How do i know i have the right gaskets? I got one Satchmo off Vapefiend and it was a bit scratched on the outside, And the gaskets smell. To be honest i duno if i am impressed by this or not. I have seen better quality storage solutions and the damper or shock absorber on the side is a stick bit of hairy crap that shreds?

Why not some quality rubber you know in time it will completely be removed right leaving the casing as plastic junk. It just seems like a badly thought out solution in my mind. Then again i am the most fussy person around and will find a fault in nearly anything.

Next up Gnar Jar, Keep my one and only Satchmo for kief due to keeping out light, Thats my one plus point on this jar that it keeps out light from degrading my long term storage of kief!

@rodders83 i ordered some from vapefiend and they all smell too. The camera case sized ones stink. I find this product a little overrated on this forum .. same as the santa cruz shredder.

I ordered 3 classic (film canister) Jyarz from puffitup and 2 were perfect. One was very stinky and the underside of the cap was discolored. It also sits lower in the plastic case than the other two. I wouldn't put anything in it that was going in or on my body. That said, I figured it was a return or something weird happened to it. I'm getting a replacement sent out. Puffitup are great to deal with. They have killer customer service.

As far as being overrated....... The product (if you don't have a stinky one, which is definitely disconcerting) does exactly what it is advertised to do. It keeps light out. It locks odor in. It seems (untested) to be pretty drop/shock proof. It is small and easily portable. I don't know how it could be "overrated" by doing exactly what it is supposed to. Overpriced? Maybe, but it isn't overrated. I'm not even sure that it is overpriced but it is expensive.

Most of the grinders are over-rated i am currently mad at my lumpy grind Spacecase so there are many aspects of C storage that can be improved. These gaskets bug me though i have washed mine again and soaked it in water and it seems it might be going away. The whole thing is currently drying and airing but i would not buy another one for anything but keeping out light sorry to @aldoromu.

Thier size makes it so it is really only for kief for me, If they bring out a bigger one maybe i will change my mind but for bud i am going to say Gnar Jar looks #1 and hopefully will not smell.

@Gettinbetter just trying to add some balance to the thread .. there definitely is problems with smelly gaskets and i have the newer less smelly ones apparently.

I just dont understand why people seem to have soo many jyarz for home storage. I have one that i use for freshly ground bud as it has a bowl bottom and is convenient for scooping preground. I have one also for portable uses.

However at home i just use standard mason jars and keep in a dark cupboard i dont see the need for loads of jyarz for home storage. However for out and about they are great.

Not meaning to offend anyone.

Balance is always welcome in my opinion.. and I may be "that guy." I'm currently holding 20 odd Satchmo's and 15 or so classics. Here's why:

1. Cannabis recently became recreational legal in my state and I went into full on collecting mode these past few months. I'm sitting on 45 or so strains that I like to keep separate. Different colored Jyarz and a label maker help keep me organized.

2. Jyarz allow me to pregrind most of my strains and they can sit for months and still be fresh. Non pregrind lasts even longer.

3. I used to run CVaults when I had to procure ounces (of one or two strains) on the black market. Now that it is legal, I tend to only buy 3-7 grams at a time (my state's limit for a single purchase is 7 grams). The smaller Jyarz work better for this than my large CVaults.

4. I place my separated strains in Jyarz in one of my CVaults if I ever need to freshen the material (add back water content). Again, keeping my strains separate in a humidity controlled CVault.

5. I believe in supporting small businesses and hooking up my friends. I've probably gifted a few dozen of these guys in the last year or two.

6. Collecting things is cool. Organizing your collection in unique containers is also cool. It's a hobby, no other explanation needed.

7. The excitement my friends get when they stop by and see my collection. The Jyarz add to this.

Anyways, those are my reasons for owning a lot of Jyarz. Hope that helps clear up some confusion.

Damn you, party liquor
I also keep several strains preground in classics with non smelly gaskets so I find having more than one a handy thing. Sorry to see others having issues.
Checked out the gnar jar. No thanks. Decent idea with the upper storage but I don't like that they are see through and I'm a little skeptical of that airtight claim with the simple press fit top. I'll keep my cheap mason jars in the dark with their vacuum seal pump-n-seal top for the bigger containers. I've put months old bud from those vacuum sealed mason jars into a pile of fresh cured and no one can tell the difference. I look forward to testing the larger jyarz against these as well:brow:

All good here. I always appreciate honest experiences with any product.

I only bought a few of the Jyarz but it's because they are a little expensive. Whether or not that price is justified by manufacturing costs and a desire to earn some kind of living, I don't know but I'd guess it is.
My issue was calling something overrated when it appears to do exactly what it states it will.
I just got a Firewood and wanted a good solution for keeping some preground of different types. I like being organized too!

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
I have a couple classic jyarz that have a stronger odor then my others but have found they in no-way impart that odor to the Bud kept inside, still if you remove the lid and give it a sniff it does kinda stink. To get around it being a problem I just don't sniff the JyARz.

The bud once removed from the jyarz still smells like the day it was bought.

Received the fix kits....Thank you Aldo... All is well.:):):)

All good? Have you had a chance to test/use? Are you a happy camper?

You must have some old gaskets because I can assure you the new ones (after much trial and error) do not gas-off in any way. I searched long and hard for the perfect gasket material and I think we found it. We have gasket replacement kits on JyARz in the Accessories section...while the old ones work just fine if you have issues with the smell these new gaskets will take care of it.

How do i know i have the right gaskets? I got one Satchmo off Vapefiend and it was a bit scratched on the outside, And the gaskets smell. To be honest i duno if i am impressed by this or not. I always appreciate candid feedback. Again if there's any odor from gaskets I suspect you have older product. All of our new gaskets are made from an odorless silicone so I think that issue has been entirely addressed. If you have issues please send email to support@jyarz.com and we'll take care of you.

As for the felt pad, it's only purpose is to prevent the glass from slapping on the side of the plastic bottle. It's purely an aesthetic thing, it can be removed entirely and your JyAR will perform just fine.

I think in the long term you'll find our containers last longer and stand up to regular use better than anything else on the market.

But we offer a satisfaction guarantee - so if you aren't entirely satisfied with your purchase I will refund your money.

Most of the grinders are over-rated i am currently mad at my lumpy grind Spacecase so there are many aspects of C storage that can be improved. I think you wrote to support@jyarz.com and I think we addressed your issue. I use my products all the time and I can assure you that they are smell proof. If you think there's odor emanating from your JyAR it's either that the outside needs to be cleaned or a gasket or shock is dislodged or something.

But again, we offer a satisfaction guarantee so send a note to support@jyarz.com and we'll take care of you.

Thanks,

-Aldo

Any luck on your larger size thoughts ?, I was under the impression you were going to post a pic of what you were thinking of using for the glass a lil while back

Baited breath over here

I'm failing miserably on getting that video done....but it's because I'm talking to a potential partner and we're talking about various options regarding new products. I apologize for being so lame on getting this information up here...I WILL DO IT....but it's taking longer ... way longer than planned and I'm sorry for that.

Wow a very kind offer. Thank you :)

It's not kindness. It's a reflection of the fact that we believe in our product and what we do so much that we take the risk that most people will agree. If you/they don't we've failed...and I'd rather you be happy and we figure that out sooner rather than later ;-)

Regards,

-Aldo

Alright everybody, because I've failed to deliver on my statement that I'd post some stuff about the new size..here's a start. This image shows our current cores next to two potential new sizes.

Fuck it...here's a better image with labels:

Which one do you like best? Option #1 or Option #2

I'm forging new ground...I put this on Reddit so people can comment:

https://www.reddit.com/r/JyARz/comments/46rxyg/were_going_to_make_a_bigger_jyar_wondering_what/

Volumes:

Satchmo 100 ML

Option #2 300 ML

Option #1 700 ML

I think that'll work...let's see what happens.

@JyARz i have not contacted you about the smell it must be someone else, I just wanted to know what color gaskets i should have but i will contact support asap thankyou for CS and attitude is great!

And i prefer option 2 but also i like the 700ML just for fun, Although if the felt is only for looks could you not offer them without the felt? Removing it is going to leave residue and that would require No-goo but i am not sure No-goo is suitable on recycled milk tops.

I just do not like the felt for some reason meh, Felt-less 700ml pl0x. :D
