@Gandalf @Vapetrees

Cheers for responses. I think you mean the MFLB stacking? I've had lots of MFLB use so will keep that in mind thanks.

Improvement in that last session but still avb no way near as dark as Vaporizerwizard's video. Hopefully it's just a learning curve. My avb after 10 or so 8-10 second steady draws on 5:

Don't own a hopper but been lurking here so long I can with 99% certainty say: that's broke.

If several long draws on max temp don't get your abv browner than that, it's not getting hot enough.
Yeah it doesn't look dark enough to after that many hits. Keep practicing I had the same problem when I first got mine. Idk if this is a good idea but, why don't you try and inhale through it without herb to see if it is actually producing hot air. Or you could put a small amount of herb like 25% full and draw on it as well. Good luck.

Hello all!

Just popping in to say my SS hopper #12XX is still working great!.

Yes you can see what I mean about a "primer puff" before you get a significant draw, almost like the FW3.

The only thing I have noticed about my hopper is that the light used to turn from red to blue in about 4-5 seconds. I noticed it seems to be taking about 5-6 seconds to turn red to blue.

So performance and efficiency have remained the same but the heat up seems to be taking a few extra seconds. We shall see if this is the new normal:\ or if it is the beginning of the heater failing:shrug: I rule nothing out:nope:.

The unit has been acting the same for me dry and through a bubbler for about a 2 weeks like this.

I have been using it as my personal primary "10 hitter" clicking the unit off after an 8 second draw and continuing to draw another 5-6 seconds to draw the most heat out of the oven.

I almost find that the end of my draw when I am pulling the heat out with the unit off is the most "robust" part of my draw this way I regulate the speed slower when the unit is off.
I also will usually get almost another draw through a small bubbler when the unit is off if I hit it again quick enough.

So, so far still so good with me.

Still loving my SS hopper!

Will keep all posted!
:peace:

Vapefiend offered to take a look at it so I'm going to send it in, better to have technician diagnose.

Oh haha. Yeah thanks I have seen that trick! Going to order one now just to be sure, but should have some around the place.

knock those pieces gently on your front teeth. vibrations will tell which are glass and which ones are synthetic. glass is much harder and it sounds more jinglery. i never liked a burning method of testing. cause there is a great chance to damage a mouthpiece if it turns out to be an acrylic one.

any better methods how to differ a proper glass piece from its acrylic reproduction?

@Vapetrees did you made a Hopper clouds in that Talant show? or packed it tight and went invisible? is it allowed to vape e-cigs in public where you live? anywayz,... you brave rock!

low moisture content + maximum interface = Efficacy/Efficiency

:myday:
I don't think the moisture content has any importance beyond the first few seconds of a draw. Water quickly evaporate at a temperature much lower than most cannabinoids. I even remember using my mflb a few second to dry herb before grinding it with my finger and vaping it again (when I was outside with fresh bud but no grinder). The herb doesn't even have to change color to be very dry and ready to grind.

Hi WoodyWeedPecker,

How fine is your grind ? I am in pre-order purgatory and do not yet have my Grasshopper. I am trying to learn from actual GH users about all of the variables, so that my titanium Grasshopper can "hit the field running", so to speak.

My grind is pretty fine but as I said you can take the moisture out of an unground bud just by vaping it a few seconds (even below vaporization temp). I don't have my grasshopper yet but I was speaking about my experience with other vaporizers.

ah... OVER the hopper's mouthpiece? wouldn't the o ring roll off every single time you removed the glass?
Put the O ring on before you screw the hopper tip back on. Should puff out the ring as you tighten it down so it will make contact w the glass.... Then you'd have to worry about the o ring heating up I suppose....

Most people for convection say fluffy, but personally I find no difference between power and fluffed herb, it all gets vaped.

That said, powdery herb will fill the chamber more which will make it harder to inhale and lead to uneven vaping in general. For the Grasshopper, less is usually more. I rarely fill more than 75% of the way, powder or fluff.

Powdered and fluffy are not mutually exclusive traits. The idea is to not tamp down as you would with conduction vapes.

Hi. How does the GH compare to the FF2? I'm very interested in both but I can't decide. I like good flavor and don't really session vape...just occasional hits spaced out over an hour or so but I also would like something that can be shared between a few people. Thanks;)

You may want to go on Buzz Danklin's site (or pm him) for your answer since the ff2 hasn't shipped yet. He's the only one I know who has and used both. He gives both very high ratings...

My dankruptcy was broken by a surprising turn of events, involving a new contact and the most fire bud I've had for months. :smug:

Definitely having great bud helps with the cloud density, none the less my EQ (with a like-DDave mod) outperforms it pretty blatantly.
However: the flavour is fundamentally better with the hopper, and the effect is similar enough, and the extraction more efficient - I prefer it.
Having two-three batteries, or at least one per person, and an external charger is, I think, the best way to go.

This thing is just insanely powerful. It fills up my 12" othership torus like a beast.
With my one day t-break in mind... bloody hell :whoa:
