This review says, "The underside of the faceplate is lined with a thin sheet of Gorilla Glass — once again, just like your cell phone — as is the top of the chassis. This creates a glass airpath when the faceplate is magnetically attached."

Is the top of the chassis really lined with a sheet of glass? I just assumed it was metal like the FF1, with the glass only on the underside of the lid. That is kickass if both sides of the vapor path are glass...

I didn't think so. Doesn't look like glass, and I don't think it was described as glass to me. (But then the lid sure doesn't look like glass, but is...) I can try to find out. (Nice catch, I didn't spot that in the review.)

You get big hits from the first draw. Though the second seems larger, the first is really nice. Big difference from FF1, IME.

Having to do full packs is not a problem with a unit like this. You might as well just pack it full no matter what because you don't have to do a full session. If you only want a few hits take a few hits and come back to it later. Also as was with the FF1 you could simply smack it on your hand to stir it.

TL;DR Instant on convection plus super easy stir makes having to do full packs a non issue. At least in my opinion.

Doesn't work so well w temp stepping tho - there's lower temp terpenes w mild-but-nice psychoactive effects that don't survive higher temps. If you just vape at one temp, then sure, it's not an issue.

No and No . I am hoping they have learned from the first one and improved . The plus side to this is firefly has some of the best customer service around and are very good about replacing units fast , at least that's my experience with them . I am hoping for the best with the FF2 I am disappointed with the 2 year warranty now , but I still preordered one , no different than my mighty . I wonder if s&b pricing and warranty had anything to do with there decisions. Since crafty is selling so well , maybe price it the same ? I really think these vapes are getting a little overpriced , but they make me happy and I still buy them :shrug:

My FF1s were not really reliable, but the customer service was good and I feel like they took enough of a beating fixing/exchanging multiple units for multiple users that they'll probably be eager not to make those mistakes again. If I were FF I'd be looking to make this generation hold up a whole lot better.

That's what I'm telling myself, at least..

I never thought the ff1 needed adjustable temps... or bluetooth.
The glass lining sounds nice though, as does the additional airflow.
I also agree that the styling was way better on the ff1.
Hopefully the ff2 will prove to be more consistently reliable from unit to unit :2c:

damn you guys got me worried now. already preordered. my arizer solo has been to hell and back a few times and shes still kickn.

guess thats the difference between made in china and made in canada.. actually starting to think about it 330 is high for a made in china vape..

damn i hope i dont regret this come may

I wouldn't worry about reliability, at least not yet. Most of the FF1 failures were related to coil issues and they seem to have solved it by the way the FF2 heater is designed...it's assembled with much stricter tolerances. (The core parts, including the plate and the heating coil, are USA made, but assembled in China.) The 1 for sure had the occasional "catastrophic failure" issue. I went through a few myself. :p

You also have the warranty so I wouldn't sweat it. They had every intention of making a more reliable and stable product in v.2. Based on my limited exposure to it I'm optimistic. :2c:

If you are happy with the quality of anything at all from Arizer, you will be blown away by the quality of firefly.

Thanks for kindly replying to my first post! I recognized the avatar, but you never know on the interwebs. For instance, I'm not actually a pig. :)

I've never attended any of his shows, but I enjoy his work. I dig intellectual absurdity (for lack of a better, less pompous sounding term). Monty Python comes to mind as a predecessor. Fuck-Shit Stack sits firmly in my top three song/video combos.

But yeah, I'm really looking forward to getting my FF2. I actually ordered on the evening of the 29th (I was surprised to see it available) with a delivery scheduled for April. Once it arrives I'm planning to ditch my desktop Vapor Brothers (which as served me well) and my MFLB (which I've never been terribly happy with *yes I know, likely pilot error*). Walks to the train after work are going to get a lot better.

Yes, the top of the chassis and the underside of the face plate are lined with glass, creating a (not all) glass air path.

Also, I didn't mention this in the review, but Firefly actually produces two components in the U.S. — the laser-drilled restrictor plate and the heating coil wire — and ships them to China.

I think I have read somewhere that the FF batteries would work but have no tab on them? I don't see a tab on the pics on the FF website can you elaborate on this Mitch, and do you know if the external charger/plug will still work on these new batteries?

Only diff I can see is new one is has more amp hours right?

Yes. Vapor quality and material choices are far higher in firefly products. I've warrantied 2 - 3 fireflies myself. Hoping this one is more reliable. Gut feeling says it has to be.
