Ok... I really want to like the EVO for concentrates. The flower function is right on point. Flavor is great. But with the Quartz VXNs, I can't get a hit that tastes even remotely as good as my Errlectric or my Pens for that matter. The hit I just did tasted horrible. The same (xtractology) Holy Grail Kush oil tastes great in my other devices. What am I doing wrong?

Avoid inhaling the ' entire ' hit .
The very last bit , that leaves the black residue is
what you're inhaling , and that tastes like crap . ime

You'll have to gauge how much dab to use and how much
to hit . try that .

Cloud EVO + MFLBPA
Here's maybe a stupid question, but I have zero experience with wax, shatter, etc.

I do have some infused coconut oil I use for baking.

So my question - can I use the coconut oil on a nail in the EVO? Or is that just a bad idea?

Edit: the coconut oil is currently in the fridge and has the consistency of butter.

@DieHard its the residuals, I had a period where I was wondering what all the fuss was about regarding the taste...people rave and I couldn't replicate.

Slow steady low temp when the vapor gets wispy it's done...then you should leave nail in and it will eventually start smoking/burning off. I find at higher temps on the EVO with cocnectrates, it's easy for me to overshoot that line and start hitting the residuals, which is why I like them lower.

Also like using my own glass and a whip kit for dabs...think it's smoother than myhydratube but ymmv

I love SHATTER.
Take a small ball no larger than .10 grams and put it in a nail.
With a HYDRO-TUBE I take 2 hits of flavor.
If I try to take more hits the flavor becomes harsh.

Like you I use a WAX PEN that I find the flavor to last longer.
However once I get two rips of SHATTER with a HYDRO-TUBE and a EVO I'm worthless.

I still keep a pen full and hit on it during the day.

My two rip sessions with a EVO are tasty regardless!

I just got some wax , shatter last night , so hard to come by around my neck of the woods , only once every few months but I was able to get my hands on some nice stuff my cousin got me as a favor & excited to try it in the Evo tonight. The times I can get it easy it is so expensive , at around $70-$80 a gram , this was $50 a g . I dunno what this stuff goes for , I like it though , very potent and kinda happy I can't get it so easy bc I'd be messing my tolerance up I like it so much.

I had commented earlier that the product pages for all of the different purchase options on the VapeExhale website had a caution: Do NOT use the EVO inverted. I contacted them through their web chat and was told that the warning was meant for people not to leave the unit on top of their glass piece through a session. It was ok to hit it inverted and then remove from the glass.

On the topic of concentrates, I'm considering making my first concentrate purchase at my local dispensary--I've strictly been a flower guy for six years, but obviously the Evo has made me very curious about expanding my tastes.

Right now I'm debating between BHO (wax, shatter, etc) and rosin. If I'm looking for the closest experience to a "flower high", what should I choose? I've read that rosin doesn't contain additives like CO2, so that's always attractive...

I was all COLAS without seeds in the 70's in the 10's I got into CONCENTRATES because the display case would be full {Bottom; Middle; Top} shelf. Top Shelf SHATTER was $100/grams.
So I learned how to make it. Vacuum Purge was the ticket and respecting heat values.
However I got 4 grams for $50 and not as pretty as mine. To my surprise the FLAVOR/EFFECT is all time. So it has gotten so cheap I just buy it now!

The FLOWER are so good in their raw form I love them.
CONCENTRATES are a processed version of the trim after harvest. (left overs)

I waste more than most however I consume both I now prefere COLAS to anything else.

If a BUD TENDER fills a jar with little buds I walk out because their hackers.

The little buds are create from a lack of light and are found under the canopy!
Then their is the classification of FLOWERS?
If you cross a SATIVA with a INDICA it becomes a HYBRID.
Now their are BARNEY'S that do not label their strains correctly?
That will make you grow your own.
The monetary gain is not the reason.

We need regulation for the abuses or just grow and make your own concentrates?

EVO brings out the FLAVOR of a well grown CANNABIS plant.

Once it becomes legal the quality will even get better!

Man....I really want the EVO. I want to enjoy the best of the best! I just hope it lives up to all this hype!? Currently I use my Mighty during the day and nite time my U.D Big Dog (no vvps) with bent neck honeycomb perc. While they both defenitley get the job done I just can't help but wonder..... If I don't have an EVO am I settling for less than the best?!?

Biggest problem with the Cloud EVO is the taste is amazing, and the ELBs keep getting filled. Just want to keep hitting it and milking some glass.

It depends on your needs?

I use the EVO as a driver because it works perfect for where I am now.

My Driver is a EVO.
Having said that I rotate my other ones still and love them.

Basically I vape more!

That's a good thing!

I am no thermodynamic engineer, but I did vape some Strawberry Cough.

I think I figured something out. When my EVO went all blinky on me it was REAL hot. 1+1= Blinky is for too hot. I guess there is a fine-print warning to not leave EVO inverted for long periods of time. Mine was inverted when it went hot/blinky.

There are slots in the top. Heat rises. When inverted there are no slots above the heat source to allow venting of this heat. Duh.
