Has anyone with a dead battery, as in crapped out/bad, tried plugging it in for AC use?

On another thread, someone posted that he didn't care if his battery went bad as he'd just use
it with AC plug.
Can anyone positively answer if that would or would not work?

Since S & B's answers on pass thru charging are varied and included "it is mostly pass thru". I'm speculating that it won't work with a dead battery while plugged in?
Inquiring minds want to know ;)

It doesn't have a true pass through for power. If you completely discharge it it will require a slight charge before it will function. It's just the way it is. Thankfully a minute or two on the charger is enough to get it past the threshold. If your sending it back for this reason I think your wasting yours and s&bs time.

Found this on page 60. So yeah if the battery is dead the Mighty won't function.
Also I see some posts about recalibration, etc that suggests it's not as much of a "tank" as the Plenty.

Makes sense since it's smaller, etc that it might not be as stable of a machine.

You do seem serious about vapes, so maybe simply purchasing another outright would be more to your liking, but...
Another way to do it, wait for Crafty to fail. If you use it a lot, this is likely to happen (3X in 8 months for me!). When it goes in for warranty service, S&B will, in most cases we've heard, allow you to swap for a Mighty if you pay the difference in price.

Someone already used this kind of screen?
it seems to be done for inner screen (inside bowl) but can be used for CU too:

tastes funny

im giving it a rest after a few attempts

I go where the thrills are
Does he hook you up more if you email him? I always just use the code for 15% off

You'll get his best current "matched" price....which may not be better than 15% but it's always worth asking. (Goes something like "hey Randy, I'm super ready to pull the trigger on a Mighty...so what is your absolute best price you can offer me right now??")

Definitely email him before just ordering. Also worth making sure he has the newest versions to send out, so you don't get an older one warehoused somewhere.

Its always been better than the 15 percent off when i have emailed randy and asked just as stated above im ready to order..whats the best deal i can get on.... hes a stand up guy and will bend over backward to warranty a device or what have ya. And to be honest our very own @stickstones can do just about anything randy can do and in some cases more because of the direct link with fc and all..and i think randy just does it full time and has a shop and all that but either way with these two we are vey well taken care of..i met a guy from craigslist today to try and replace my mighty that was stolen and he drove to me and the price was great..but as soon as he took it out...FAKE!! I dont think he knew it was fake and i wad like man i hate to tell ya buddy but i cant buy this..he was shocked at how i was showing him all of the things that make it fake..it wasnt a bad copy but it makes me sick that all these people buying fake stuff and dont know..he bought it at lhs as real..he would have never known and i wouldnt have either if i hadnt stumbled on this amazing site over a year ago..i felt bad for the kid so i gave him fee bucks for gas..he tried to basically give it to me but i dont want that crap..the plastic housing just looked shiny..lol

Don't charge while hot.

Don't use the Mighty while charging.

Keep the mighty between 40%-80% for the best battery life. Lithium ion don't like being depleted nor do they like a full charge.

Use the filling tool, it's really slick.

Clean your CU every 2-4 sessions.

Place a fine mesh screen in a domed shape into the bowl so that you don't get particles in your CU. This will also keep the material in the conductive portion of the chamber.

Do not leave your Mighty standing up. It is slightly less prone to falling than a house of cards.

Welcome @TSXvapes ! Regarding @Winegums suggestions to use a domed screen, that is in place of the liquid pad and to use in the event you don't want to fill the oven. It's used as a spacer.

There are pictures on here (or the Crafty thread) showing how the domed screen fits into the cu. Another method to create a spacer in place of the liquid pad is to take a regular pipe screen and cut a wedge out of it so it looks like pac man. Draw te 2 edges together creating a cone shape. Put that on top of your material to act as a spacer and reattach the cu. hope that's not confusing...

Welcome.
No kayaking!
(a now-old inside joke here)
It may seem a daunting task, but there is a wealth of good information available in this thread.

Medium-to-fine grind; dry material; if less than full, put oil pad on top, or one of other top screen/dome screen options. The idea is so that material is not loosely swirling around in there. On the other hand, you don't want a tight pack, either.
Cleaning method and frequency may become more apparent based on your type of use. Lots of variations on ways to do that, too! Look fwd to harvest of some very interesting condensate (resin) from inside that cooling unit!
Enjoy!

Edit. If I cleaned my c/u after every 2-4 sessions, that would be several times/day. I find I can go about 5 to 7 days before it's noticeably harder to turn the mouthpiece, and literally feeling overall heavier and less 'hollow'. As I mentioned, many variations...

I am a cheap ass. When I smoked and vaped spending $300-$500 on a vape seemed crazy when you could get one that worked great for $175-$200. That's why I went with a Haze V3.0 on sale and an Underdog. Both around $175 and work VERY WELL!! So well that I was able to quit smoking about 5 moths ago completely with those 2 units! Well... Damn VaS and GaS are also a bitch now and dropping $2k this month on glass and vapes somehow seems reasonable? How did this madness happen? I was frugal just a few months ago I promise!! Now I am selling shit to buy a Mighty, Evo, and a bunch of new glass all in the same month. Haha, just waiting on some paypal funds and then I think I will join you guys in team Mighty. This purchase snuck up on me honestly as this vape wasn't even on my radar until recently with all the new upcoming stuff.

You cannot estimate extraction by abv color. My Mighty abv never gets as dark as some other vapes. But put it in a high temp vape like the Nano, and nothing is left. This is the only real way to test the thoroughness of your extraction....try the ABV in a vape you know can get close to 430F. If you get no substantial vapor, the Mighty is doing its job.

I do have a few questions, Most of the time I like to fully extract my herb. I mean I like that shit almost black when I am done and monster clouds that resemble smoke when I'm in the mood. I only buy A+ Primo weed so I do take some nice cool flavor hits too but when I really want effects I want the big clouds which usually results in dark ABV. The Haze and underdog do a great job at this, so well that I don't even need to save my ABV at some of my desired temps because there is nothing left.

With the combination of conduction and convection I figured this device would probably do a better job at a full extraction than almost any other portable but some say that's not the case. Is the Mighty capable of completely extracting everything out as good or better than conduction vapes like the Haze? Can you get a full, cough inducing, Choker when you want to with this thing? If you vape your ABV in a Evo or Log after is here anything left?

Hi all,

Just sent in my crafty for warranty return. wondering if I should try and get them to upgrade me to the mighty. Is the mighty any better in terms of not failing and having to warranty it? Is it less prone to failing?

I think many here will say the Mighty fails less than the Crafty. But we don't have true stats on that.

I think you should mostly consider how you use it. The Mighty is better for heavy use and if stealth is not as important to you.

Yes, and yes. And yes. From my experience the Mighty extracts everything. I cannot get any visible vapor from Mighty ABV, even in my Nano cranked to ten.

It will deliver hits of any size, from wispy to massive clouds. It requires no stirring, has nearly zero draw restriction, never burns or overcooks your weed, hence no burned popcorn taste, and no black or charred ABV. It's foolproof, tasty, airy, massive-buzz-delivering, and requires no work from loading to full extraction.

Perfect, right? :nod::rockon:

Cool thanks for the lowdown :). I logged 195 hrs on the crafty within 10 months. I'm thinking I should try and see if they'll allow me to upgrade and I can use my haze for portability/stealth.

I heard some people are asked to pay 30$ for the upgrade while others are asked for 150$. Any ideas what the current cost is?
