@slvelocity I certainly did! About 45 seconds or a minute. I generally go over kill on cool downs, why not. I try to keep my bottom chamber clean to show people how to disassemble it in case anyone needs to be shown how its done over web cam. Some times I mess up or forget just like anyone else, leak a little oil, and have to clean it up... I try my best to cool down a lot, though.

Its just one more breath to cool it down more, to me it's not much effort to ensure the oils stay up top.
I do the same thing I have ocd and find myself Taking cooldown hits at times way after it's completely cool already lol

Long time no see, Persei thread.

I'm looking to build a vape pen again. Interested in the Gen 3 KISS with ceramic donut. I want to power this with a passthrough box mod (anything thrifty and compatible with passthrough, really). Any value priced options to suggest to me?

Looking at the EVIC VTC Mini box 75w and E Leaf Istick, but I don't know what specs to consider for KISSgen3.

been using a SR-74x with an eVic vtc mini + AW battery, it's been working great! firing it at 25 watts / 7.4v
Nice set up, where'd you get the EVIC of you don't mind my asking?

Can anyone link me to a step-by-step KISS cart post? Been searching all night.

cartridge and battery from w9tech and mod from vapeNW

I wanted a black Persei but they were out of stock and word is a new version will be coming out soon so opted for a more affordable mod (i think I paid 29.99) until that's available. I saw a prototype sketch posted a few pgs back that has a sweet side loading cartridge for a super compact setup :)

It is better to unscrew/screw the cap or retire the mp while still hot, I use a torch for the cap when I want to reload while cold. Honnestly I clean mine after 9-10g of concentrates.
Thank you, this is great advice, I have had much better luck getting the sticky threads to come loose after first heating up the Hercules SR-74x cartridge. I did this by turning on the Persei and heating up the Hercules SR-74x cartridge before attempting to loosen the threads.

What are some of the best techniques for loading the AC single and dual TI coils?

I just take my dab tool and scoop up a half grain/full grain rice sized piece of wax and let it fall off the dab tool onto the coil(s) while trying by absolute best to avoid making contact between the tool and coil. This can be frustrating sometimes if the concentrate sticks onto the dab tool, or doesn't fall directly onto the coil and instead into the little well beneath.

Are there better methods? Are there different methods for hard vs soft vs gooey concentrate?

Would CO2 oil work? I suppose that would be easiest as far as application goes.

I use a toothpick, safer to put near the coil if you gotta smear some wax on the coils.
still gotta be careful tho.

for hard concentrates i simply snap a piece off with my finger, roll it into an oval shape dab, and then lay that on the coil. ready to go.

crumble? that's pretty difficult depending on if it crumbles apart in chunks or is super sensitive. try using a tooth pick with reclaim on the tip to pick up piece of crumbles and melt it slowly on the coil by pulsing the fire button

It is finalized that the v2 iris will be the single 18650 side loading Persei, working on a time frame on when it will be available.

Is the new persei side loading? I thought that was just the new 8. I.... might not know what side loading means. Just said "you keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means" to myself.

I use a super cheap plastic tool (pack of 30 for $3) and use it to spread it over the coils if it needs it. I'm never putting concentrate on coils hot enough to melt wax so I don't worry about the plastic. I love it for scooping out of the cup too. A solid not sticky bho I'll just roll a ball and smash it a little on the coil with my fingers. I don't know with the super crumbly/powdery stuff, that's my least favorite consistency. It's hard to ball up and doesn't stick to anything. I agree that the syringe stuff is easiest for coils and donuts, I don't see that to buy as much around me. Right now it's all shatter and live resin.

Yup, there's different methods. For the goo, or other sticky substances, the best way I've found is to have a small butane torch lighter, or a torch on low heat. Use a grade 2 titanium tool with a fine point, and hold it above the coil. Then take your lighter and lick heat across the tool (don't hold it in place) just gently introduce heat until your oils slide off the end of the tool. Aim for the center of the wick! Loading double wicks is easy peasy, you've got a big target to hit.

I'll +1 this technique. At home I also keep my concentrates in the freezer typically and then you can easily just break a small piece off to drop on the coil.

I used to almost exclusively use CO2 oils even in the Herc. This work great on the various Kiss carts and is by far the easiest to apply if you can get it in syringes. CO2 is very viscous even at room temp though so you really need to be careful not to overload or you will get leaking. From my experience CO2 works best in the Kiss carts if you load very small amounts especially on a single coil. The Herc also works good with CO2 but if you are not extremely careful you will leak into the lower chamber. Pocket heat can be more than enough to screw you.

Can @SamuraiSam or @THC SCIENTIFIC give a little recap on the new units and their names? I'm confused as to what is what at this point.

The new Persei will be the first temp control unit, and the attachment will screw onto the top of the battery/unit? Are there two different battery configs available?

Is the side loading temp control unit the new 8 or Iris? Two battery configs here too?

Any idea on when the first temp control unit might be available?

Thanks.

These items are currently under development, and we don't have any release dates at this time. Please rest assured that any news about the new units will always be shared here as soon as it's available :)

Have to do a quick shout out to W9 for doing it right.

Received my AC unit and a complementary 1701 @ 3.7. The whole damn thing was complementary really, and for someone who left pen vapes for rigs, I have to say this thing can kick my ass. Solidly built, worlds easier to use and with the support of some real great guys. Keep the tech rollin', gentlemen.

And name some more product after Futurama! I'm still waiting to buy my LRRR attachement, and my Seymour, the home charging unit that's always waiting for you.

Took the plunge and ordered up the okeanos v2 bubbler and the two donut 1701 attys (3.7 and 7.4) even though I havnt used my persei or any pen in over a year.

I was going to get a nibbler but the okeanos looks almost like an ecig atty so it looks ideal for being out and about..

Im really looking forward to this setup. Ive always had problems with hotness or irritation with any pens , unless they were paired with some sort of water , and pretty much had to give up using them all together.

The only one I was able to use dry with any luck in terms of production and comfort was the dt 2.5 , but Im not fond of adhesives in attys.

Does anyone with any experience using the 1701 and okeanos they can share? Good or bad....

Also one of the reason I bought these is because they are rebuildable but I see that the donuts are out of stock on w9tech.com , is there anywhere else that stocks them?

Check Divine tribes, they may have replacement donuts. Send them an email and ask, they too have great customer service.
