Discontinued The Venus Apollo

Mister G

Deceptively Old Fart
Well I don't have one yet but I'm thinking of just sending it to you off the batt so you can do your thing. Either eliminate the glass all together (if possible) or make an mp like the Zion to fit in the glass. I'm sure having the unit will be the best bet.

Not sure if it's possible, but maybe try and make it in a way where you can still see the lighted vapor inside the stem? Just throwing it out there, visible vapor flow imo is a big feature of this vape (and many others that I like).

Appreciate all the good pics and info @vapen00b @radiant34 @Joel W. @smutman and anyone else I missed mentioning.
I've been studying this bad boy for a long time now and just can't stop!
So intrigued with its style and tech.

I would like to hear more reports on how the abv is coming out with .1 to .3 without being able to stir it any.
Does some shaking work enough?
How about with .3 in there, is there still some room for it to move around a bit ?
Or is .3 pretty packed?

Also, I understand that the air path is pretty much wide open, so how's the heat from that blaze n halogen on your throat?

I know everyone wants to see those milky bubbler hits but I'm more interested on how it's goin perform dry.

Here's a couple abv pics from yesterday's trial run. No stirring needed. Even when packed full it moves around when you inhale. I threw it in my E-nano afterwards and got nothing unless turned up past 7.5.

This vape is real good when hitting outside, as the temperature does affect the hits. I suggest you get the longer stem if you feel that heat might irritate your throat. the longer stem really makes a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference!

I love this beauty! It's so aesthetically and ergonomically pleasing to the eyes. It's beautiful wood, simple grain, nothing too crazy with patterns or anything, but there's just something attractive about that block wood look.

It does take a good minute to heat up. I found that the slower you draw the better hits you get as well, although there is 0 draw resistance i find that pulling on it slowly lets the heat mix with the a herb a bit longer to cook it much fully. The boost thing is interesting, correct me if im wrong but is there a little light bulb inside by the mouthpiece insertion area? That's really cool! The bulb on the bottom does get much noticeably brighter when you boost and your on 50% but i wonder if that additional lamp at the top adds additional heat? This thing is really made of wonders. Also been messing around with the features. Set my temp time to 1:50 (manual was set at 2:15) also upped my boost to max (manual was middle) and im using 10% incremental settings. Was wondering what other Apollo users settings are as well? Also i make sure to compact my load with a pipe screen net, works wonders when the load doesn't move around. I usually load it small and this thing extracts real quick.

Every reports here are positives, it's great!

Long story short, I jumped on the Venus 2 years ago and was unlucky cause the Venus I got (not apollo) was not working properly...I was not alone and I asked for a refund (it was a bad batch cause suppliers issues), VilleKille refunded me pretty quickly!

I'm disappointed cause I can't afford the Apollo but I'm happy to see a small company growing and making such nice vapes. Maybe I'll jump on the Helios if the price range is cheaper...

Has anyone of us lucky ones found a nice pouch/bag/whatever to store and carry it for the Apollo?
@Ratchett Do you think you could provide a nice leather sleeve like the one for the GH?:)

I would *LOVE* the opportunity to design an authentic leather case for this sexy vaporizer.

Although I don't have an Apollo yet to lend to my friend to take measurements and test-fit the prototypes. @villekille2 - do you happen to have any sort of 3D models of the Apollo which I could use to 3D print a generic profile of the vaporizer so my friend can test-fit the piece? Hell all I need is an overall 2-D profile and the thickness and i could print a profile for my friend. I don't need/want your detailed proprietary 3D models haha

Also what other sorts of slots should we put in this case? I'm guessing a slot for a doob tube, but what else?

Now that's just beautimist!

Good to know. I was thinking/wishing the complete opposite. With the size of the MP, the free flowing path, the boost,
I was thinking that one would be able to rip on it pretty hard.

Pack her up, jack up that temp, hit the boost and honk on it.
Any takers!
Thanks again for all this great info FC'ers

In case someone really feels that the maximum boost power is not enough, one can change the bulb to a 35W type (original is 20W). This is nearly doubling of the power so it should be more than enough.

Hi Ville,

Does this mean that you have a 35W bulb that you will be offering in your store that also has the high surface area 2nd generation bulb design?

It is not just about the power, but also about the heat transfer .....it would be awesome if you were commissioning 35W bulbs with high surface area glass bulbs.

I don't have them currently in stock but I could order such bulbs. And as the bulbs are small, it is not a problem to send them in a simple envelope to customers if later someone wants to order, I would expect worldwide postage to be under $2.

I have packed mine full, just threw a little grind in, put a little nug in and a little nug with some grind in too. All work just fine and I didn't need to stir anything. Depending how much I pack in (3/4-full), I can run the chamber through 2 times. The lesser pack bowls sorta stir themselves. My ABV is coming out light brown all over. I do see a little light green in the nugs but for the most part it vapes the nugs throughout.

As for my throat, it isn't really bothering it. Now when I hit the boost I can tell a little difference but nothing to get upset over to me. Also, the 140mm tube will solve this problem for sure plus I vape at lower temps too (start at 6 end at 4 or 3).

temp time-2:15 boost-mid (tried all 3 and like this one the best) and use 10% (haven't tried 5% yet). I start at 6 and end at 4 sometimes 3. I use the boost 2-3 times each session. I like to pack mine tight if I am gonna use it for "all morning" and pack it light for a quick session before running errands. I'll keep saying this: this vape is putting vape after vape of mine in my vape graveyard.

That boost light freaked me out a little when I first hit it, wasn't expecting the "cop light" lol. The slower I can draw, the better session I seem to have. I love watching my friends who know nothing about vapes except e-juice vapes and hit this. The look on their face when they get their first draw, that "whoa wtf is this, where have you been all my life" look, is priceless lol.

Hey smutman,
Great report! Thanks a lot! :)
Be sure to post pics of your "enlightened" dudes! :D
Busted! *snapshot* ;)

Gotta try your temp stepping back.
How do you apply the boost - hit the button while drawing? Or preheating? Pulsing?

Have a great day everyone!

I've been holding the boost to build up the heat then take short, quick cigar puffs. The airflow is too wide open for me to just inhale however I tried it last night with concentrates wrapped in cotton and it was the opposite. After it got to temp I could rip it as hard as I wanted and it just kept pouring vapor. The cotton came out completely white except where the wax had been too so no burning or anything.

There's a whole bunch of bulb options if you look online you might be able to find something. But I do think a 35 watt would eat the batteries much quicker

Try sippin on it especially on lowery temps the flavor is amazing

You're welcome and I'll take some shots of my aftermath today. I apply my boost little after it has just heated up, around the middle and/or towards the end (usually 2 times with small loads, 3 times with big loads). I also don't hold it very long, just enough to sorta kick start the taste and get a quick shot.

I am gonna try @Nssl method and do some concentrates through it tonight. I wish I had some miVape oil cloths, think those would work perfect with concentrates through the Apollo.

@radiant34 is right on point. Do it like the Beastie Boys said "slow and low". Also, that is a tight pic of your Apollo.

Has anyone had a close call burning themselves while using the Apollo, or while removing it's oven? That seems to be my only concern with this beauty.

The first time I wrapped my hands around it while heating solved me of this problem. I pull up on the glass and tip to the side and let it fall out on my desk then wait a few to clean the chamber or just wait a few mins to cool to take out by hand. Over all though mine doesn't get hot enough to really burn you (meaning the actual vape itself) but the chamber can. I have unloaded it by hand right after a session and it was a "whoa shit shit whew" but no damage, no missing skin.

I'm having a hard time getting this dialled in.

Firstly if you leave it on max with stuff in there, it'll combust without even taking a draw!

I've been trying it around 6-8. It seems too cool to get decent vapour to start. After a while, no matter what level it's on it'll get really hot, and you have to dial it right back.

The manual suggests that when you set the power level the effect should be instantaneous, I haven't found this to be the case.

It also says you can use a low level to heat up and boost to draw, this sounds ideal but in practice it doesn't do much for me. This was after setting boost to max.

When it does work the flavour is OUTSTANDING. And I have had good clouds, just not consistent. Effect is great too, really got smashed on it.

If you have it on for 10+ mins the whole thing gets really hot, uncomfortably so. And that chamber really should be covered. Forget changing it halfway through, you will get burned! Needs a good 5-10 mins to cool before touching.

There's an excellent vape in there somewhere, I need to spend more time playing with the options to 'get it'.... but as of now I'm not really convinced.

Any tips?

I'm still trying to figure mine out as well. The problem is after 2 sessions of tinkering with it I'm completely wrecked. It has put me to bed early the last 2 nights. I feel like there may be too much outside air entering the air path by the herb chamber. I'm in the process of hollowing out a wooden door to cover the herb chamber while in use. I'm hoping it will add a little draw resistance
