In the beginning the wood has a very earthy taste. Eventually it takes on the flavor of the cannabis you are using. I enjoy an all glass air path but I like wood too. It doesn't break:lol: perfect if you are working out side in the yard. I use mine with my Solo a lot.

The 3 inch WonG that I have works for a water tool as well as a mouthpiece. I've posted pics, it's a Blackwood piece with a turquoise inlay.

Edit
I have a nice whip set up that works for the Solo as well as the Air. I had Ed make a wooden GonG end and a mouthpiece made with Bloodwood. The tubing was from the Herbalizer. It turned out awesome. The whip does have that vapor smell.

ty for the information i have a arizer air but recently I bought a new water pipe so in different atmosphere. the tube is 14 mm so is that good for a shorty piece for a 14mm air gong?

The standard glass mouthpiece with the black plastic tip is 14mm. Should just slide right in! To milk it up grind up fine and turn it straight to red! Will milk and kill the bowl in a couple hits, but it reminds me a lot of the old combustion days. usually that's what I do when my friends try to bash vaping. After 2-3 bowls they praise the air and are mind blown haha

Unfortunately, the unit I can buy doesn't have a receipt, warranty info or anything but a serial number. The seller bought it used a few weeks ago.

Would I be better off spending ~$200 on a different vape (and glass)?

While Puffitup offers GREAT service and prices, for a USA resident it is about $25 cheaper to buy from Planetvape.ca. Plus the PV deal comes with an additional FREE battery.

What is this PV deal? the Air shows as 199 for me on planetvape.ca while it is 169 on puffitup.
Also, they don't have black in stock

If you get the code from the Planetvape thread (in PV signature) you can buy an Air including free Battery and free shipping for $199 CaD or about $147 US dollars.

$147 USD (including FREE battery) vs. $169.

i never tired a wood do they have a good flavor?
Flavor is fine but most importantly it is durable.

I would go new.

I'm a little torn on which of these I should get. They all fall around the same price point but each have small differences.

I've heard some people mention the FC Diffusion styles but I'm unsure exactly how/why they're any better?

Well folks,

Been a while since I posted here. My apologies. Haven't kept up with the latest discussion sorry.

So here's the deal, almost 2 years (or so, foggy memory, have to research) of purchasing my authentic Arizer Air ... it stopped working.

Found the culprit, the grounding (springed) pin that connects to the base of the battery cover....isn't springing out anymore.

Any suggestions before I unscrew this little screw and see what lies within ?

I think someone just had this same problem possibly a few changes back , take a read through although I am sure someone will chime in about it shortly .

IDK, but obviously you've gotta watch it on that site, eh? I was wary of the Chinese glass so I got a piece on sale at grasscity.com. I don't see any real good deals on there right now... but when they get down to like 3-5 units left on a piece they go on sale.

If you don't already have gong stems I would lean 14 over 18mm and just use the stock plastic tip. That'll save another 25-30 bux that can then be allocated to your piece of choice.

Hi there guys!

Big fan of the Air. Would like to open it up fully to thoroughly clean the insides for a border crossing, has there been any documenting of the process thus far? I'm opening up this unit in any case, wouldn't mind reading about the process beforehand though.

Best avoided. All you can remove is the top grill and the bottom battery cap.
Things get very fiddly any further than that.
@OF Has taken one apart, if you really want to do it he will let yuo know if its even feasible.

If I were you I would just unscrew the top and give that a clean out, I took it off for the first time recently after a year of use and there was a bit of a build up of ABV.

Listen to LH, I've pulled one apart a fair bit (and reported as much here, you might search?). Not only do you damage the area around the buttons (the bezel is glued on after the unit is assembled) but you can't truly clean all the areas enough to avoid detection. They could simply rinse the bottom of the oven (below the SS cup) with ISO and analyze that. They need a tiny amount, less that you can see or smell, to find chemically. Even if you could completely disassemble that area, I don't think you can really get it clean enough since things like the furnace cement will have absorbed vapor.

No, make that 'I've pulled apart a couple'. Want to guess what happened to the second one? Clue, that's how I know you can break the keyboard area......and I had the experience of getting the first apart without damage.

My guess is you'll actually break your unit (either in the keyboard area of the heater leads.....or both) even getting close enough to see you have no hope. Want to see what you're up against? Notice the upper switch:

How's your supply of Kapton tape to replace the carefully laid pieces (I have some, do you?). If you pull the oven down for cleaning you'll have to replace all that too of course. I'm 2 for 3 (and I think I know what I'm doing and what to expect) and have a dead Air to show for the education.

I advise dropping the idea.

Rather I suggest getting a new vape for the trip and abandoning it. You can get an excellent option, the Aura, from PIU for under sixty bucks. For half that the Hebe is, I think, a good candidate:
http://www.hebestars.com/product/hebe-titan-2/

Both prices are shipped to US customers. I have personally bought both from those vendors and can recommend them. The Hebe (and it's 'twin' the Titan II) can be bought many places, including China for cheaper, but sometimes guys have not been happy with what they got. I can't speak to that of course, but believe both are cost effective, safe and sure alternatives to taking a contaminated vape through customs, especially where extra attention is possible.

DynaCap is also a potential I think, at $30. Or maybe a nice VG but either of those would involve learning the use (needing a second 'clean' unit in at least some cases).

Good luck with it, but I'd go through 'clean and new' rather than 'I hope they don't find anything...'.

Thanks so much for that picture! Will indeed help me start getting this thing spik 'n span again. There is a fair amount of ABV stuck on the innards where there is tape, so that's why I figured it necessary to venture deeper. My supply of Kaptan is ample, I have multiple thickness' to choose from. Did you try heating the bezel before prying it off? Have already ordered a VAPCAP but it hasn't arrived yet...

Appreciate your concern with my potentially destructive investigations, nevertheless I can assure you that my tooling is vast an sophisticated enough to handle this endeavour! Flown a handful of times with Flowermates thus far, hence my getting the hang of teardown procedures - much prefer this Arizer as I will be sampling some fantastic herbs.

I FRIKKIN' DIG THIS FORUM!

You need to be careful using shatter. Sandwich the shatter in between the cannabis. You don't want to clog up the air holes at the base of the oven. I've used shatter in the Solo more. I think using the Air "hamster style" with a bubbler with flower and shatter works well or with a j hook. Then you won't have concentrate going down into the holes at the base of the oven.

You can also wrap concentrates in cotton.
