Discontinued Elevape SV

Hey guys,
I recently had a fail on one of my esv's ,sent it in to Joe and he told me it was my battery. I told him it was a new esv I had but I hadn't used it when I first got it so it sat in the box for maybe 3 months. It did work for a few weeks before it died. Had to pay 38 bucks for a new battery pack . Joe said since I didn't use it for awhile that they had to replace the battery. Does this sound right with a brand new esv? Seems to work good now, so I make sure to keep it plugged in to a charger after every use now. Since it has a trickle charge I don't have to worry about over charging according to Joe.

On another note and I know maybe off topic but same manufacturer, anybody have the elevape 2.0 pen vape? I bought one on sale thinking it would be the same quality as the esv. This thing doesn't really produce a lot of vapor,wispy ones at the most and the taste is horrible. I searched these forums and couldn't find anything on it. Reached out to Joe for advice but no response. Anybody have experience wish this vape? Kinda bummed with this purchase right now.

Those type of pens never really vape. They are basically electric combusting pens. That is why you won't really find much info about them here. You may have better luck using it for wax or liquid. If you decide you want to end up selling it, please pm me. I have been considering buying a 510 battery with an LED screen for my CO2 liquids so I know battery level and how many hits I get from a cart. Perhaps I can help you recoup some of what it cost you.

So I got my ESV today.

It was filthy, as you can see below! And smelled like an ashtray. I always make an effort when I sell stuff on fleabay, some don't!

I took it apart to clean as per the instructions. It looks like something is missing here- is it?

Nope, you're good. Mine is the exact same way.

Actually something is missing from the otherside. There should be a rubber cover over the magnet just like the one you circled. No worries though. You will be fine without it. I ripped mine off as I found it easier to clean without.

Hi guys, I'm tempted to get a used ESV to tide me over until one of the vapes I have pre-ordered arrives (could be months!).
The only vape I have right now is the Inhalater 05, and I'm wondering if the ESV is enough of a step up to make the purchase worth while?
I note that you have a INH05 @PPN , how would you compare them?

I love my ESV - great little magic black box. Instant super flavorful all convection hits...never had such smooooth hits without water.. This is an absolute USP to me... you sure wanna try this one. Don't have a INH - so I can't compare.

Is there any news about the new esv/indica2? Is it true they work together?

As far as I know, there's been no official announcement. However, if you look at the picture of the O2 that is posted in this thread, it'll become obvious that some form of collaboration, licensing or sale has or is taking place.

I'm thinking that unless there's a significant increase in vape time per charge, I'll pass on the new device. I'm happy with mine as is, now that I seem to have it dialed in. Of course, that's subject to a successful repair, as it's in San Marcos at the moment. I dropped it and broke the USB port, and it hasn't been right since. I believe it is going to receive new electronics and batteries, so it should be 100% functional again. Joe is the MAN!

I've been hating on the ESV for 6-8 weeks. Despite my best efforts, I could not keep the LED lit for more than a second or two. Joe looked at a picture and decided I needed a new coil. At the same time, he offered to send me a couple mouthpiece gaskets because I had mentioned the mouthpiece was very wobbly.

My package arrived today. Unfortunately, I soon learned one of the chitlins had absconded with my mini-screwdriver kit, so I can't replace the coil. I decided to change the gasket while I waited. Boom! Suddenly I can keep the LED lit and I'm getting vapor again. The gasket took Flopsy to Firm Freddie and I'm back in business.

Having said that, my load is now cooking unevenly for the first time. So, Joe is most assuredly correct that I should replace my coil. I look forward to replacing it when I find my tools. Until then, that new gasket has changed everything.

My point? If you're having trouble keeping that LED glowing:
1. Contact Joe
2. Consider replacing that gasket first

I just think you don't have your ESV tuned to it's peak performance then. I got a couple other heavy hitters in my arsenal and we have seen the constant comparison of the Zion and the Daisy. My ESV had all my vapes on the shelf all last week because it is just as effective as my Daisy and even quicker!

It really makes me wonder if the O2 will be a huge game changer when it comes out because what I am gathering throughout the portable section of this forum is that every vape is trying to be what this vape is. Vapes like Zion/SUB and Grasshopper and the Daisy/Lily are intuitive designs that came more than a year after the ESV was designed and engineered. All I can hope is the O2 will be ahead of its time like the ESV.

Don't get me wrong, ESV is still very powerful and efficient, an incredible vape imo that I will never sell (unlike some other recent sales) but I've used it very heavily for very long, overall it is just not as simple to use as the others in my experience, a bit more involved despite its many benefits, and ultimately less effective for me personally in comparison, not that it's incapable, just not as useful to me now

Agreed, equally curious to see how the O2 dials things in even more, as a lot of the design seems it will be the same, but more honed in for consistency and ease of use...

Spot on. Still trying to get mine fine tuned, as a matter of fact. Love the form factor and the modularity of it. Just wish it would give me a bit more in the way of clouds. I know, I know - stop chasing them. But what Daisy gives me is what I'd LOVE from the ESV. It's there, I'm sure, I just need to tweak it some to get there....

Hi Farkas,

I am on the opposite side of the spectrum. I took a trip to meet Joe awhile back and after he tuned it, it spits out monster clouds, which is nice, but I miss those flavorful first draws.

Exactly, that is what I love about the Elevape, I don't really want to crank it up personally, I can ride a bowl to decent completion at 305 as the taste, effects, and clouds are plenti/wonderful

Hey mixchu69. Good to hear yours is dialed in. I contemplated boxing it up to send back for Joe to take a look at, but I think I can get there if I fiddle with it some more. My low temp is at 320 and I do get some decent clouds with very good flavor, but I know there's more to be had. I'll get there eventually.

Are you already surfin the lowest temp end?

To work properly the elevape needs the better flowers and a bit of moisture, with lower grade I always got black and green abv and taste is killed after 1/2 hits.

I stopped to use concentrates with it, too messy and since it already need a lot of cleaning I don't want to add more work.

If the O² offer the same vapor quality and taste without stirring it will be enough for me, I'm a lazy guy..!

I'm a happy camper now; My ESV came back from the hospital a couple of days ago, and it's working just fine thus far.

I had a bit of a rough experience with the repair, as it wasn't working the first time it came back. Joe took care of me though, so no complaints. Shit happens, ya know.

It did motivate me to purchase a VapCap though, as it became obvious I need a backup portable.

I sent back my ESV and replaced it with my latest purchases.
I really liked the idea that's behind the vape, but I'm in the wrong moment of my life to experience this thing now
(if ever).
Too time consuming for me now, even if ESV was maybe the closest to my best vaporizer: a timeless durable tool, you can tinker it by yourself (a little too much is required, dust falling from the bowl on the opticals is a design flaw imho), ONE HITTER, one of the few that's not a session vape, the less smelly unit there is, it's very tiny, the list can go on.
I really anticipate the O2 an I hope it will be a useful tool as the ESV and Indica were, with a lot less flaws.
Hope they had the same money and engineering power S&B has, lol.

All I can say is thank God for this thread. I'd have probably chucked it out the window without all the invaluable info on here.

So I cleaned up my 2nd hand ESV which absolutely reeked of smoke. Changed all the screens and ISO soaked the parts I could then scrubbed it clean. Much better!

First attempts were pretty dire, hardly any clouds, although I was still pretty high! I read back over the thread and took it apart again to look at the heater. it was bent down from the cleaning so I put it back in place.

Now it worked properly. Nice, but not massive clouds. But very good effect. One bowl got me nicely stoned, although I found the bowl to be a bit small. I'm only getting combustion on the absolute max temp so it could probably sit a bit closer to the chamber, but I'm finding it works quite well like this so far.

The vapour cooling deserves special mention, it's up there with the Mighty. Never felt too harsh or hot even on high temps. Taste is fantastic too. My mate reckons it's the best taste out of all my vapes! I think it's not far off the MiniVap.

It's tiny, discreet and I love the always on aspect.

However-

It needs a lot of stirring- and using a metal stirrer is a pain in the arse because of the magnets. I really need one of those stir-lids. This really ruins the convenience of it if you were to use it out and about. And it really is a brilliantly convenient vape otherwise.

It's very fiddly and requires some patience to get it bang on. Taking it apart and putting it back together to find you haven't seated the heater quite right is a chore.

The 8 second (correct if wrong, bad memory) limit on drawing prevents you getting bigger, more satisfying draws and clouds.

Not a big fan of the chamber lid, it's fiddly to open and sort of messy.

In the end, I like it. It's very convenient to keep on USB charge and hit while waiting for other vapes to heat up. I might take it on my next hotel trip rather than the Mighty. It fills a niche but I can't see it being my daily driver. Next iteration of this device will be very interesting indeed.

Hadn't been using my Esv much over the last month or so. Noticed battery was dead to tried to charge it but got nothing. Got a return order number from Joe and figured it was time anyways for a new battery and update. It's an early model 000038. After waiting a few day to clean and box it up I decided to give it try charging one more time and it worked! During my trouble shooting phase I had loosened the post screws and retightened them but one hadn't seated correctly. I'm surprised how durable the coil is. I really bent that thing around feeling I had nothing to loose. One worry was the coils were touching and that caused it to not charge. I first had the coil really flat and close to the bowl which obviously is to hot and caused issues. I the. Bent it way down and now it's working better then ever. It's back in the ranks giving the crafty a rest. Love the speed and flavor and except the stirring. It really is a unique vape!

I agree, although I guess I'd call in 'innovative'. True, you could say it's 'in a class of it's own' and easily defend that POV.

I think it's 'an Engineer's vape', the result of some serious 'out of the box thinking' by some very skilled professionals. From the fresh design to the innovative production techniques to the novel use of materials/finishes. Extremely well thought out from a new perspective, this is not just an evolutionary step to the next version of an existing design.

In a way it reminds me of ThermoVape, even though TV went for lowest tech in many ways, they too delivered a true cutting edge product based on similar principles (including 'made in USA' which I also favor). Not for everyone, but a true joy for some of us.

Sound Engineering, optimum choices in techniques and materials to achieve defined goals, extensive testing and solid Customer Service/Support. Very cool. I wish it wasn't such a standout effort, that is I wish more makers had the resources to offer us such fine options to pick from. But still, special it is, and I'm happy to be celebrating that with my ownership and use. In my experience it never fails to capture interest when shown off. Too bad there isn't a huge profit to be had from such vapes, if there was hopefully we'd see more of it.
