Yes on button tops, my flat tops do not work.

Edit. Sunday morning porn pics, Here is the Apollo with a 4" long 18mm male straight stem.

What is that 18mm stem from? That's exactly what I need. I have a very similar setup going with the enano gong and have been getting awesome results but that looks like it would seal better

It's the heater stem out of an old dead " ez vape" type box vape.

Edit: here is a Similar type stem I think*

Edit * unsure on length.

I am thinking about taking the plunge on this vape. Is the VAT refunded if we don't live in Europe?

@Hanafuda

The price is different if you order from the USA as I understood it.

In Europe the Apollo costs 279€, including 24% VAT from Finland. If you order to the USA the Apollo only costs 249$ because the 24% VAT is subtracted.

How it is for other countries I dont know. Just remembering this Euro and US thing from previous posts in this thread.

Edit: Typos. :/

$279/1.24 is $225 Euros......plus whatever conversion is applicable.

For the $CAD......I think it was about 1.5 when I ordered ($337 CAD) and the $USD was around 1.1 ($248) .....or perhaps $249 when AtomicPB ordered.

.....plus shipping and PayPal fees

My apologies, deliveries are a little bit late. Second batch shippings are about a week late of the schedule and remaining first batch orders are to be delivered within this week.

I'm actually a little relieved. I forgot I was going away for a couple of days for a wedding and didn't want my apollo to come when I wasn't here.

Is it signature? In that case it would be ok. I kept picturing the box on the front porch in the rain or getting stolen, glad I'll be around to get it.

Yup, with all the pics and videos out there, I decided that I don't want to wait any longer and will get this sent to me ahead of the release of the Helios.

I contacted Ville and he agreed that it wouldn't make sense to wait for the Helios since shipping isn't really that much and also because there is no firm date for a Helios release.......but it sure sounds like he has a lot of irons in the fire.

If I like the Helios as much as I suspect, I will be getting it anyway......and maybe a slight delay will do me some good and perhaps give me something to look forward to for next Christmas.

I still have a few accessories to add to my current order, which I will get resolved this weekend, but I was the 4th unit sold of the second pre-order - so even with a week's shipping delay there is a good possibility that I get my Apollo before my birthday in the first week of April.

Whoooo......hooooo!

I was the FC'er that had originally asked Ville if a cherry stained version might be available. The responsiveness of Ville to customer feedback is absolutely amazing!

My response to this inquiry came by way of Ville posting a freshly stained cherry colored Apollo on FC and then sending me an email saying that he had picked up a bottle of cherry stain to try and that it wouldn't be a problem if I wanted one in cherry........and I even got to see what it would look like through the pics he posted on FC at the same time.

Unbelievable !!! :o

However, after looking through the Venus website and seeing all the available glass globe color options for the Venus ......I realized that aside from the functionality of the vaporizer itself, that Ville has also made it a priority to provide options to his customers on the aesthetic side as well

But after seeing more pics of the dark oak, it is kind of ironic that I am finding myself in agreement with Ville that this stain is also my favourite.

Then I see the natural oak and think, "Wow, that is really fine looking too!", and I see yet another photo of a cherry stained Apollo and I find myself reminded why I suggested that shade in the first place :p

There really is no wrong choice with any of the aesthetic color options available for the Apollo :)

They are all functional, beautiful works of art and craftsmanship that might very well set the gold standard for a portable session vape that with a higher powered bulb (2nd gen 35W bulb) would also border on the "on-demand" territory of portable vaporizers.

Happy Birthday to me :D

The 60 Second Assasin
Okay I am not going to post a review, but I am going to comment.

I will start off by saying I do love this thing. I think Ville described it best when he said it's like a train. A while to get going, but once it's going it's very strong.

I also want to say that I had to do 2 mods to get it to where I actually do love it. First one was to block the bottom air path by putting a thin piece of silicone cut to the size of a dime or so. This was necessary to get clouds.

Once I got clouds, a second mod needed to be performed. Someone mentioned the cooling unit and since I have a few spares I had no problem donating one to this cause. I felt it was too harsh for me without it. However, with it... It is another story, so flavor packed, so intuitive hitting the boost while you inhale, brilliant!

I can attach the cooling chamber securely by using a silicone band that used to fit around a globe atomizer from a vape pen.

I wouldn't call it a Mighty Killer, but it doesn't have to be. I love them both!

@Herbie Hancock : I see that you got an Ascent so you are likely used to the right sipping technique this vape requires. If you draw too strong you get nothing, and you have thus to create the restriction yourself by drawing very softly...

But you said (like another poster or maybe two) that you needed to cover one of the air intakes of the Apollo to get clouds. Does this mean that you can't get them just by drawing more slowly? Is there a dilution source after the bowl? Otherwise it seems a bit odd that getting too much air before the bowl could be such a problem in practice.

I wouldn't say that you need to cover the intakes to get clouds. Doing so helps make it a bit easier to regulate your draw rate though. The airpath is so wide that it can be easy to draw somewhat quickly even when you're trying to keep it slow, especially if you're lifted already, so covering one/both of the intakes partially just helps to make it a bit less "manual" in a sense. In my experience (3 nights with my Apollo before leaving for a couple weeks), the Apollo requires a little technique to maximize. I don't mean anything complicated, but more that you just need to get a little used to it.

Here's how my first night went: First time I booted up the Apollo, I was satisfied, but not extremely impressed (I had very high expectations). After that, I checked the load and noticed it was still mostly green. Booted it up again a few minutes later and experimented a bit with draw speeds and boost timing, and then I started to get some much bigger clouds. I think it was a combination of starting to get accustomed to the technique a little bit, as well as the unit being a little warmed up or heat-soaked.

The next night, on my first session, I definitely got considerably better results than the first session the previous night: solid clouds and nice taste. Again though, I still noticed that it got better in the next session. I also think that the train analogy is a good one. Once you warm it up is when it really gets going. Even if you wait ~30 minutes (if I'm remembering right) between your sessions, it will pick up where it left off unless it has truly cooled back to 0. As I mentioned above, I think technique plays in, too.

On the whole I suppose I might recommend taking the first few minutes to really enjoy some of the flavors on some of the lower settings, and then either pumping the heat up immediately for some clouds, or doing another session a bit later at a higher setting for the same purpose.

Interested to hear how other owners' experiences compare. I apologize for taking a while to get my thoughts up, as well, and I'm hoping that I'm remembering everything relevant, as I suppose it was about a week ago that I had my first sessions with the Apollo.
