Man Surely the "Ti" Hopper cannot be turned out of a billet of solid Titanium. Cost to manufacture would be too prohibitive...

I am a machinist for my job and can attest to the beautiful turning work done on this thing. Doesn't it have a 3D-printed heating element as well? It looks good!

I would guess they are using prefabricated Ti tubing as much as possible to minimize machining, then working billet as needed for smaller parts.

3D Printed heating element? That is news to me, although I must say I haven't followed the project that in depth. Wonder what material they used if it is 3D Printed. Anyone have insight on that?

one question- how many batteries did you get with your VapeFiend Hopper?

and one suggestion- not just hold in your hits. do what i call a power breathing. as flowed: take a hit. hold it for few seconds. slowly let a little bit of vapor out. do a sharp breath-in. hold a bit. slowly exhale a bit. and powerful breath again! repeat this for about 4 cycles.

i noticed that just holding is not so effective. you have to circulate that vapor for maximum effect. because alveoli absorb as much as they can in one breathe. so make it multiple! ;)

I only got 1 battery unfortunately. but Vapefiend said they should have some in stock in two weeks time.

Thanks for the tip on the breathing technique, will give it a shot.

Happy vaping .

Hi Zymos,
At this point in time, I must conclude that we have an incoherent dialogue thread. For me, there is hard science, and the rest is bullshit. Reality/truth versus mendacious confabulation. It shall evermore be thus.

:myday:
It is indeed incoherent when someone espouses "hard science" yet cannot recognize that the controlled conditions read about in textbooks are not achieved in real life situations.

While that may be true, i would not pay that £249 like $350
Too much of a premium, i can wait.... Also more reliability as things get sorted.

Preordering and waiting several months (at best) VS paying premium and getting it the next day, that's what's in play here.
I cancelled my preorder from the 30th of June after I realized GHL wouldn't honor their September delivery as it was written on their website. I just couldn't justify my money being held there while I was left in the dark on when my order would be shipped. If it was a "pay on dispatch" kind of preorder I may have kept my place in the line.

Anyway I guess it's a matter of personal preferences and how long you are ready to wait. Ah and of course for us EU residents we would probably have to pay customs when ordering through GHL :\

definitely waiting for my pre-order as well... my case is a recent one so there's plenty of room for patience. I'm only hoping that HL will not screw their customers over their retailers.. All the rest is for the company to decide..

300£ I think.

By the way, to vapefiend buyers: did you receive a sleve with your unit? Ti was supposed to come with one.
No sleeve with mine .

Just checked on Vapefiend and this is what is included with a TI hopper :
Includes:
  • Grasshopper Vaporizer
  • Magnetic Charger
  • Silicone Mouthpiece
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty
  • FREE Global Shipping

Would have appreciated something with it besides a sticker and mouthpiece , but at least we got the Hopper.

Edit: Vapefiend added a new full Video Review of the Grasshopper

Hi Vaperist,
Yes, thank you for your mention of "proper breathing" techniques with respect to inhalation retention. Your lungs (and mine too) contain about 700 million alveoli, which is where the magic happens. Magic, you say ? Yep. For this is where the osmosis occurs. The longer a draw is captured in the lungs, the more time that osmosis happens. By exhaling a little bit, then inhaling fresh air a little bit, repeating, repeating, you can momentarily circumvent your bodies autonomic nervous system which compels you to take a breath, thereby maximizing THC assimilation into the bloodstream.

Well, I had better brace myself for the inevitable stoning (pun intended) from the "pouncers".

and also. alveoli not only absorbing what you inhale, they also release carbon from your body. so if you don't circulate your lungs they become full CO2, and can not absorb more of that vapor. + you get that nice vapor taste with every little exhale ;)

I'm not sure I understand, you can load and get 20+ hits from one Hopper bowl. ...If your battery cooperates.
Well that's reassuring. I've just been going by what I've been reading other people saying.

Are you just keeping it on temp 1 to do it though?

I want to clarify the warranty procedure for any Grasshoppers being bought from Vapefiend- it has been brought up a few times here so I felt I should post it here to make it clear.

Even though you bought from Vapefiend, you must still register your Grasshopper via the Grasshopper website, using your serial no. and the code on your box.

In the event of a fault developing, you must file your warranty claim through the Grasshopper website in the first instance, making sure to mention that you bought your Grasshopper from Vapefiend. This is because Grasshopper need to respond to any trends quickly and so need to collect data about faults as they occur.

If a replacement or repair is necessary, and the customer is outside North America, Vapefiend will then contact customer to arrange the next step, which will usually involve sending the unit in to us in London, England for repairs or replacement. Customers inside North America will probably get their issue solved by Grasshopper in Colorado as it makes more sense.
