Thanks for all your answers concerning this little imperfection.
Yes, it has been like this from the beginning. Don't care about it anymore. Meanwhile I think it's ok.

The thing that really frustrates me is the fact, that I am not able to milk my glass.
The GH did this exactly once (the first draw after I charged the battery) but since then... Incredibly weak performance. I'm sure the unit has to be broke since I already tried different grind consistencies, different pack sizes, different draw speeds, etc.
AVB comes out pretty much unchanged. Almost completely green. Even after 3-4 big hits on level 5 through my bubblers.

I am facing huge draw restrictions when plugging it onto my glass. At least IMO (can't really compare it, since I only have the Crafty as a portable).
Even when i plug it with a completely empty chamber.
I bought a reducing-adapter for my 18mm glass which gives me a 14mm female input for the GH with the silicone. Couldn't think of a better way to use it ?!

I even get red flashing lights on the first hit when completely cooled down.
That just happened in the moment I am writing this. Unit was fully charged, freshly packed with about .15g of dry herb. Heat level 5. I pressed the button, waited a few seconds until it went blue, plugged it onto my rig, started inhaling and instead of vapor building up in the rig, the lights start to blink red and again. nothing happens.. :-/

But despite the fact that the vapor production is terribly weak for me I on the other hand burned my lip really bad on heat level 3. It was the first draw, I was able to inhale for about 4-5 seconds until it started to get so damn hot . I even used the silicone protection :mental:
Didn't get any visible vapor on all my dry hits. Probably it's because I can't stand to inhale more than a few seconds.

Anyone want to chime in here and help me out ?!

Thanks
it could be the grass your smoking is particularly less oily(trichomes) more oils on the plant more vapor production.

Red flashing light for the first hit after a full charge... perhaps the battery is dodgy?

@ Tony Timeless I have a Ti model and do not have that imperfection but the back of mine at the button end where the cylindrical body ends the casing is very sharp around the edge.

No biggie but thought they would have polished these bits to make them smoother and complete the "high end" finish.

Unit works great however currently rocking the MFLB glass stem mod and it makes a big difference in terms of reducing heat - this is a superb little unit!
hit it trough a bong, man! Hopper is made to do so when you are at home. for on the go purposes- yes!!!! MFLB glass piece is awesome solution. because it fits trough that silicone mouthpiece hole. i ordered it already from VapeFiends, together with other nice stuff.

Hi Tony Timeless,
I am waiting patiently in pre-order purgatory. However, my hunch is that you have fallen into the rabbit hole. Pay no attention to the Mad Hatter. Find Alice. Good luck.

:myday:

It's really dark down here...

Just contact the retailer you got it from stating exactly what you've written there. If its not extracting even on the highest temperature that's no bueno. Just contact hopper labs or vapefiend or whoever- they will be able to help you better then any of us. Oh and include a pic of the small defect .

Will do, thanks!

it could be the grass your smoking is particularly less oily(trichomes) more oils on the plant more vapor production.

Unfortunately this ain't the reason. If I pack the green AVB in the crafty i get thick vapor. Meds I have are full of trichomes btw

Red flashing light for the first hit after a full charge... perhaps the battery is dodgy?

Thought about that as well. but i can simply click it again and it's blue again,
but it seems like this is happening all the time now.
After every 3-4 seconds, i get nothing but red blinking lights.

Really frustrating.

Tony, you're broke. Take it from someone who got their 6th body yesterday. Fill out the warranty request.

The Pax isn't a pain to clean, it's a pain to clean every day. The frequency was my issue.

The one I got yesterday seems fine. It has shut off mid hit a couple times. Once thru glass the other during a pretty strong rip, so it wasn't due to the sensor.

The charger they sent is strange. First time connecting it the Hopper stayed red. Unhooked it, tried again, crazy blinking patterns. Unplugged the charger from the wall (hopper still hooked up) and the Hopper stayed red. Spooky.

Oh, and it didn't have any batteries in the package either. I have a couple already tho.

Other than that, worked fine since yesterday.

Hey people,

quick question:

Hope anyone can recognize this little gap or nonalignment? Is this common?
Don't want to be nit-picking here, but it looks al least a little unpleasant?

I have this on mine too... December 11 backer. I think this is what the new clip rings look like. I suspect they are holding a bunch of parts together inside... the old style ring had the slits up the side of the clip. This newer style makes a complete unbroken circle around the hopper, BUT has this little lip on it like pictured.
Does anyone else's occasionally need to be clicked a couple times to engage? Mine feels not so smooth when turning on sometimes. I also sometimes think i'm not getting as much heat inside the chamber as i am outside it, and at the ring. Not always, just sometimes....on both of these counts...

Question for @Ratchett i use your loading funnels for my GH and Pax 2. Would be great if these could fit in a Jyarz Classic for transportation. Would this be possible?

Thanks! I don't make a funnel specifically for the grasshopper to fit into the @JyARz classic, but I do make a retractable JyARz funnel which fits into the container for transportation. I used this pretty effectively with the grasshopper, but I actually preferred loading a grasshopper from a Doob Tube more - felt easier to control loading the herb without spilling it (because I could rock the tube from side to side and gently load the vape even in a moving vehicle)

I just received this email.

At first I thought it was my preorder delivery address confirmation.

Our wait times just increased. :bang:

Grasshopper Pre-order
Grasshopper Pricing

Hi,

We wanted to let you know that there will be a price increase of $25 dollars per-unit starting March 15th. If you are interested in adding a few units to your order, you have one week to do so. After the 15th, any previous pricing will not be valid.

With over 80 custom parts, the Grasshopper is an incredibly expensive product to build. We’ve worked hard to keep the price as low as possible and will continue to do. However, we will not sacrifice quality. Our primary goal remains providing a top tier device at an affordable price. As the company has grown, so have our costs. In the beginning we were able to do much of the work ourselves, but fulfilling 1000s of orders requires a talented team and specialized machines.

There are many of you still anxiously awaiting delivery and we will have all of those units out shortly. As always, we truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on our progress moving forward.

The Grasshopper Team.

Just exchanged emails with HL and they stated they had no official directions for general transport of their batteries. They mentioned that their employees usually carry them in a pocket or purse sometimes in direct contact with the GH itself.

A price increase is on the way. Looks like the Vapefiend deal got even sweeter.

I get why GH is letting people add to their orders, but that combined with the long backorder time encourages opportunistic buyers to act as scalpers, adding as many as they can to their order so they can pawn them off, which puts all the regular preorder customers even further back in line.

Then again, I'm sure to GHL a unit sold is a unit sold.

To some extent you are correct in saying "a unit sold is a unit sold" and someone will either buy it or not.

But since the wait was such a long time and early pre-orders are still shipping then this is perhaps GHL's way of thanking those who waited that long - by giving them one last opportunity to add to their unshipped order?

This way they can equip their loved ones who might be interested in grabbing one ......or perhaps grab a couple to flip on eBay and make a few bucks for their aggravation in waiting so long to receive their hopper? :)

At this point in time not only have backers waited a long time but preorders as well. I am a July 2015 pre-order.....so it will be a while. But if a Jan 2015 pre-order wanted to add a couple for their brother or sister then since they have already waited 7 mos longer than I have......I have no problem waiting a little longer. I doubt that any additions to early pre-order purchases at this point is going to result in my waiting an additional 7 mos because of these additions. :o

So in the end the early pre-orders and backers are rewarded for keeping faith and providing much needed cash flow when GHL may have really needed the money to survive and move forward. :uhh:

I guess I could cry about it and rant about unfairness......but life isn't fair - so why expect it?

GHL will catch up to filling all their pre-orders......that is why the price has increased. Future orders will not have to wait as long for their hoppers so they will now have to pay what the market will bear in order for Grasshopper to make a profit and grow as a company.

People who got their hoppers cheaper, for the most part had to pay the additional premium of waiting......but with a price increase you can consider this wait to be a good return on your investment. :sherlock: :hmm:;)

Exactly what bank were you going to be sticking your money in for the past year or two where you would have seen an increase in value from $135 to $175? (Stainless, 29.6%)

Or from $185 to $235 (Ti Colour w/sleeve, 27%, Ti w/sleeve 30.5%)

The later purchasers are also paying a premium for upgrades and more reliable units......pretty much all the backers were guinea pigs and paid the least but took the most risk and also had to deal with more warranty returns. :suspicious:

As the risk declines.....the price goes up.

Any early pre-orders that waited 6 mos more than I did want to add to your order?

Go right ahead, you won't hear any whining from me......and I feel your pain for the long wait.

However, you adding a unit to your imminent order for your new girlfriend (btw, an awesome present) is not going to result in me having to wait another 6 mos for me to receive my pre-order. So grab another one for the person you love.....guilt free.......if your long wait allowed you to save an extra $40 and another couple of months of more waiting ....then go for it.

GHL will catch up with all pre-orders, even in a worst case scenario where people add onto their orders en masse, probably by the start of summer. Which at most might add maybe a 2 month delay (if even that) for my own order.

No biggee.......I came to the party late......but I didn't have to wait anywhere near as long to get in. :ugh:

So I'm not going to complain about it.......it won't make me any happier, and my hopper won't get here any quicker. :hmm: :D

P.S. - I am not affiliated with GHL in any way.......and I hate waiting as much as anyone else. But I am happy to know that my wait is going to save me $40 in savings over someone purchasing a Grasshopper a month from now - who may only have to wait a month or two to get their hopper.

What, he said nothing of the sort. He said he wasn't going to rant about the unfairness, which he didn't. He made a logical reply about GHL pre-order add-on policy. It might be a bit long winded, but it isn't a rant. To clarify what a rant is:

rant
rant/
verb
  1. 1.
speak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way.

Thanks for the reply. I use the Jyarz because they are smell proof and not clear- if the funnel inside the lid would be perfect for me. Just to big at the moment. But thanks anyway.

Where is the mouthpiece from?

I think it's this one... a pity it's out of stock, I really like the way it looks!

http://ineedhemp.com/product/2-pack-glass-mouthpieces-for-v2-5-ceramic-donut-atomizer/

@b0 does it cool down significantly the vapor?

BTW, to anyone using the glass mflb stem mod... You are using it without the GH mouthpiece, right? It looks like that in the pics, but i'm not sure. If so, are you using any screen with it?

Thanks for your help guyz, you really make my GH wait more interesting :D
