How easy are these flavor art flavors to work with? vaporbomb.com sells a 5ml 5 sample pack where you can pick the mix ratio all the way to 100%PG. So I can get 5 different flavors ready to use for 12 bucks plus shipping. I am thinking if I buy from flavor art I would end up getting at least 5 if not more (I have a hard time deciding) at 4 bucks each so I am in the hole for at least 20 and if they are too concentrated or artificial tasting I am afraid there will be a learning curve before getting a usable mix.

So for the ones that mix their own flavored juice:

How happy are you with the results?
How many batches come out crappy?
How forgiving are the flavors especially when mixing different flavors together?

I have been diluting 6 grams of product into a final juice volume of 16 ml. Just the 1ml of PE400 and PG, no flavors or terpenes needed.

I mix in glass jar in an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner with a heated bath.

Excitedly doing the math, per gram product, we have: 0.167 ml PEG400 plus up to 2.47 mls PG. Thanks again!

Ultrasonic mixing might accelerate oxidation and decrease potency. Have you tried gentler heating and stirring? Accelerated oxidation could be what makes ultrasonic mixing effective for steeping e-juice flavors.

The point of the terpene story was just that even naturally occurring terpenes, when preserved, can produce an overpowering flavor. Good results with mangoes. Try eating a delicious, ripe one an hour before vaping.

Go QWET! Maybe try winterizing the non quick run. The less heat the better for flavor. (No heat evaporation produces cloudiness, but it doesn't seem to matter.) Gets thinner if you fully decarboxylate in an oil bath at 250F, watching for the CO2 bubbles to stop. Sedative effect predominates, mild flavor. A lot of activity can be left in the spent material.

Have you done much experimenting with QWET and e-liquids? I'd think it's much more versatile. Like, could a sufficiently reduced QWET just be added to any e-juice? Instead of suspending concentrate in PG, it's just mixing something very soluble, reduced ethanol containing cannabis. So I would think separation is less of an issue.

Do you mean, keep some ethanol? Haven't tried. Some vapers use a tiny bit of ethanol in their DIY juices, and some flavors are dissolved in it. Others avoid any ethanol. Check ECF. More accurate to evaporate all of your ethanol, then re-dissolve in whatever volume ethanol you decide to try. Any VG at all has caused separation, but never tried with ethanol. Maybe look up badkittysmiles. Tried her methods without success, but she reports using VG plus ethanol. Assuming you've read the Skunk Pharm Research blog forwards and backwards?

Spent QWET material makes killer coco-butter.

Excellent, I havent seen badkittysmiles! Going through her recipes now. Been on Skunk Pharm quite a bit and I've read a lot about the difficulties of VG emulsification but yeah I think ethanol might be a different kettle o fish

"Has anyone tryed the joyetech cubis sub-ohm tank with cannabis e liquid?"

I bought one for use with co2 concentrate(the shit that comes in those little cartridges at the dispensary).

The stuff comes in syringes or little jars and I load it into the cubis.
I've smoked about 3 g of the co2 extract goo over 2 weeks at the time of this review.

I have tried the goo in other tanks like the protank and the aspire et-s and they both leaked. Since the goo is really expensive I can't tolerate a tank that's going to leak. Also the co2 extract changes viscosity a lot depending on temperature, so when the tank full of goo heats up the goo gets runny.

That's why I decided to give the cubis a go. It is advertised to not leak. It doesn't leak. I like it.

If you read reviews of the cubis they will describe how it gurgles and spits. With co2 concentrate I've found that it also gurrgles and spits.

I've managed to make it quit spitting by
1.installing a stainless screen that they sell for pipes inside of the stem below the little tip.
and
2.drawing on the tank before pressing the button to make sure the airway is clear.
also
3. Try not to disassemble the tank in any fashion for any unnecessary reason. You should only open it when you need to fill it or change the coil or clean it.

I like the 1 ohm ss steel coil with temperature control. I have it set to 420 Fahrenheit and 50w.

I tried the clapton but I couldn't get the temperature right, it would go from too cold to too hot to burning way too fast for my liking.

I manged to get most of the goo from inside of the clapton coil, but it feels like i lost maybe .2G inside after draining the thing with heat.

I'm curious about the .5 ohm, but people say they burn out a lot, and I don't want to lose a bunch of goo with coils that are not going to last long. If someone tries and finds out its awesome let me know!

I also ordered a RBA so I wouldn't lose goo when the coils burn, maybe I'll try my hand at winding a .5 or .75 SS coil...

Vapor:The vapor isn't as thick as the little cartridges from the dispensary, but it produces more of it more quickly for an overall larger cloud. I'd like a thicker hit from it, but it dispenses a stronger dose than the cartridges more quickly. The airflow won't constrict enough to give it mouth hits like the tiny cartridges or the et-s, and it won't open wide up like an RDA, but the settings are sufficient. While blowing a thick cloud would be satisfying, the feature would be mostly aesthetic. My rig dispenses large hits as fast as I can take them, to the point of coughing fits sometimes.

Conclusion:As it stands with 420F and 50w(e vic mini) on the 1 ohm stainless coil, I've been puffing on the tank as my main hitter for 2 weeks. I've toasted about 3 grams of the oil so far and had no leaks, no burnt coils, no bullshit (except the mentioned flooding). The rig dispenses large oil hits that will make me cough if I go too hard. I would recommend the cubis over the little cartridges or a conventional tank which would be likely to leak with co2 extract. Most reviewers who consume nicotine e-liquid suggest other sub-ohm tanks with bigger capacities, better vapor, fancier coil ect. The cubis is awesome for co2 extract/the clear/THC goo.

So I've been seeing a lot of people recommend using MCT oil (fractionated coconut oil) as a base for their mixtures. I've always stayed away from various oils because of the risk of ELP. However, MCT has had the long chain triglycerides removed, and so they claim there is little to no risk of developing ELP from its use in vaping.

Here is some research one person has posted, however it could just be a marketing gimmick I suppose. I haven't had time to read all the links they posted.
https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic...y_i_choose_mcts_and_you_will_too_please_read/

Does anyone have any thoughts or information regarding to this? Seems like an easy alternative to the nasty mixes if it is safe.

That is very interesting, but I wouldn't be comfortable using that method at this point.

I researched the Caprylic and Decanoic acids which were recommended. According to Wikipedia, Caprylic acid is a clear liquid and relatively harmless. But Decanoic acid is medium-toxic and crystalline, with a strong rancid and unpleasant smell. Maybe they use both chemicals because they buy them already combined, but it seems to me there's no use for the DA, and if that's the case then this chemistry has definitely not been thoroughly researched.

Whatever they're using, all the msds info I can find for these chemicals is for concentrations of 95-99%

What concerns me most is the 1-5% of mystery volume. These chemicals are extracted from natural sources where they are isolated as best as possible from other, similar chemicals. These other chemicals would include LCT's, and who knows what else.

Just a very small amount of the wrong kind of oil can cause big problems in your lungs, so it's good to be careful. People get lipid pneumonia just by using lip balm too often.

Edit:

I just posted about my RTA setup in the advanced ecig users group, but it seems like that info belongs here even more.

I use a kayfun V4, which works great and doesn't leak. It's filled with rosin that's been thinned with connoisseur concentrates grapefruit terpene blend. It seems at least as efficient as dabbing, and a whole tank full of concentrate can be consumed without any attention or maintenance at all. After each tank I wipe the deck down and replace the wick before refilling, but that's all the service it requires.

The tank holds 4ml, or 2-3 grams of concentrate depending on how much of the terpene blend is required for thinning. This setup has become my favorite portable vaporizer, by far. It effortlessly delivers instant and thick vapor, and I can easily carry days worth of medicine.

Wow, great to see the discussion continue here! I was gone for a month without any gear but I'm back and re-acquainting with it and slowly getting back to internet routines. Cool to see lots of new reviews and information.

I still enjoy vaping cannabis like this. Since I got back I vaped a few last tanks in my Kanger Subvod kit to finish the last replacement coil head I had. The dispensary that I found before I left still sells very decent wax and shatter for $20/gram so this is still the best cost/high going for me.

I've been shopping around and wanting to step up to some gear with more power and control. I finally made the move and found a cheap deal on Sigelei's new Spark 90 Watt mod. It does TC but I'm using it in power mode because the new Aspire Cleito that I topped it with it doesn't support TC. Got it all at vapenw.com BTW.

pixlr_20160402091909251.jpg

The Cleito is awesome. It has 3 massive wick slots (big vertical holes), and 3 huge air vents. The entire chimney is basically the coil, it's all one piece. Clever, super effective design. I'm using the 0.4 ohm coil. I filled up the tank, screwed it on too tight and it leaked. Loosening the tank stopped that and I enjoyed this whole tank with no issues (carrying it around everywhere).

The Sigelei Spark is cool. Good power, lasts me a few days easy. I like having control over wattage. I run it at 20 Watts now. I like that I can dial it down if I want to ghost toke somewhere, or dial it up for a nice big "bong hit" size toke. It uses a single replaceable battery, easily swapped. Tip: turn it off fully (5 taps) before pocketing it. I forgot and something in my pocket was hitting the "wattage up" button. When I took my next toke it was at 38 watts and it blasted a massive cloud into me, haha.

I'm mixing ~ 6:1 ratio now with this setup, this particular tank was:
1/2g Sour Diesel shatter
48 drops HT (Philosopher)
48 drops HT (Couch Lock)
2 drops FA pineapple
2 drops FA mandarin
2 drops FA lime tahiti

**Note on added flavors: I've been experimenting with adding flavors that DIY juice makers use. I still enjoy doing this. I'm not trying to cover up anything, I think the concentrate mixed with HT mixers tastes fine, I just like enhancing it a little extra. ANYWAY, I've found that I was using too much and I've cut my amounts down to about a third of what I was adding before. Best results are always after letting it steep for 48 hours minimum.

Great post and welcome back @randomtoker! I'm curious, why do you think your tank leaked when you sealed to too tightly? That seems very counter-intuitive to me and may be one of the reasons I experienced so much leaking.

That said, I'm still enjoying my current mix although I've found I get both an irritated throat and a weird kind of dull headache. I might try mimicking your 6:1 dilution with just one flavor of HT....urgh, no, must first finish all the other mixes I've made :(

Welcome back, and thanks for starting this thread. Are the HTs clearly effective?

Looking forward to low-temp QWET from cryo-preserved.

Just diving into a newly filled tank. Mixed this juice a couple days ago and left it to steep. It gets so clear after a couple days! Look at those giant wick slots on this cleito tank's burner!

This mix contains:
1/2g Butter OG crumble
56 drops HT (philosopher)
56 drops HT (couch lock)
1 drop FA blackberry
1 drop FA mandarin
1 drop FA lime sicily

20160414_085451_HDR_1.jpg

For this tank, I'm now mixing 7:1 ratio. It tastes so amazing I just puff on it all the time so I have to keep thinning the mix down more. This ratio totally fills the tank right to the top now. I'm puffing at 20 watts, which is very low. The recommended wattage for this 0.4 ohm coil is 40-60. I prefer it low temp like this. I get manageable, inconspicuous vapor that is so smooth. I've drastically reduced the amount of flavoring I'm adding and it's now perfectly subtle, just barely noticeable, but very enjoyable. I still recommend experimenting with flavor additives, just start very very very low.

But really, after 3 fills of this tank using this setup, I'm completely ready to start building my own coils. I want to try the RTA deck that Aspire is supposedly making for this tank. The best flavor is the first 1/2 tank on a brand new burner. I want a rebuildable setup so I can put a fresh wick in there with every tank. It makes so much difference with flavor. I don't want to have to keep buying replacement coils.

Great post and welcome back @randomtoker! I'm curious, why do you think your tank leaked when you sealed to too tightly? That seems very counter-intuitive to me and may be one of the reasons I experienced so much leaking.

Ok, I went through another couple tanks so I can confirm the leakage wasn't due to over tightening the tank on the mod, my mistake, sorry. That first time it leaked was just excess juice that dripped out from priming the inside of the new coil. I thought it was related to tank tightness because I've seen weirdness with that before. I've finished 3 tank fills with this setup now and it's working great.

I got leaks at the end of the third tank because the wick was now trashed from use so it couldn't hold back the flow once there was more air than juice in the tank. Between tank 1 and 2, I cleaned the coil (soaked it in IPA and dried it), but I got lazy and just refilled tank 3. Tank 3 went dark immediately and tasted pretty bad the whole way through. I was even having trouble drawing at the end of the 3rd tank because the wick had puffed up on the inside and gotten hard and chunky where it was saturated with cannabis plant fats, semi-clogging the airflow.

Using cannabis concentrate mixed into these juices really does a number on wicks. The oils in the concentrate seem to build up on the wick and make a mess of it. This Cleito tank has such a huge amount of wick that you really see it happening. With these Cleito tanks in the future I'll clean the wick every tank filling (I need 2 tanks now so I can alternate: clean / dry / fill / steep while puffing the other).

Welcome back, and thanks for starting this thread. Are the HTs clearly effective?

Tough question. It certainly tastes better than a plain PG/PEG mixer which makes it worth while for that alone. I've tried a few tanks with HT and some with flavorless. It feels like there's a little more zip and stone with the terp enhanced mixers? Tough to really say, I've only used 2 of their mixers. I haven't tried their whole line.

I will continue mixing with terp enhanced mixers though. Now that I'm using this new tank that guzzles juice, I really want to make my own mixing juice. When my HT runs out I'll buy some bulk PG, PEG, VG and some isolated terpenes and start making my own much cheaper. I'll let you know how that goes. I look forward to trying different ratios of PG/PEG and trying to force VG into the mix with high velocity stirring gear.

Massive Taste!!!!

Now I will try the wismec rx200 with the Mutation x v4 with a fused Clapton dualcoil .2 Ohm, 80 watt.....unbelievable Power and taste....crazy shit

Alcohol may eventually evaporate causing mixture to separate.

Pass. Extract's already too pungent, at least at first. Good luck with homogenization.

Testing Ceramikas with DIY e-juice (75%VG/25%PG + 6 mg WTA). Very impressed so far. Neutral flavor, as expected. Cool, comfortable vape. May extract spent QWET material into some ratio of VG/PG that's not irritating.

Head anyone tried the Holy Terp Pure? If so, with what types of carts/tanks?

Interesting, first I've heard of it. I checked out the website, looks cool. Seems like their answer to CC's Solution. Just slightly cheaper also no? Probably more of a discussion for the thc e-cig thread. Too expensive to mix that into a big cloud setup (100 bucks for 30ml).

My Aspire Cleito tank is leaking.

I managed to get 3 tank fulls on my last coil then it leaked during the last half of the 3rd tank. I replaced the coil but it leaked a lot during the last half of this first tank with it. Seems like when there's more air than liquid it has tendency to flood the airflow.

I'm bummed, I like this tank performance otherwise so much. I'll keep using it while I go through the pack of replacement coils. Perhaps it's just a bad coil, but I don't know. I've heard people say they have no leaking with tgis tank but I see forum threads elsewhere on leaking issues.

I may try to Uwel Crown or Melo2 that have gotten favorable reviews here when I'm done with this tank. Now that I have a better mod I have more options.

**Edit: The first leak was due to an oil caked wick after 3 tanks. The second was a new coil/wick and an under half empty tank that travelled less than half mile elevation change. I've seen other tanks leak for both these reasons before. The caked wick I can manage by cleaning the coil each tank fill. I was hoping the Cleito would perform better when not full, and when changing minor elevations though.

Probably you can try the billow v2, for me the best Tank atomizer. No leaking, no problems.... And a clear Taste.

Nice suggestion, thanks! Looks like a good RTA. I like the design. Great that you can remove the deck without draining the tank. I also love that the airflow ring stops full open and full closed (instead of free spin like most). Good price too.

1:10 ratio, nice. I'm doing 1:7 now and planning 1:10 next batch. I'll be finishing the HT that I have soon and buying some bulk stuff for diy juice.

Does the Billow V2 have a way to close the juice flow? I've been looking at the Griffin and I like that you can open and close the juice flow holes on it. Seems like that would guarantee no leaks.

It's my first weed batch with this special diy Setup. It works fine with Hash...i posted here... for qwet Hash extraction really nice and a ratio 1:10 but bad for long term vaping... With weed concentrate...it's smooth and has a total different Taste.

The billow has no Liquid control. But....test the wotofo ice. A dripper..my new choise....Sunshine, A little Glas dripper bottle with your e-weed, the Cristal Glas and a spaced ss316 dual coil .....the boooombastic setup

Higher dilutions... Could there be another way?

Method: 2 ounces spent QWET material in 2 cups VG. (Already pulled tasty oil.) MB2e, 8 hours, 130 F. Recovered 1 cup. Filtered through coffee filter. Vaped in Ceramikas.

Mild effects, but effects nonetheless. Similar report. Seemed like it couldn't work, but worth a try with "waste" material.

Soon began tasting burnt. Diluted as per badkittysmiles (EtOH, distilled water). Vapes solid. Mild enough for clouds from the Ceramikas. So much easier than PG + PEG. But also weaker.

Still tastes like that second bag from the dry herb vaporizer. Which is to be expected. Maybe stronger effects and better flavor from first-run material? Could make a fine between dabs, session vape. Also, fresh material can be extracted into the same VG to maximize concentration.

Waste still has activity. Very sedating. Need better filtration for VG.

Can't concentrate VG, but it's decarbed - so lick clean, add to drinks, whatever. Won't decarb first-run material.

So stony.

I like it.

Thanks for posting this up for us. I was looking for this kind of info about filling up a RTA with some good, runny style, non-diluted co2 oil and I'm looking for some tips so I can avoid any newbie mistakes.

I have a couple of eleaf melo III mini 2ml tanks that came with my new pico's. I have been doing 100% of my dabbing on the divine tribe ceramic donut for a long time, but one of my main issues with that atomizer (which is great overall IMO) is its need for frequent reloading for proper usage. It would be nice to fill up a non-leaky tank with a gram of co2 oil and be able to vape it down to almost-empty and have the vapor be satisfactory and convenient.

So I'm happy to read somewhere in this thread that they were satisfied with the non-leakyness of the MELO tanks. I'm also pleased to read that it is compatible with the vaporesso cCell coils, so I have a 5 pack of their 0.2 ohm ni200 coils on the way for TC use on any of my fleet of mods, haven't decided on which one to use yet, maybe the pico.

Can anyone offer me any tips or info on loading pure co2 oil into this tank, and maybe any info on wicking / breaking in the ceramic coil, and what watts / temps to use? I plan on using a built in TC-Ni curve, maybe improvements can even be made with these coils on a custom TCR settings?

And BTW, I've browsed through this thread since it seems the closest one to my current project here. All your guys work in the custom mixes and the ability to put BHO in a tank is interesting, but unfortunately for me, I have found out I am allergic to either VG, PG, or both. It seems to make my throat/tonsil swell up and get irritated with repeated exposure. Soo... just pure co2 for me, no room for fillers. :D thanks

Hey everyone, I want to thank randomtoker for writing all this information. Normally, I buy the cartridges from the dispensary and when it’s done I just get a new one. I like using those because I’m on the go a lot and I can pretty much smoke whenever I want to without looking conspicuous in public. So my friend just gave me his old vape pen (Aspire CF mod) that he normally uses for nicotine ejuice. I was using it with the regular nicotine, but then realized that it hits and works similarly to the e-cig. So I came with the idea of mixing concentrate in there with the nicotine ejuice. It didn’t work out well at all (it turned into two different layers) and I wasted a whole gram of shatter L. So I did some searching, came across this thread and totally had no idea you had to actually get a liquid just to do this. Now, I like my mixtures at about a 20% THC, so if I start off with shatter, what liquid do you recommend I get to mix it in with? I tried reading other people’s take but I don’t think any of them addressed the ratios and which product is better.
