I have been vaping e cigs for almost four years. I have many mods and almost every manufacturer of mods recommend charging your batteries in a external charger. Most chargers have great safety features built in. Any high drain battery can vent. It's going to happen to a very small percentage of them but it will happen. But by charging your batteries in a external charger you won't have to worry about destroying your hopper.

I have a nite core and a Efest Luc 4. With the Luc 4 you can see exactly how much charge is in the battery and you can adjust between .5 & 1.0 amp recharge to speed up the charge. It will charge your battery to 4.2 volts and stop. It will not overcharge your batteries. This way you don't have to babysit your batteries. I haven't used the hopper charger once. It's still sitting in the box. I have three batteries that I just rotate out of my 4 bay charger.

It's the only way to go in my opinion. Also the Luc 4 has a USB port on the back so you can charge your phone or any usb charging device.

Bad body is what they told me. My new body gets here tomorrow. When you say you took it apart, what all did that entail? Sweet you got it working again. Mine's been down about a week or so.
I do love going back to my Pro and Alfa tho.

I think as the body carries the electric charge it's important to:
A) keep the threads clean
And
B) ensure the components are screwed together tightly (not too tight though, you don't want to break the threads)

I did see that feature. I want to do the setup in reverse though and have the Mu plug as the wall wort (due to its flat pack slim design) and then charge my phone/GH batteries off of that. Also by going with the UM I can use a solar charger for the backpacking sessions.
But I do like the look of the LUC though. Ahhhh decisions!
