First off, howdy! Welcome to the forum and all the fun. Lots of good folks with solid advice.

Very tough call, IMO. I like both. You might reconsider to the FM Mini if you are at all concerned about size. The Mini carries charge for say 4 loads, IMO plenty. Fits the hand well as well. In the pocket it's the difference between an oversize Zippo lighter and a pack of bridge cards.

Stay away from 'questionable' sources. I know from first hand experience counterfeit Airs are 'out there' in the too good to be true section? I'm not sure about FM counterfeits, don't recall hearing about any, but they can't be that far off my radar. Go with an authorized dealer. I'm not there, but I bought Airs from Planet Vape in Canada whom I recall happily ships there? Puff it Up is also a possible, and another strong supporter of these Forums.

Hopefully some of our UK/EU brotheren can give more useful advice on sources, they're a bit closer......

And great call about dumping blazing. Smoking can kill you. And drain your wallet. Look for a HUGE savings on weed bills and more years to enjoy it in. Not a bad bargain?

If you looking for stealthy and truly portable vape I would take the fm over the air..I own the solo and fm pro..while I love my solo for home use and some travel..the fm size and mp compartment just make it more viable option for walking around and overall portability...glass stems from the air n solo are hard to store and protect from damage without having to carry another case..the fm has you covered w the mp holder built in..I love both the airzer and fm products both have there place..but imho the fm is just easier to carry around.......I know the air is smaller than the solo but you still need the glass stems and still have to transport them

Why not consider the flowermate Aura. It has temperature control and a very long-lasting battery. I think it is a great portable and believe puffitup has them for like 69 bucks.

It doesn't come up all that often, but when it does it comes up here I think? There's a lot of models on this thread right now.......

No, the electronics is not completely isolated......try blowing into the charge port hole while it's working (hint, vapor comes out the MP.......).

Then again, I see nothing wrong with this, IMO there are no 'evil electronics vapors' to fear. If there are, my monitor and PC have been poisoning me for some time now. IMO air coming out the back of the computer is just as safe as that going in the front.

Don't fight that feeling. It is indeed an excellent deal from a known Good Guy. I got my Aura from Randy (go figure) a while back and really enjoy it. IMO far better than the FM V3.0 for instance (it's lighter by far, digital temperature settings and longer battery......and cheaper).

I'm not all that sold on my Mini Pro. The digital settings are nice I guess (although I tend to go straight to 390F most of the time so the old version works fine for me. The battery meter is still a joke as we've discussed (when it shows 'half charge' it's a toss up if there's enough charge for another session?) but most of all I think the smaller battery is too big a sacrifice. IMO go for the normal Mini at $85 instead of the Pro version at $105.

Agreed. I think it makes an excellent backup vape at low cost. I've loaned mine out twice to 'new users', one resulted in a sale. I'm seriously considering sending Randy some more of my money and getting a second one, when it's home this one sees a lot of use....... Around here $65 will get you and eighth ounce of the good stuff 'out the door' with a bit of change (but not much). The Aura is sure to last way longer.......

Edit: So, OK, after proofreading my post above I was struck by the profound wisdom therein.....so I just ordered another Aura (now I'll be able to loan one out and still have one at home, waiting patiently...). How's that for sincerity? Following my own advice as it were.....

wow thanks for the replies guys :) Feeling the love.

I'm not too concerned about being stealthy with it, it will be mainly used at home in my room and also to take around friends house so battery time is important. don't want to be keep charging it while round there house lol

The reason I liked the Flowermate 5.0s is because it seems it has a nice long battery life with the 2 internal batteries.

Fun site, it's only five pounds until you select their "Free" grinder, which adds 60 to the total? I'd pass on the grinder, it's not worth a hundred dollars......

While things sound genuine, this is the first I've heard of other colors. Has anyone else? That sets off my 'watch out, danger' alarm. Why would they first show up there? And notice they can't ship to the US? That might mean they are legit and that restriction came from FM? Otherwise why don't they want my money if I insist on a red one and what to pay the shipping? You might consider contacting FM to confirm they're authorized or to ask for suggested dealers in the UK?

For such 'bend it to shape' duty I like fine mesh (although it fouls faster). When they do foul I usually carefully pluck them out with a needle or safety pin then torch it with a small 'lighter type' torch until they glow. Then brush the ash off and carefully tuck the ends under the rim for another run. The one it the photo has been cleaned this way many many times.

Just wanted to let you know that those screens work like a charm! Airflow is great. No more cutting mesh screens. The company also sent them quickly. 50 screens? Should last me a long time. Thanks!

I am reading away here now because I have an Arizer Air and am looking to get a Flowermate. I like my air, but it doesn't give that extra oomph - even on the red setting, and IME its not that discreet. I am looking for something that I can almost completely palm. The mini looks to fill both needs - higher temp and more discreet.
Maybe someone can compare the Flowermate mini and the Arizer in terms of their top oven heat.

I can't do a comparison with the Air (I have a Solo), but I have both the Mini and the Mini Pro. The Mini Pro gives you a greater temperature range. Sometimes I feel the the 380 start temp is just too harsh. I prefer starting at around 350 and slowly go up. But I do love the simplicity of the Mini. Both are good.

So I ordered it late last night (Friday) it was shipped out 'first thing' this morning (6:12 AM local time), the Post Office picked it up at 11:21 and shows it as projected delivery Monday! Can Randy at PIU take care of us or what? Ladies and Gentlemen, we're walking in tall cotton.

In honor of it coming soon I got it's well used brother out. We're old friends but suddenly one of those 'of course' moments hit. I typically reload when I empty a vape 'in rotation' so it's ready to go. Unlike say Solo/Air (glass stems) it's not easy to see if it's loaded and how fresh the load is (often I shut down part way through and come back to finish but by then have forgotten if it's cashed or not. I also install the MP 'clocked around' a bit. Looked at from the end with buttons and display up I set it at 'about 10:30 being right handed. Thus, when I'm using it, my thumb is beside the display and the buttons are in the open area between thumb and fingertips. Solid grip and no chance of changing settings accidently.

So the new routine capitalizes on this rotation. When freshly loaded I'm putting the MP on 'straight up', that is with the MP vertical, until it's used (when I'd rotate it 45 degrees). It stays at 45 degrees until spent (or empty) in which case I rotate it again to be at 9 and 3 o'clock instead. Now I can tell instantly what the load conditions is based on MP position. Either virgin, part used, or spent/empty. No more guessing or checking to find out.....and often wondering 'is there enough left to make it worth trying another session'.

So I bought a fm v5.0s from sourcevapes.com got a steal of a deal for like 59.99$ around December November holidays .. Brought it even lower with a code for 53.99$

Anyways I've been on the go and only brought around my Mflb/firewood .. I go back to trying my flowermate after about a month and after charging it up to full green, 5 clicks and there's no start up.

Any idea how I may fix this if possible. I've taken apart the device and did a minor basic cleaning and checked it overall for imperfections. Nothing as far as I could tell, I guess I'll follow up with screen shots soon.

After testing out the mini pro this weekend I have to say I'm very impressed! I love how small and compact this unit is.

The unit size is about a 1/3 of my air case. It fit perfectly in my camelback and I even used it to charge my phone towards the end of the day!

Everyone that tested out the unit was impressed. It heated up fast even in the cold. This is a perfect adventure vape for me. Only upgrades I'll do is a wooden mouthpiece and more pods.

I think the pods are great for the mini pro as I could fine tune the temp for my bud. I used my magic flight box finnishing grinder and threw Keif in also.

The only downsides I noticed was the brightness of the LCD screen. It was impossible to see on the mountain in direct sunlight, but easily seen in the shade. And last how fast the vape needs to be cleaned. With my air I can go 30+ bowls before having to do an easy clean. With the mini pro I would recommend cleaning every 10 bowls or so because the mouthpiece seems to dirty up quickly.

Shatter and concentrates work amazing in the pod as I could turn the temp to max (around 446F)

Easily one of my new favorite vapes and I have a feeling it might be my main driver over the air as it is 1/3 smaller, digital, a power bank, and can be loaded and stored with extra bowls ready to go.

The airizer air is more of a solo vape to me. I have the dome screen so the bowl is only .1 which is perfect for me. Efficiency is hard to beat. With draw being extremely restricted

The mini pro is solo to group vape with a max bowl of around .2 to .3 with efficiency up there as well. The draw can be altered and the heater supplies nice vapor even when you rip hard and fast. Vapor quality is up there with the air. Extremely smooth and flavorful. Usual bowl would last me around 10-15 minutes so Battery last around 3-4 bowls. Charging is quick and battery indicator is a nice touch. After one bowl the vape charged my phone over 60%.

Overall I love the mini pro and its quickly becoming my new favorite!

@brokecollegekid : glad you like it! It quickly entered my daily rotation as well. I think if I had to chose a single word to describe that one, it would be "practical".

I don't mind the OLED brightness, we had the same problem with the LED visibility on previous models: either you get something strong enough to be seen under direct sunlight, and in a dark room you get the equivalent of a christmas tree on steroids (the contrary of stealthy) or you get what we have... a matter of tradeoffs as usual.

After using the device for a short while I have three negative points to report, but all three are not that important:

- As stated previously, the battery level indicator can be a bit misleading, better be ready for a shutdown when you got only 1/3 left on display (exactly like what @steama just reported in the Sidekick thread)
- The bowl is closer (less silicone insulation on top) than on the full scale FM5's and it really makes the base of the mouthpiece hotter. I mentionned that it was easier to burn oneself inadvertently in my initial review but it's not only because of the device size, that metal mouthpiece base appears to be considerably hotter, so beware, especially when passing the device around.
- For some reason the plastic doors are really wobbly on mine and hand pressure isn't enough to bend the aluminium shell, I will have to carefully use some other tool I think. It's a minor annoyance but I dislike that my doors can rattle and I had a case where the bottom one opened and I almost dropped the glass mouthpiece on the floor.

Apart from that it's a solid performer. Not necessarily a fog machine, it's a ceramic oven conduction vape so you know what to expect, but if you do the temperature stepping and start low the taste is pretty good.

Ah one last point: like in all my vapes having this kind of oven, you really need to either tamp your load hard (puck technique) or fill the bowl completely (consumes too much material for me though) or use a filler of some kind (cotton, hemp, domed screen, whatever fits your bill) Especially when the device is new and the ceramic unstained, the load can "lift up" and lose contact with the bottom of the bowl. Everytime it happens you get considerably wispier vapor. Just open it and tamp the puck back in place and vapor production will restart instantly.

Ive had the og mini for about 6 months and this little puppy is kick ass..i dont really think ill need the pro because of the mini i usually stay camped out on the lowest blue setting..two question here..do the pods fit in the og mini? And what is the status on the electronics in the og mini? I dont think they are seperated from air but as i believe others have stated not too much of concern..

Yes the pods fit int the mini, however you will have to use a higher temp to achieve the same vapor production.

I found the pods are awesome for solo use. And the doors on mine are tight hopefully they don't loosen with time

Meanwhile, i'm still happy with my basic 1st generation Flowermate, which starting working really well only after i lost the mesh of the mouth tip.

FM really improves over each new model, according to experts here? This sets the expectation as high as a fully packed bowl, and gives the opportunity to work on my impatience ;)

SCORE !!! and after reading the many kudos on this model from @OF and others, I had to jump on this at that $43.80 price! ( I was itching to grab one aftyer almost pulling the trigger on a $59 special from PIU )

I hope what you get is the genuine article. I got both of mine from PIU and am confident mine are (just got the second one this morning (ordered Friday after hours!), it's charging now). There are counterfeits out there no doubt as well as 'black and gray market' ones? And of course service issues should there be a problem. To me, the additional fifteen bucks to get it from Randy in a couple of days, know it's authentic, and have 'the best Customer Service available' should there be any problems is money well spent. For less than the cost of a gram of top shelf bud......

Then again, I have the $15 to spare, not everyone does.

If it's genuine I'm confident you'll like it.

I think Aura is about average for such vapes. In fact, perhaps on the fast side of average? The actual heat up time depends a LOT on the charge level. I just timed my first heat up/burn off on my new unit from full charge. A couple seconds over one minute, in fact by the time I'd wound the heat up to 390 it had already heated to 310.

If that's the only problem you have I'd say you're in good shape if you can live with typical times? It it's not fast enough for you, best check out Summit and ESV.......... Or flame powered vapes like VG, VM, Hammer and Dynavap.
