It'll be some kicker if I save and buy both, and then they launch a sexy hybrid of the two.

It's been said before, but, if the crafty had a replaceable battery, it would decimate all!

If they released a replaceable battery model, it would sell like hotcakes and almost make the mighty redundant. I can't help but feel this is part of the reason they didn't.

Looking at the history of S&B, they tend to stick to a design and see it through (with only minor revisions). I think it would be a while before they considered an updated crafty.

My new 2.10 Crafty doesn't connect to the unofficial app.
And speaking of vibration, it switches on very fast, to the point it's impossible to press the orange button just a little to switch Bluetooth on. As short as you can press you'll turn it on.
My old 2.05 unit would hit harder too.

Is everybody getting the full package when getting a warranty replacement? Im waiting for mine. First one, retailer only gave me the bottom part and the orange tool, not even a box.

It's been in my dreams for a while....size of the Crafty with the digital control/LCD of the Mighty and a swappable battery OR just an extra cell in there to get "mighty" battery life.

If they released a replaceable battery model, it would sell like hotcakes and almost make the mighty redundant.

Although a replaceable battery model would be amazing, I still would need that LCD screen and precision control. Drop the bluetooth gimmick IMO.

Both of my replacements were new in box Craftys with all accessories and the tamper proof seal on the box still in tact. My first replacement also came with a wear and tear kit and a car charger while the second came with a spare cooling unit. Both were handled by S&B Oakland.

Sounds like the retailer you used opened the box and took the accessories for some reason. Not cool. Maybe use S&B directly for future issues.

Perhaps the only good thing about the high failure rate on the Crafty is I can be lazy with cleaning my cooling unit since I have about 5 of them.

What's up,

I have the airizer air and just bought the flowermate mini pro. Got the flowermate mini pro for adventures and outings such as snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking ect...

Love some features such as the pods that I can load and just have ready on the go. Also love the powerbank function, size, and value. I plan on getting a wooden mouthpiece so it's more durable.

My question for y'all is do you think the crafty would fit my bill and be worth the upgrade? My issue with the flowermate is efficiency as it can't even touch my air. Thanks for your responses!

I have the Solo, flowermate v5s and the crafty.

The performance difference between a FM v5s and a crafty is huge!
The flowermate is good value for money, but if you have the extra $$$ the crafty is definitely worth it!

I don't use my solo much anymore since the crafty and the FM is officially retired! :rip:

It will perform in the scenarios you mentioned.

Word of warning though... I get 3 bowls per charge with the crafty.... although these days after 40 hours it's more like 2.7

Oh man, I wonder if everybodys getting the same? Or any other cases where only the heater was sent. I actually asked for the box from my retailer and they told me they have it.

Im from the Philippines and it would be really hard for me to do this without being taxed by the customs. My retailer knows a way, but id have to give about 45$ for shipping to and from Germany.

Maybe because my unit was from Germany? Anybody else claimed warranty directly from Germany?

It hasnt arrived yet, but if I receive just the heater again, I might have to research on how to send my unit directly to SNB. I wonder if they(snb) can attach a note saying it was a claimed warranty item, maybe that would help me with customs.

Really thinking of getting the Mighty too, but from a different retailer If I dont get the whole package. Im just making sure if everybody is getting the whole package, i really dont want to think that my retailer is opening the box.

Hey BCK!

I don't have the air or fm, but do have a Crafty (and pax2, and others). I love my Crafty, but am not sure it's the best choice for your intended use. In following its thread here, it doesn't seem as durable as some other vapes. But I DO think it's worth adding to you collection.

For active outdoor use, you may want to consider other vapes. If you don't need it fast, you may want to consider the gh. Buzz Danklin's says it's his go to vape now, and he's an outdoor guy like you. And ghl just announced a planned price increase on March 15, so you can still order a real bargain.

Something to think about...

Just be warned GH estimate shipping dates are not accurate in the slightest. You may be waiting many many months after the estimated ship date.

Not to mention their failure rate seems much higher.

In my own personal experience, their failure rate is higher. Never received a DOA unit once in my 10 years of VAS until the GH. Now a price increase? LMAO!

Pretty sure i'll be getting another Crafty now that spring is in the air, and the Mighty is not discrete enough in my palm. The GH just cannot do what the Crafty can, but everyone has different needs/preferences....like i'm a session guy, and not a one hit and quit like the GH offers. Plus, the GH is just too uncomfortable without a Crafty CU attached

1st Crafty: red/yellow lights of death at 27 hrs:|......denied warranty (S&B said water damage):(.......I disputed claim and wanted further explanation:hmm:.......horrible customer service ensued .......after more than a month, S&B accepts my point of view, gives in an sends me replacement:rockon:

2nd Crafty: at 79 hrs, On/off button does not function. Rattling can be heard from inside unit:|......filled out RMA......S&B says, "your repair request has been received. You will be notified as soon as your request is reviewed."........still waiting for a response (its the weekend).

Been super careful with this one..........really babied it with minimal kayaking!:brow:

Really loved this thing!

heat-up time was @ 3min. 15sec. (but i could deal with it 'cause its so awsome)

Now back to the :mflb: and i-inhale....

This should be straight forward......Have others with non functioning buttons had any problems with warranty service? Did S&B send a new unit or fix the existing?

Thanx!!

I just got mine back this week after I returned it to the retailer for the non functioning power button. I sent it out with the charger in the original box without the CU. It was returned in the same manner, but fixed.

Can't comment on S&B Germany but S&B Oakland did label the return package as a warranty exchange on the customs slip and I did not have to pay import duties (I'm in Canada). They also requested that I label the broken unit as a warranty exchange on the customs slip to avoid them having to pay customs fees to receive it.

Just to throw it out there. I ordered the glass mouth stem for my Crafty and also ordered the Crafty 14mm easy flow so I can use my Crafty with my water tools from Vapingfans.com on the 17th of February and I finally just got my shipment today. It was shipped threw out China Post to New Jersey. Just putting it out there for people that are skeptical like I was, ordering from Vapingfans.com and also for $24 usd for both glass pieces are a steal. #HappyVaping

Thanks for the responses! As much as I would love the GH I don't want to spend money on something I'll have to wait 6 months for. Every time I look the shipping dates get pushed further back.

How does the crafty work with .1? That's all I need out of my air to get me feeling great. Durability and size are very important to me as I usually throw my vape in my camelback which can get crowded with lunch, keys, and my phone. I'm not extremely rich and love to use my money for trips so value is also important as my name says... I'm a broke college kid haha

It's a $240 upgrade so I would expect the crafty to last me years and take some falls because well, shit happens. i can't imagine breaking a $400 vape and it not being covered under warranty. It's a huge chunk of change but I only vaporize because of lung issues. If it's compairible to a volcano or other top end vaporizers then it's an investment. But as said before, I'm in need of an adventure vaporizer as I'm very satisfitied with my air for home use.

I've also heard a lot about defective crafty's. Are they defective out of the box or do they work for a little bit then run into issues? Thanks for answering my questions, love this community

I have gotten word back from Storz & Bickel regarding my unit I sent in for warranty. And I am a bit pissed about it. My unit was a v2.04, about 200hrs and I got the red/yellow flashing lights when trying to turn on. Also the housing where the CU is held in place was broken off because of heat/brittle.

And by the way the battery was still doing at least 2 full sessions no problem. Never tried for a third because I always charge before then.

They sent me an email (see below for copy of explanation) with an invoice saying that they will service the warranty issues for free but they recommend the OPTIONAL battery replacement because the amount of usage.

They said Battery service will include Firmware updates, Heat Unit/Charging system performance tests, and our latest updates to the external housing.

So what does this exactly mean if I don't get Battery service:

- They won't replace the housing? Even though mine is broke.
- They won't upgrade firmware? Even though they will obviously have to replace the electronics to solve the flashing lights.
- They will unsolder my old battery and resolder it into a new housing? Yeah right.

Now the big question. Are they trying to screw me into paying $70 when they will just send me a NIB unit anyways?

They are going to charge me for labour on the battery service that includes labour and return shipping even though the warranty should already take care of that.

$40 fucking dollars for a battery that I can get for $12 CAD!!!!

So not sure if I should call them and get some more answers, pay the $70 ($100 CAD) and be done with it. Or just decline the battery service and hope they just send me a NIB unit like it seems everybody else is getting.

What do you guys think?

"Reason For Service: Red / Orange Flash Your device has a significant amount of usage (more than 100+ hours). Please let us know your preference: warranty only or paid repair (includes battery service) Your device will continue to work without the battery service, but you may encounter future decrease in performance. I wouldn't give them a dime as the reason for return is a known defect on the device.

Wow. I knew this was going to be interesting.

It sounds like your frustration is based on assumptions of what they will/will not do resultant to your choice. Will they fix it or send a new one is that the nagging question? Why not let that be their business, how they handle it? They have obligations to say things in certain ways... In the end, you concern should rather be your choices, namely, spend money now or later on battery.

But on it's face, their offer seems reasonable; to fix warranty items and get it back to you in working order. You can elect to spend nothing now and know that you might have to spend the money sometime later to get a battery. Or take door #2 and spend the dough and be about guaranteed a nib piece. But then you will never have the satisfaction of knowing what they'd have returned to you (maybe a new one?) if it had been the "free" door #1.

Long way around to say I agree with @Kaptan ! (above)

And, from what I've read, yes, the battery is astronomically overpriced.

200 hours is pretty good, I'd pay the $70 in a heartbeat unless I lived in oz :2c:

The point is I shouldn't pay anything. If the warranty requires them to replace my Crafty with a new one, because basically that is what they need to do to fix the problem, then they shouldn't make me pay for Battery Service that supposedly include shipping costs, firmware upgrade and new housing. I didn't send it back because if battery issues. If they send me a new crafty then it already comes with a new battery. They are not going to send me a new unit and replace the battery with my old one. They are just fishing for money and that is what really bothers me.

I think this could easily be solved if you just called and asked for clarification as to the scope of the repair if you do not opt for battery replacement.

Exactly what I did. I sent them an email earlier today asking them to clarify what will be fixed/replaced through warranty if I opt out of the Battery Service. Waiting to hear back.
