Does this look right for the battery connector on the AC? I had some leaking from the dual coil atty. Still getting accustomed to this device and think I was overloading. Soaked everything in ISO, just want to make sure I didn't lose something. Is that rod in the battery connector supposed to be open like this? Looks like I still have some oil in there even after letting it soak overnight. The cylinder is much too small for a cutip.

Also, what is the max wattage you guys are running the AC dual coil in Temperature Control mode?

I'm using an iStick TC100W and running the dual coil in TI TC mode at 15W and between 400F-450F.

Been getting excellent rips that way, but there's a slight ramp up time that I'm wondering if I could eliminate by increasing the wattage.

And for TCR - is 352 the correct value for these coils?

Would anyone be able to provide a comparison of the SR-71/74 3.7v rods vs the 7.4v rods? Or just any opinions on the 3.7 rods would help.

That looks correct but not quite clean. The pin is too small for a cotton swab to fit inside even if you tear off all the cotton. Push the pin out then put it into a zippered sandwich bag and pour a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol inside. Put this baggie in hot water and it'll increase the cleaning effectiveness of the alcohol. Take a tooth pick and wipe inside to remove any excess oils and exchange amber ISO with fresh until it stays clear. (Same cleaning principles apply for any coils or cartridges, nearly anything with oily residue)

I can't speak to the operation of your device; different devices implement TC a lot differently. On my particular box mod I use 16 watts in TC mode and set temp about 400-450 most of the time but with different devices it can be difficult to draw comparisons. I put literally the exact same AC setup from my Omicron V4 onto my Joyetech eVic Mini and used in Temp control, then put onto a friends something D4 in Joule mode, and tried to set it the same way, the performance was not nearly as good. For this reason I can't guarantee performance of our coils in TC mode on any third party device, as I've personally tried to set them up on various boxes and haven't achieved consistent performance device-to-device.

When you're using a Persei with a single 18650 the black rod has a longer heatup than the white rod and delivers a bit better flavor and less clouds since it delivers less wattage. You can see a comparison of wattage outlined here:

Just like when you use one of the rods on the Core and can change the power to control the output, you can do the same thing with either rod on a variable voltage or wattage power supply. I have been using my Hercules with black rod on a variable power supply and can achieve the same flavor or cloud production as my SR-74. Once I've put a few more grams through the Herc and the flavor doesn't merit keeping the temps super low, I'll be ready to try SR-71 ish level power settings and I'll be sure to report my findings, so far I'm very happy with the flavor & vapor output around 25 watts on the black rod.

Ah, I wasn't aware the pin can be pushed out. What's the best way to do this? And, when I reinstall it, should the bottom of the pin be flush with the end of the battery connector or should it be sunken just a little bit?

I haven't had luck with the dual coils in tc mode myself so far. On my evic tc mini it seems to go from no power to full power immediately over and over giving me irregular puffs that vary in taste. It also occasionally just jumps out of tc mode and into power mode which can be damaging to your coil if you don't pay attention and you're riding the button. It works well in power mode though, I've been running dual coils at around 13w and getting better vapor/taste.

My ipv4s won't run it in tc mode at all. In power mode the resistance jumps all over the place too. I'm giving that one away soon, it's sucked for the ac so far.

I'm hoping the new tc persei will nail tc mode on the dual coils. Can't wait to try it on those and the herc.

If you push from the inside it will pop out the bottom with a rubber gasket/insulator thing. To put it back I just pop the rubber thing back and on push in from the bottom until it stops.

I've had pretty solid luck with the AC dual coils and the evic vtc mini, been running 13w and anywhere from 350 to 420. I got a Nibbler AC on Friday and now things are even more awesome.

About an hour after I posted this I got the no atomizer found message halfway through a session and couldn't get it working the rest of the day. I tried screwing everything in in different orders and still couldn't clear the message. It happens every couple uses and randomly messing with stuff will make it work or it will just work the next day somehow. Usually if I take the ac off, run it on the persei, then put it back on the evic it works again. Now I'm back to my 7.4 persei's, so far they've never let me down. I save my evic for events where I want it to look like an ecig thing. I like it, but I don't trust it as my daily.

i have a evic mini as well for testing and it is not all that, in fact i would never recommend it. It can not even drive the ejuice tank it came with in TC mode and its designed for TC mode. It would work for a few puffs and then sputter, with minimal vapor production.

What coils did the included tank come with? The first gen tank it came with at the time I bought my "box only" didn't include a coil that worked in TC mode; but the current "Tron" tank it comes with I've never seen. Just don't know which coil it includes.

I never bothered buying any Ti coils for my TFV4 Mini to try temp-controlled e juice vaping, as I gave up e-juice and went back to oil vaping after about two weeks. I've pretty much only used this eVic VTC box to drive Gen 3 KISS coils, Alpha Centauri, and now trying out the Hercules on it.

That's really strange. I have been exclusively using your double coil carts on evic mini. I DO NOT use it in temp control or titanium mode. I use the tcr mode with appropriate parameters for the titanium2, I think it was 352. The highest temp I ever need is 440-450. I can get huge clouds or nice small discreet ones.

By the way a huge thank you for these carts. I really don't feel comfortable using much of anyhing else on the market right now. Although I stopped keeping up with new gear coming out 6 months back once I got my hands on your carts.

Edit: still looking forward to the new unit u guys are putting out.

Hmmmm, when the new tc boxes come out I might just buy a second herc to use during cleanings and switch to those permanently. Well, probably mostly permanently.

TCR mode? That doesn't sound familiar, I think I need to do a firmware update. Tc ti mode definitely sputters for me right now so I gave up on it.

Yep, Temperature Coefficient of Resistance , I think it should show up when u update firmware. I think it works wickedly great with the single and double coils from w9. Did not have much luck with the cheap globe and donut with the evic. With the donut I would need to heat it up to the point where the center of the donut would be glowing red. That made be uncomfortable.

Happy Friday!

Looking good my man! I just got off work and did the same but not the Herc just some local BHO with the dual Ti coil Kiss Globe. Your video makes me want to break out the Herc. It has been awhile!

On a side note, while I was getting my v4 Persei upgraded to v5 I started using my 8 again. This may sound strange and maybe it is placebo. It just seems like all my concentrates taste better on the 8. The Persei seems to heat the coil much quicker and I think it is easier to overheat the oil? Maybe my technique on the 8 is just better. The shorty 8 + dual coil Kiss Globe + Nibbler G is still my best daily driver.

@slvelocity I certainly did! About 45 seconds or a minute. I generally go over kill on cool downs, why not. I try to keep my bottom chamber clean to show people how to disassemble it in case anyone needs to be shown how its done over web cam. Some times I mess up or forget just like anyone else, leak a little oil, and have to clean it up... I try my best to cool down a lot, though.

Its just one more breath to cool it down more, to me it's not much effort to ensure the oils stay up top.
