I've had my Crafty since December '15 and it's been great. The Crafty does a fantastic job of cooling vapour considering the short distance from the bowel to my lips. However, I've found, in terms of cooling, it can't compete with my MFLB which had a longish glass stem.

I know I can add a water tool etc but has anybody tried the glass mouthpiece for the Crafty. I see that Vapefiend have one for sale and was wondering how much difference it's likely to make.

Would you mind going into a little bit more detail with this?

I put my CU into 99.9% iso once a month or so (not a hugely heavy user). I leave it for about an hour and then remove and wipe/rinse. How do you then get the goodies out of the iso, just let it sit and evaporate?

I put the ISO through a coffee filter.

I got mine from vapefiend but that was before someone here mentioned the company "vaping fans"; It's half the price there!

I personally don't feel it makes much difference to be honest, if it does, it's marginal.
But it gives a very nice tactile feel on the lips.

I always say it's like drinking from a glass cup, versus a plastic cup.
I like the feel of glass on my lips and always opt for a glass cup.
It doesn't change the taste of the liquid, but it feels better than plastic on your lips.

Same thing here IMHO.

Does anyone here use the crafty for concentrates?

I couldn't find someone using the crafty with concentrates only ( with the pad not flowers) , does anyone know if one exists?

I'm looking for a good portable solution that could do both flower and concentrate but I'm wondering if the concentrate pads are worthy or if they really work well?

I'm a Crafty fan, but isn't the haze 3 designed with 2 ovens for that dual use?

Hi all. So I've had this Crafty for about 9 months and I love it, except the battery life. The battery has been getting worse and worse, recently it started dropping down from full (solid blue light) to nil (rapid flashing) after only one 10 minute use. Charging would go straight from rapid flashing to solid light in a very short time.

Then, yesterday, it stopped charging at all, I get a flash when I plug in the charger, then all lights off.


I'm hoping the PCB ICs are OK, and the problem is limited to a bad battery. Ever since I owned this unit, it has had a strange symptom of going into boost heat even though I didn't double click. My first crafty never had this issue (lost it on the golf course).


So now I need to do something about it. My plan is two fold:
A) Buy a handheld corded vape
B) Repair the Crafty


A) Need suggestions here.. I want a vape with qualities similar to the crafty, but corded. I don't want a desktop unit. Thinking about the Plenty, but not sure about the vapour quality.

B). OK so some may say, send to S&B. Here's the thing I don't want to Int'l ship something that may have traces of material that has questionable legal status in different jurisdictions.
I am a working electronic technologist with 15 years experience. I am reasonably confident I can replace the battery. I know the risks of working with lithium batteries and am capable of working safely (I am also an electric helicopter hobbiest). I know it will void the warranty.
I'm now in the market for un-protected 18650 cells with spot welded solder tabs.
The original ncr18650pf supports 10A continuous drain current and is rated for 2900mAh.
There are loads of higher drain cells out there but the mAh is lower. I'd like a cell that can meet the drain requirement of the crafty, and last as long as possible. Hopefully there is a product out there that is better than the original.
The ncr18650b has a much higher 3400mAh rating, but continous drain current is only 6.7A, I'm not sure that's enough for the crafty. It may take too long to heat up, or it could be perfect. If it's enough current, the extra capacity would make for much longer sessions. Considering buying a ncr18650b and a ncr18650pf and trying both. Suggestions are welcome.

I would send the crafty in for replacement, but ask for a mighty upgrade.
....I don't know what they charge these days for a crafty->mighty upgrade.

A) For effect/vapor quality, I've been told by many that the plenty is a very close match to the crafty/mighty.
I personally have a Volcano digital, it's an awesome desktop, but nearly double the price of the plenty and it's bag (depends if you want bag or not). I love my volcano but I think if you are adamant you want the same experience, you might prefer a direct draw like the plenty.

B) Regarding battery selection, I would suggest speaking to @Vambo1980 he has replaced his batteries several times now. Maybe he could tell you which worked best in his experience.

However if I were you, I would clean out the base unit thoroughly with ISO (you don't have to send the cooling unit).
Use your warranty while you have it, but it's your call.

l have crafty (5 mts) and plenty (1 mts)

.. the thing i noticed
i can use crafty going up +5c/10f degrees so lots of steps in temp (..i like the effect)
..also its great just at low temp - good visible vapor at 165c (330f)

im finding plenty cant really do precision temp control like that unless you play with on/off switch


so i guess it might depend on your preferred vaping technique

EDIT storz and bickel vapes seem to always deliver ..so its a great vape

oh and its a coiled whip ..much longer vapor path so much longer slow draws needed

Just an update on my warranty issue. Last post I mentioned that I asked them what will be covered under warranty after they told me that they recommend me to get the Battery Service. They said they would fix red/yellow flashing lights. They made no mention of the housing. I sent another email asking why the housing wasn't covered. Remember they wanted me to get Battery Service which includes firmware update, shipping costs and new housing. This time they responded that the housing was on of the few things that will be addressed under warranty. And once again they asked me if I wanted battery service or opt out.

So after confirming that the housing will be covered under the warranty I told them I will pass on the Battery Service. My thoughts are if they are going to replace the electronics and housing that they will just end up sending me a new Crafty. And if that is the case they will not waste the time to unsolder my battery and put it in the new crafty. I figure I will test my luck. I refuse to pay for battery service when 75% of the cost of battery service is covered under my warranty claim.

I'll let you know when I get it back if they just gave me a whole new Crafty. Just be careful if your sending yours in for warranty and they email back recommending battery service.

bad news my 4th Crafty is dead today :'( after 110+ hours, i asked for a mighty upgrade... the long wait begin !!
