My bad @pakalolo will edit.

Didn't mean to sound so condescending. Ment to say trolling and "mature" and not "grow up" didn't edit it out right. Was trying to put a lot of thoughts down with a phone.

And sorry to @steama too, really didn't come out how I wanted it.

It takes me a long time to finish posts :(

Ok edited, think I got everything. Please let me know I missed anything.

That's better, but as a general principle—and this applies to everyone—unless you are being complimentary, commenting on another member's character is always shaky ground. If you must make them, such comments belong in a PM.

The current supply of wire harnesses is at a rate of 5 -10 per week and will gate the shipments of the last of the first 50 units. The 200 units are in the hands of a local wood worker to have the doors, cover and cap machined so that they are ready after the first 50 are completed.

This is exciting stuff. To add to my earlier comments about how cool it is to have someone half way around the world hand craft me an item, possibly as I type this..., it's also fun to speculate on whether (considering my aug/sept purchase) i will receive one of the latter of the first 50 'RBT units' or one of the earlier (i assume) 200 production units.

I am not fussed which, as these are all individualized units anyway and i assume both will have their benefits (numbered first run vs slightly tweaked based on first run feedback...hand crafted by the creater vs more polished by a skilled woodworker etc, possibly...not suggesting that @RBT is not a skilled woodworker...
Hmmm, maybe i will shut up now)

Actually, I don't think the bodies and polish will differ much... The first 50 were also industrially cut and everything - forgot the machines name.. There were videos showing it, very impressive.
IIRC the "newer" bodies are slightly smaller/different around somewhere.. Don't remember when it was posted, been a while. But this could also been related to the a part of the first batch, maybe already implemented.
I'm sure someone can chime in here! :)

But I too would love to have my Z made by the creator himself...:D
Hope my chances are good, early Aug. :brow:

Have a great day everyone, keep the Zion train runnnnninng! :peace:

It was the HAAS! My stepdad assembles and field tests and helps redesign these machines. They are incredible in what they can do, but the effort required is only worthy if used for mass production. Good thing RBT is an evil genius with what seems like a very thought out devious plan to disrupt the vaporizer market.

Oh yeah...here's a link to the beautiful impressive machine!
Zion vaporizer Not sure why is says Zion Vaporizer but click on it and you will go directly to the HAAS post from RBT

Well, it has been exactly one month since my pre-order. I ordered with only having read a few pages of the zion page over the course of its development...but nothing more.
Since ordering, I have officially read every page of this thread. If you've posted, I've read it. I have about 30+ bookmarks of interesting points, milestones, SCIENCE, etc. that I've gathered throughout my reading. Quite a journey this vape has been on.

After reading the thread, I happily stand by my purchase.

If you haven't read this thread, I highly recommend it. Reading a year of progress in a few weeks is pretty intense! I feel like I was along for the entire journey.

Completely agree.

I like to leave it a few weeks and then 'catch up'. It's like reading a chapter of a book.

Speaking of which, i wonder what's happening over in milaana land

While I do wonder how the milaana project is going I am more concerned with that third Zion unit that RBT has to dig into. Last I recall he was still waiting to recieve it, I'm hoping that it makes its way to him soon so that we can resume deployment of that powerhouse!

Much love folks, would love to see some more vape porn from owners with their units in the wild!

@virtualpurple the 3rd unit was sent back to the Motherland on 2/25. I would like to think that the autopsy has already been performed, as I miss my #18 very badly......Good vibes to my fellow Zionites!
So the three of us are waiting patiently or not for our Zions. Is it accurate that none of the later ones will go out until these 3 are fixed and returned?

From RBT's website:

Progress Update 02-27-2016

Zion Update

The two units with voltage control knob failures have been repaired and are in test. These units will be shipped the week of 3/1. The third failed unit has shipped but not yet arrived. Once unit three is received and the root cause of it's failure is understood and corrected, Zion shipments will resume.

He missed the week of 3/1 for return. Maybe week of March 7. My birthday is this month. It would be a nice present to get mine back.

Well, you are in luck. The third unit arrived this past week and has been root caused to be a broken solder joint on the heater ground wire to the P-FET (reverse polarity protection circuit) so Zion shipments will resume this coming week. There is a page on the www that outlines the failure analysis.

My apologies for the perceived delay in issuing refunds as one was bumping against the 10 day limit stated on the refund form. I have spent every waking moment in the last two weeks up at the new factory to ensure start-up goes as planned. Moving forward I will make every attempt to keep it within 5 business days. Again, sorry to anyone that experienced any hardship from the delay.

I was somewhat surprised that there are some folks unhappy with my communication. Please keep in mind that I post here but I no longer participate. WWW.RastaBuddhaTao is my official means of communication. Since setting up the detailed FAQ and accompanying contact forms months ago I have responded to every inquiry and have recently added a dedicated form for existing customers. All of my interactions with the initial customers as well as via forms submitted through my official means of communications has been amazing. Everyone has been understanding of the slow downs and delays and lack of communication as work is underway to setup the factory and retail network required to become a sustainable manufacturerand it is a daunting and time consuming task.

It's kind of funny... Avitars here seem to color me a bad guy, and my customers using my official means of communication see me as the inventor of a new technology that they adore... I guess that is now the dichotomy of RBT/FC.

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
Ehmm.. there is no dichotomy at all, you can invent something adorable and be a bad guy too..

One aspect does not exclude the other, it is even quite common to be so proud of one idea/project and become a very annoying person

Not saying you are, only that you could have shaved without making a show of it :-)

'Mwaaaa ha ha ha!!! Come to Daddy!'

Ha ha ha!

You evil bastard!

You look ready to give a Sunday sermon.

Love it.

Wicked news on the Zion front too. Let the face melt roll-out resume! :freak:

And a new dedicated existing customer contact form on the RBT website? That is awesome - an accessible & official channel for current customers to reach you. Perfect. You hear that guys? No repeat questions though eh! Lol.

And the material safety info in the design FAQ is reassuring too - glue or mica concerns anyone . . . ?
Is there adhesive in the Zion?

Yes, high temperature low off-gassing two part epoxy is used to attach the the rim of the heater glass to the wood. This is the coolest part of the Zion and rarely reaches over 150 degrees F which is well below the limit of the epoxy. Issues with adhesives and plastics are usually encountered when they are used outside of there temperature range. The adhesive is not part of the primary flow path but small amounts of air will pass by any adhesive gaps and enter the air stream if the inlet hole is blocked.

Is there Mica in the Zion?

Yes, there are mica insulators in the heater that keep the heater insulated from the glass allowing for rapid heat-up and greater efficiency. The mica has a large factor of safety over the maximum temperatures created by the Zion heater even in extreme use at high temperatures.

Hee hee hee . . . er, I think RBT is just (s)having a bit of fun! No need for slights.

:)

Enjoy your roasts, folks.

You've basically forced us to give you a point with your phrasing. This could have been said without the name calling.
Waking up to that ultimate update from Ryan made me both proud of him and sad about this community.

I'm proud because few people realize what he's going through and the awesome work he managed to pull, from hand-crafted prototype iterations to setting up a plant with a production line, and connecting a web of retailers to distribute his babies. I'm a business owner myself, co-founded and started my company from scratch, so I'm more than aware of the sheer amount of involvment and hard work required, whatever your market is and what your ambitions are.

I will not congratulate Ryan here simply because I'm not sure he will ever come back to read it. He told us his intention to quit this forum because he grew tired of the constant drama and how rude some people can be everytime he posts any update. I for one think that many members act like spoiled little brats, I expressed it already in the past and I don't care if I get a warning point because it's against the forum rules. It's unfortunately not the first time at all that we get the chance to have a manufacturer on board and that our collective behaviour make them leave. Those that have been around for some time will know the threads I'm implicitely refering to...

I'm sad because if he really quits it would be a loss for us all. The Zion was for a good part crowdsourced by our feedback and interaction. The cult emerged because many of us became personally involved in the process and it created bonds. It was a great adventure and what I loved about this community. Don't let a few black sheeps ruin the whole show.

Just had a very dab like hit from flowers.
Started with a perfect sized nugget.
Pulled and rotated nugget a few times.
Broke up nug on fifth hit, and bingo!

Been using a male to male with j-hook at home, with great results.
I tried my vapexhale dry mouthpiece, and didn't like it. Too much airflow for me.
I always find it nice to come back to the regular sized stem tho.
I think I prefer feeling, and tasting the vapor from a shorter path maybe?
