If all vapes get you equally as high why buy an expensive one?

All vapes are not created equal. Kidding on that as it is obvious, but they definitely don't extract equally.

There is another thread that had an actual study done that showed measured extractions. Don't have it handy as posting from a cell.
I'm just hesitant to spend a lot of money on a vape because I'm not sure if ill like it. Are there any really cheap like $10 ones I could try? The Source 10CIG is $10 but I heard its more of a combustion device.

Yikes, I don't know of any that cheap but definitely can find very good ones from like $80-200. Portable and desktop alike.

There was a recent posting for a $20 vape that was reported as working well. It was a portable. Don't recall the name.

Maybe another on FC will chime in by the time I can find it.

There are no dry herb vapes that are that cheap but for $30 you can get a VapCap and it's a solid device if you don't mind having to use a torch lighter. Actually, I'd recommend it as a starter.

Nothing that's gonna get recommended here. The VapCap at around $30 however gets much love here. Uses a butane torch and is essentially a 1-hitter.

They don't, money aside. All vapes extract a bit differently and some methods are more costly to make while some are very cheap.

If you just want cheap how about a light bulb. There are several methods that involve using a light bulb. I don't recommend any of them. :2c:
Is it worth it to get a cheap one to try out or just go for something expensive?

Easy to use and clean, effective, cheap. Great entry level vape. I use mine more than my Haze, Summit, Arizer Air, Firewood, Solo, Hammer, Vapman and Pax. Your mileage may vary but I think others would agree that it's your best bet in the under $50 category.

Why is that one the best one to try?

I think he means that for only 30 bucks you can get an inexpensive but very capable vape in the vapcap. A good solid starter. I just picked up the upgraded woodie version and really like it.

If you like vaping then you can get into a desktop for constant, electric power. An e-nano for example.

The OP has had plenty of vapes recommended to him/her in this thread: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/best-portable-vaporizer.20849/

I think it boils down to if the device vaporizes, and does not combust, it will get you high.

HOWEVER
HOWEVER

1. Some devices are more efficient.
2. Some devices are more convenient
3. Some devices are more aesthetically pleasing.

Depending upon your priorities, the cost of your vape can increase accordingly.

Title says it.
I heard that the crafty gets more vapor from your herb than other vapes. . For me, I just want to enjoy my medicine without combustion. It is worth it IMO. I love the plant but what always turns me off is the unhealthy aspect of combusting the plant matter. Also, the highs always felt "cleaner" to me. At one point though, I preferred smoking.

Herb gardener...
The title is wrong, not all vapes get you equally high...

My flowermate gets me no where near the same level as my eq...

I can spend all day and much herb vaping in my flowermate, but it never gets me to the same point as 1 eq basket...

If you believe all vapes are equal then grab a light bulb and a lighter...

It's true there's no magic in vaporization, we've seen it in a vaporizer study recently (Volcano, Solo, Plenty, DaVinci, Butane). In table 2, we can see at about 98%(IIRC, or 96%) successfully evaporate the cannabinoids in the herb (at specified temp in the study and beside the Butane vape). Vaporizer with longer vapor path (thus more surface for condensation) are a bit less efficient (up to 20% less) but produce cooler vapor (which may help vaping at higher temp). The DaVinci was leaking vapor but it was the only vape to do so and it must be pretty rare among reputable vaporizers.

Even if the vapor (the cannabinoids) in most reputable vaporizer doesn't magically disappear or stay in the ABV, there's of course a lot of differences between vaporizers.

- How they work (ease of use, personal taste, how they maintain temp, etc)
- Size
- Price
- Customer service
- Convection vs Conduction vs Hybrid, Session (can lose vapor in the air/condensation) vs On-Demand
- Time to heat up at proper temperature
- Time to change temp
- Portability
- Reliability
- Solidity
- Battery usage
- Display providing information (temp, battery, etc)
- Ease of use with Glass
- Length of vapor path (for cool vapor)
- How safe is the vapor path
- Size of the bowl (large bowl for groups)
- Efficiency for small or large quantity of herb
- Cost of usage (cost of buying new batteries, new bags, broken glass, etc)
- Etc, etc.

Of course every company will tell you they have the best vaporizer in the world. That's marketing. But in reality all the reliable vaporizers have many happy customers (we can see it at FC) and do a similar job at getting your herb at the proper temp so they can vaporize. There's no magic (you just need to follow the vapor/cannabinoids). The way they do it is vastly different from one another. There's no such thing as best vaporizer, it's a matter of personal taste. Choose one you can see yourself using.

NO SMOKING
Although it's more than $10; the MFLB is a good starter vape.

I understand you don't want to spend loads of money incase it's not for you. But assuming you do not smoke tobacco; I would say that you will appreciate the amazing flavour and health benefits from vaping.

If you like smoking weed, you will LOVE vaping weed.

Maybe buy a 2nd hand vape

I will say though, I started off vaping with a cheap Chinese conduction dome vape, and it very nearly put me of vaping all together...

While trying to make it more efficient I stumbled across fc, then the eq thread, and the rest is history...

I was lucky to find fc to point me in the right direction or I may have just thought vaping isn't for me.....

Buying a cheap vape may not give you a true insight to the vapour world....

A Prius, a Ferrari, and a Rolls Royce all get you from point to A to point B. That doesn't mean they're all the same.

A pocket portable won't give you the huge, smooth hit that you can get from something like the EVO, or even a much less expensive big hitter like the SSV, but that doesn't mean the portable is a lesser vape, just different. Spending more $ can get you better temp control, better quality components, more features, a better warranty, etc.

if you want strictly lowest price point vape thats is worth it i also say VapCap! I've spent the money on the "good" ones like others and i favor my VapCap most of all. i have a custom woodie but the OG model is inexpensive, nothing is cheap about the VapCap. It is a quality vape that can't be beat for 30 bucks. After you get an OG I'll guarantee you'll want to customize your VC. @Zacadea
