I'm too inexperienced to offer any real help here, but:
If you are getting clouds, but no effect, then presumably your actives have been destroyed during your process.
If your vaping equipment is producing enough heat to vape clouds, then I'd say it's safe to assume that it's getting hot enough to decarb your product.
So my guess (in this case)would be that something like too much heat when boiling of the ethyl might be the issue.
This is very much a guess from an inexperienced enthusiast though, so BIG pinch of salt here!

If you're not getting clouds, then all bets are off, as it could be your liquid, OR your vape tool.

I'm sure others will heve better advice
Thank you

Have spent the past several weeks reading through the forum, particularly through this and the advanced mega threads...

I recently purchased a bottle of vanilla Vapeur Extract and was absolutely disgusted with the taste. Is it because I selected vanilla instead of unflavored? Most of what I read online pointed to Vapeur Extract tasting much better than EJ Mix, which I haven't tried. So, if VE is better tasting than EJ, I can't even imagine how bad the EJ tastes.

I tried twice with the VE. Both times with 0.5g of high quality PX (Pure Xtracts) wax and about 20-30 drops of VE. It produced a nice looking, perfect viscosity liquid that just about filled my 2.5mL eGo One tank.

The taste was so bad, I threw both away - total waste of 1g of beautiful wax.

I have CC the Solution NorCal sample pack scheduled to be delivered today. What is the general consensus around here regarding this product (quality, taste, etc)? How about with regards to safety - I mean we have no idea what's in this stuff?

I looked at this from their company, but it didn't inspire a whole lot of confidence (the assessment is based on documents received from CC, not actual testing of the solution): http://www.mrextractor.com/solution/formula-documentation/

I'm hoping to hear from real people here regarding their experiences with this product. Please share.

I've seen some of you post that you mix both, either EJ or VE, with CC. What is the purpose of mixing more than one solution with the concentrate?

Thanks in advance.

So I gave this a go and I am not a fan at all. Used EJ mix in a kanger subtank, around a 0.7 coil. I gradually raised the wattage until I got vapour but the taste was horrible by this point.

I think I may be one of those who tastes plastic... It's so bad it's going down the drain when I finish typing this. So thankful I only used a half gram and that I managed to force enough down for it to not be too much of a waste haha.

Vapour production is really low also but I'm used to high VG juices so that may be a factor.

You have to try these things I guess.

@waxdab23 I find that the CC works better with the burners that come with the norcal pack. I mixed at .3g concentrate to .2g CC and it's way better than Vapeur Extracts. Used the double boiler method keeping temp at around 150-160f works best.

Decarbing the oil serves two important purposes IMO......

First, it burns off ANY residual solvents such as butane and ethynol. Secondly, although it is difficult to quantify, it enhances the effect. Vape pens simply do not get hot enough IMO to decarb ALL of the vapor they produce ..... unlike putting a flame to flowers does. The drawback of course to decarbing is you lose about 15% of the product and you will boil off some terps resulting in some flavor loss. All I can tell you is we initially never decarbed oil prior to going into the pens but a few years back we tried it and have decarbed ever since. We feel it is very justified. Just gotta be careful decarbing ............ you'll need an oil bath to get it hot enough and if you're not careful, you'll take it too far and turn the oil into a sedative if you're not watching it closely. You don't need to take it all the way to full decarb by the way ..... take it up to 70% and pull it from the heat. That's good enough. One final thing to note ........ a decarbed oil will be less viscous and because of that will require less diluent add back to make it perform in a pen.

Ive been lurking this thread for a while and finally decided to order some puff majic to give it a try after being interested in making some sort of liquid myself. Im very impressed with how it worked and really couldn't be happier. I started with a very small amount maybe .25g shatter and ended up with just over 1ml after adding puff majic and its working great. I'm using my nautilus mini. I was wondering if anyones had success adding regular flavored eliquid to the mix for added flavor? I've been vaping nic eliquid for a while and like the heavy flavors i have (strawberry milkshake, cereal milk etc..) and would love to incorporate any of those into my puff majic mix but don't wanna ruin what I've just made since its working perfectly as is.

Isn't Puff Magic simply a PG/VG mix? If so just make sure you use a flavor based PG/VG mix and as an example, if you decide to add 15% of flavor just back off the same amount of the Puff Magic on your next batch.

I actually just mixed a very small amount but it seemed to mix easily. .2g purple champagne shatter with 15drops pm 12 drops cuttwood bird brains eliquid (fruity cereal milk). Hopefully it tastes as good as it smells.

I just wonder if setting volts is important. I vape right now at like 3.4W, but clouds aren't that big even if I take puff longer than 10 secs. I'm using evic mini, and chineese cartridges a la o.pen.

@macbill
Maybe you could help me solve the problem?

Cheers!

Hmmm

As I understand it, voltage on its own is kinda meaningless, the power is more relevant as it takes resistance into account. The same voltage applied to two circuits with different resistances will produce two different currents:
Ohm's law states Voltage = Amps*Resistance (V=I*R)
Watts = Volts*Amps (W = V*I)
So W = (I^2)*R

Uh, I've lost track of my original point (I really shouldn't be FC'ing and working at the same time) but to your question @caro-line setting volts IS important but it might make more sense to consider wattage.

Can anyone validate that?

Thanks for clearing that up, but I'm afraid you are talking to a complete electrical idiot. It's all magic, if you ask me.

Arghh, seems that those carts are just that bad. Changing voltage settings doesn't change anything at all. They got hot fast, and make really small clouds. mPT3 works fine, but the capacity is too large for me.
I just wonder if glass atomizers a la: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Hemp-oil-cbd-vape-vaporizer-glass_60356209356.html could be a little bit more reliable.

Does anyone know where I can get them from non-Chinese vendors?

Try searching "TORS90 cartridge". I'm sure there are a few US suppliers of this atomizer. They are not very good though ......... they leak. But worth a try perhaps.

Someone posted a Voltage and Watts chart somewhere on here but I can't find it now. Anyone else seen this?

I'm sorry, but I have 2 silly questions. Again. Would be great if you help me. Again!
I'm really tired of those carts, but I'm still fighting! Don't know why they are so problematic for me.
So..
Do you store your carts for few days after filling them? I mean, do they need some more time to soak fully the wick?
Do I have to get cartridge filled above the wick to work properly? Capacity of my carts is .5ml, and I always fill them like .2, .3.

Cheers!

I'm not having problems. But I have a very strong solution - practically 1:1 (concentrate:thinner solution). Thinking about it, with my o.pen carts, I really don't want clouds and clouds, because, for me, that would be too large a hit of concentrate. I take small inconspicuous hits wherever I go.

Does your solution act like a liquid in your cart? Can you, for example, turn the cart upside down and and the solution flow as if it were slightly warm honey? Mine does to begin with, and it seems to saturate the wick from the get-go. Additionally, I understand a person can give the cart a couple dry hits to help pull in solution. I don't really know if that is true, but I made it up on the Internet, so there's that for its veracity.

Have you considered heating your o.pen cart with your hair dryer to get things flowing, so to speak? I do that at the end of a cart. It seems to me, by the time your at the end, the solution is not so flow-able, but to answer your question, I work the cartridge until I get a good amount out so try the hairdryer on small carts just to get it going: saturate the cotton by melting. You don't have to cook it.

My liquid is thin, it flows around the cart without any problems with ratio 1:2. But next time I'll try 1:1.7 ratio.
Yesterday I filled one of them, and let it be overnight. The cartridge was almost full, but next day I got like a little bit less than half. I thought it was because of wick. Soaking and stuff...But then I noticed that they leak from little air holes at the bottom. I checked 3 carts with regular e-cig liquid to see if that was just a disposable defect. One of three leaked. Seems I made bussiness with some bad Chinese factory.

@macbill
Do you cough after each puff? I don't know why, but I do. I use EJmix, but I think that might be because of higher THC percentage.

Cheers!

I tried making some pg/vg mix in a slow cooker with a large amount of abv. Threw it in some vape pens and even a mod. It was not so strong and took about 20 hits for a small buzz. I don't mind it was my 1st experiment. So i have a question for a few experts , Can i take some oil/reclaim that has built up in a few of my vapes and dissolve that into my eliquid i use every day and feel some sort of effect ?

How would i go about just dissolving some reclaim into my everyday eliquid

I'm not knowledgeable of nic solutions. The problem is resin/reclaim/hash oil/THC does not dissolve in water-based solutions. EJMix is one of many commercial dilutants available. It suspends the oil evenly in a solution so that it vapes in a cartimizer easily.

I see others have also turned to using subohm devices for e-cannabis. I have done my share worth of testing. I finally found 2 devices that I like that accommodate both e-cannabis and e-cigg use. I am not into sub ohm vaping for my e-ciggs, but I am when it comes to e-cannabis.

The devices I like most are the KangerTech subbox nano with the subtank nano and the new toptank mini. The toptank mini, toptank nano, and subtank nano all work great, no leaking or flooding. The new topbox mini (75 watt platimum and the original 60 watt platinum) are awesome! For e-cannabis I only use the 0.5 ohm OCC vertical coil. For e-ciggs I am happy with the 1.5 ohm OCC, you do have to break it in a bit to get rid of the burnt taste, but it is worth it. The 0.5 ohm coil is the only one that is satisfying with e-cannabis. With my mixture super thick, with just a touch of kosher PG/USP, the draws were so potent I blew my back out coughing. Very little vapor on the exhale, but damn! super potent.

Just a word of warning, the bottom fill subtank mini is junk, lots of problems.

These 2 units, the nano and new topbox mini can do it all. That is a must for me and I bought extras of each. They can handle PEG400, for BHO type concentrates that do not mix well with PG/USP, of course you will want to add flavoring when using PEG. I am fully satisfied, the search is over for me. These devices do it all, e-cigg vaping and e-cannabis sub ohm vaping.

It would be difficult to choose which I like better. I only like the vertical coils when it comes to reliability.

Since I have purchased these devices, for the first time I have been able to vape with 100% VG when it comes to my e-cigg oils. I still use PG/USP with my e-cannabis oils.

Not possible ........... pens simply cannot approach the rate of vaporization compared to a flame source. Think of a pen .... any pen for that matter along the lines of a soldering iron compared to a lit match.

Sorry fella, you are greatly mistaken, I have done it with several types of e-cigg vapes. My mixture was perfect, my concentrate was potent.

Don't knock it till you try it with good stuff, and the right vape and coil.
