'll get you covered. No worries.

Edit: don't forget to add in the description that you believe performance is affected.

(Stupid) Q: With the "nose inhalation" technique, you're still letting air in through the mouth, right?

And to the posters above (not closing lips on stem, and letting air in), I agree, and find the more "leakage" of air, the better the hit.

I tell first-timers to barely let your lips touch, sip like hot tea, and don't suck like a pipe. Let air leak in.
Battery on until 80% of lung capacity. Finish with battery off.

In fact, I just took a hit (no stem) without my lips touching at all.
And it was (much like the worst sex I ever had) FANTASTIC!

(Oh, I find the same effect with e-cigs, too.)

Keep your batteries fresh, herb well cured (dry), grind fine (or very fine), never fill over the rails and shake, shake, shake between hits.

Only the surface of the mesh gets heated, only the tiny fraction of herb in direct contact can get heated enough to make vapor. Keep that part fresh, shaking does that. Weak heating of the mesh further diminishes the potential for vapor. Unless you use a PA and push it to combustion the extra power is used to make vapor directly (not pay 'overhead'), keep rotating batteries until you get the hang of it. After that you can easily do a trench on a charge, even a trench and a half.

Don't put water (moist bud) in, that robs precious vaping power, water gets first dibs on power, you have to dry it out before you get good vapor anyway so why not before? And condensed water vapor inside the box is what makes fouling happen. Being good on keeping the water out can seriously limit or even prevent fouling as many have reported here.

One last tip, don't mess with the weld of the mesh to the rails. Lots of guys have damaged theirs fussing with buildup which continues to degrade once started. It's eventually fatal.

Best advice is to experiment with technique and follow the results you like.

Regards,

The only thing I add is giving it a gentle knock or two on a hard surface one the end before shaking. Gets it free of the screen.

:tup:WOW! Just acquired a MFLB from @Vitolo and why didn't I get one of these years ago?? THIS BOX ROCKS!
Indeed.
"Why didn't I get one of these years ago" is a very high compliment for any procuct.
And a humble admission of not claiming to know everything, and therefore having the capacity to learn, and progress.

Mouth over hole, keep throat open, inhale through nose without closing throat. Should feel the warmth let in your mouth pretty quickly despite inhaling through nose.

Had mflb for years. I ONLY and WILL ONLY use nose technique.

Huh:uhh:...I have never heard or thought of trying that technique. Next time I use my mflb I definitely will be though.

Your herb should not stick, if it's well cured. How dry is your bud? I bet that drying it a bit more would prevent sticking and reduce or even eliminate build up under the screen. Very little to no fouling.

Once 'broken in' the surface of the screen is a bit like a well seasoned iron fry pan. Too smooth and well sealed at the atomic level for stuff to stick to. Unless you get 'sticky stuff' left on the surface when moisture and contamination get heated and loses the moisture part. That moisture has to be 'cooked out' before we get to the THC, why 'burn up your battery' doing so when you could be making vapor?

This includes guys who get 'cakes' or 'loaves' in the trench when the lot fuses. Fun, but it shouldn't be happening.

Anyway, not to ramble too much, if your otherwise well performing box has herb sticking to the mesh, check the cure of the well ground herb going in. I haven't 'banged a box' since someone here set me wise and shaking has done the job.

It was founded by a mflb employee I believe ... Ages ago. I forgot the name of the technique. I can blow clouds with this method consistently, but if I use just my mouth, I literally can't even get the vape to work. The nose method is the smoothest, most flavorful, and most consistent method I've dealt with, and I've tried em all hundreds of times.
YMMV

Yeah, doesn't work to well for me, I kinda just cough my ass off and don't get a very big draw hahaha.

I've been using my technique, for the past 5 days, I haven't used anything else I'm just having fun with this a lot. I've only combusted once in my drunken stupor on Saturday night, not a problem loaded more and I was fine, cleaned it out when I got home.

I just barely shut my lips on the stem and puff on it, I take probably 1-2 second draws then ghost in hale it and repeat until I take the battery out. I find the time it takes to ghost your hit is the perfect time to allow it to produce more vapor. Man this things ripping harder for me than she ever has.

Love it.

I must say using your warranty box with maud-dib screens doesn't taste too good IME.

The concentrate trays though, taste so good for shatter. Very efficient too.

hweezi,
48 hours and counting... no word back from MFLB. I hope to hear by tomorrow since their website says they will respond in 48-72 hours. It's a good thing I have other vaporizers ;-)

Took longer than usual for me too a few weeks ago. They had 24-48 hours for YEARS. I imagine theyre much busier now that they're so popular. Took like 3-4 days for me. I didn't mind cuz I was in no rush, but as long as it sent, you'll hear from them.
Everyone worries ;)
