I think there is 6 beta units going out for quick feedback of a week or two and then full scale we go. Because this unit is bare bones and the heater is already finalized it should be a much more timely launch than the Zion which takes a lot more parts and labor.

Thanks rag I can't believe after everything we've been through that I would forget such a scientific # as that. Of course we can't turn our noses up to the ever so dreaded presence of the 10% combustion rule. Lol

You guys are killing me. Haha. Oddly no one has told me "they could tell" I 10% combusted in any of my most recent videos.

I thought that joke was dead. But either way, it is Saturday and todays forcast calls for a 100% chance of vaporization

For those that are only following Milaana and not Zion, here are those relevant parts of today's (imo) phenomenal update:

Milaana Update
Holy sh*t snacks is Milaana is really picking up steam. the production design is finalized other than any minor tweaks that are made after the Z-team gets there hands on it. At this point the only significant input that is required from the Z-Team is tuning the heater. The Z-Team beta units are mainly to give the Z-Team a test drive prior to the shipment of the first 50 units.... so yeh, the the first 50 wooden bodies where machined this week in RBT Labs to feed manufacturing. These parts will be used to pilot run the new manufacturing line to prove it out so that we are ready for wood from Ed's TNT. This weekend will be spent running the parts through the routers and sanders and training the new staff to assemble units. Next week will begin the final assembly with RBT quality oversight twice a week. It is expected that several hundred Milaana's will be completed over the next month or two providing inventory and salable goods as we wait for the Zion supply chain to mature.

Note Worthy
RBT has made a hand shake agreement with Ed's TNT to provide Milaana bodies and stems for all RBT vaporizers. Ed is not only a master wood worker, he is also a stand-up guy and now strategic partner of RBT. Wood and tooling are on order and we wait excitedly to see what he does with Milaana.

We have moved into our new manufacturing facility shown below on the banks of the mighty Hudson. The first two employees have been hired and are began training this week to assemble the first 50 Milaana's next week! They are young engineering students that are avid vapist and both had mods with 18650's in their pocket so it's really an ideal situation. (facility and view of the Hudson shown below)

Talks are underway with Puff It Up, Vapor Warehouse, Planet Vape and other retailers.Starting March 1st RBT will no longer retail the Zion in our store. The Milaana will remain for sale through March at which point only accessories will be sold by RBT as we transition to our new retail partners. This build-out will start with a handful of units reaching all partners such that they can build a quick RBT footprint to ready for the mounting production volume.

Check out the Zion thread, or the RBT website, for the full update with shots of the new manufacturing facility :brow:

I'm not sure if I'm correct but I am reading this update with the understanding that only the Milaana wood bodies will be manufactured by Ed and not the Zion?

If that is the case, then I wonder if exotic wood Milaana's will be available sooner rather than later......and perhaps only for the Milaana rather then the Zion?

I am also guessing that Ed's wongs and stems will now be available for both the Zion and Milaana?

Can anybody shed some light as to whether I am correct in my understanding/assumptions?

Speaking on exotic wood bodies would be speculation from me but.... Ed accessories is certainly a possibility in the not too distant future. And considering this unit and the Zion both use 18mm stems, any Ed stem would be compatible with both units.

Yes stems will work with both, I believe Ed is trying to get some prototypes to testers soon so he can verify and churn em out.

Likewise yes, Ed is only doing Milaana bodies bc they are small and simple, and he has more than enough know how. I too hope that means other wood types in the future, but probably at least a year away from that...

Goal is to get as many regular maple clear glass Zion/Milaana made and into the wild as possible, keep costs low, and everything simpler. If things go well, then we can more reasonably expect more personalized options for wood and glass down the line.

Until then, get the basics while you can! The real seller here is the heater and design imo

I like clear glass better anyway! LONG LIVE CLEAR GLASS! AND MAPLE! Well, maple maybe not as long... gotta die sooner or later to become a Zion/Milaana.

I thought the same when Ed's name was mentioned (exotic woods, stems, finishes etc) would be nice to see even if your a early adopter and have the very basic model, basic model isn't a bad thing just look at the vap cap OG that many have perfectly able to produce the goods simply enough without any bells and whistles.

I'd be happy with the maple, can always stain it if that's your thing. I would assume over time and use that colour will change, being handled my many a man will do that to a wooden body?

Fantastic news about puffitup getting on board!

Just a question: If we buy the Milaana directly from RBT now, would warranty issues be handled directly through him or one of the retailers?

By button do you mean the battery contact actually? Next to the bowl with the screw? bc the button is not sharp at all, same one on the Zion, even protruded like this should be perfectly fine. As for the screw and any potentially sharp edges, rest assured we will test for that to ensure it is acceptably smooth.

I was referring to the sharp end of the screw sticking out of the gear-looking thing, which also looks rather sharp on the edges.

Yeah that's what I thought. I think it will be fine but I made a mental note to see about that in my testing when I have one.

Also to answer your other question, warranty will still always be through RBT regardless, but with a retailer like puffitup you would have the option to go through Randy instead, though there is a limit to what he can do of course

But I like it!
So I have 2 more friends in the area who want Milannas, after either choking on No13Baby, or just hearing stories about others choking on it (The name of my sex tape? :). Are these shipping to Canada? Or do I need to use the dreaded Washington State mailing address, and then drive back across the border with a bona fide medical device and save tax and such? Ahh, these are the kinds or problems I really enjoy rasslin with :)

Is there a time limit for preordering Manillas? Manolos? Muranos? You know what I mean :)

I believe pre orders are still open to international as they are technically all the beta pilot production run (though the heater tech is finalized, as seems to be the bodies) but there may be a limited quantity available.

I believe the time limit will be through the end of March, then this will shift to retailers as mass production for Milaana can be scaled up more quickly and simply
