The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
I purchased the ddave bowl hopefully from @DDave himself from his ebay page. And, I brought the ssv whip from So yes that's what I meant. I will definitely let everyone know how's I think the two compare or any differences that I noticed in the EQ that have not previously been posted.
I saw SSV in your post, which was the original concept. But not to be confused with the kit he offers on ebay. Which is a clear straight 18mm wand. If you meant that as being the 'SSV'. I guess we are back on the same page. for clarity's sake.
Silver Surfer has a thick wand with some color in the wand. Which was the original concept. Hope I'm not confusing matters. Anyway Enjoy!!

<---ebay Legit @DDave kit. What every happy EQ deserves. Like in my sig. with the clear 18mm wand. What you probably meant? Right?
---------------------------OR------------------------
SSV ground glass wand from 7th floor (also on ebay from some sellers. btw) part of the older concept. Old school @DDave mod with some sort of short adapter bowl.
We still get new posters referring to this SS wand for the DaBudda and Silver Surfer vaporizer from 7th floor as the 'Ddave' kit.

I realized that the elbow screens are SS and magnetic. SO I have them stuck on a flat magnet which is stuck on a metal post on my shelve. atm :haw: Less fumbling and spillage probs, I'm hoplng. Are magnets safe for this? :hmm:

Pretty sure @KingKannon is referring to the nice thick 7th floor 18mm adapter. I have had to put the EQ in the cupboard again as I have blown out my tolerance & the Air really ratchets it back. I have somehow had a DDave screen go missing from my kit :cuss:. I hope it has rolled under the couch but that is why I have spares it is moreso the fact I will not have an even 6 in rotation with 3 in reserve.

One of the reasons the EQ is banished to the cupboard is because I have found a damm perfect combo in my EQ. DDave 14mm short adapter & wand, a nice chunk of concentrate & a EQ at 240c+.

I swear I was staggering around like a drunk all weekend & it was not a good idea to do multiple back to backs & get a hamburger from where I get a coffee most mornings looking rather more professional. Most embarrassing as I was obviously very intoxicated at midday on Saturday & sitting there waiting for a delicious hamburger & strawberry shake was uncomfortable .

I think the EQ will stay in the cupboard for a while especially with the UD arriving but damm it is kicking like a mule & has never been running better.

For all new EQ owners this is the machine that is the absolute real deal & is you serve it well it will serve you better. I cannot speak highly enough about this machine & there may be newer, better, faster desktop vapes out there but there is a reason why the EQ & DBV/SSV are still very popular. They fucking work!

Hey all. I've had the EQ for about 4 years or more now. I just moved it into a different location, and noticed a static like, electric sound coming from the power adapter. Is this normal or something I should worry about?

Hello AEQfan and welcome to the thread. AFA your electric sound. Were you inspecting it and heard it or was it noticeable entirely on its own? How long was it plugged in beforehand?

I have listened closely to my power adapter and it makes some electrical noise. But has quited itself since I left decided to leave it in 24/7. Perhaps the noise is even more noticeable and normal for it come awake after having the unit unplugged. We hope right? There has been some discussion and held belief that leaving the unit plugged in 24/7 seems to help it perform better. The power adapter being some sort of transformer that works better warmed up.

Inspect all the connections and see how tight they are. Leave it plugged for an extended time. If it seems to crackles less that might me a positive. But keep an ear out for a short while in case it is a genuine problem. hope this helps.

@Stevenski I was leaning towards that being the case. :hmm:But for a moment I thought maybe both. Or SSV being his word for wand. There is that whole familiarity thing when a new user mentions @DDave or 'Ddave'. If you catch my meaning.:worms: Same perhaps with 'SSV' and 'wand'.

Thank you for your response. BTW, your name is fucking hysterical. Back on topic. Here's some boring back story that may be relevant. I used the EQ as my only vape for years until about a year ago when I broke the cyclone bowl. When I broke it, I busted out my DaBuddha and I hate to admit it, but forgot about the EQ. My wife packed it away and it was only recently I decided to finally buy a new cyclone bowl and bring the EQ back to life. The room that it's in is our bedroom which is very quiet. It's laying on the floor and I never noticed it before, but I did last night. It was late, around 11 pm, and I turned it on to take one last hit of my meds. While waiting for it to warm up is when I loaded it. The only thing I've done different this time around as opposed to the last time is that I turn it off now after I'm done with it when in the past, I used to leave it on pretty much 24/7. I notice the noise even when the EQ is turned off. The only way I got it to quiet down was unplugging it from the power source. When it's plugged in, it's plugged into a power strip. Maybe I should plug it directly into the wall? I did however notice my laptop power adapter makes the same noise, just not as loud.

Finally,
I'm a dumbass for taking so long to buy another cyclone bowl. Oh how I missed my EQ. It's so much better than the DaBuddha is every single way.

ETA: What's the general consensus as far as turning it off or leaving it on? Is it ok to leave on for say 6 hours straight? I used to leave it on all day and night years ago, but don't know if that's damaging anything. What if I leave it on but turn the temp down?

Glad you liked my spoonerism of FC. :D @AEQfan
As far as the EQ. I would figure where I would like to plug it in and try to keep it there, when possible. It is sounding more like a warm up thing like I mentioned earlier. Directly into the wall might give it more amped AC?
The consensus is mostly plugged in 24/7 when available. Preheat the bowl ALAN or ALAP. (as long as necessary/possible) I turn mine on as soon as I get home. Only off when I leave the house. If you do unplug the unit for an extended period, it would be normal for some electrical noise to occur and weaker performance, Like I experienced once. That will quiet itself down and the unit did get to full strength over time. If you plug in the unit and leave it alone for say 6 hours, that might be just enough for the transformer and electrical components to warm up and diminish any buzz/power issues

Hey All, Has anyone tried the DDave adapters with any other screens?

I'd be curious to try something like this...
[FONT=Helvetica, Arial]

Also, Does anyone know where I can source some of the 304 screens?

Thanks!

A Cyclone bowl is OK, but I recommend a short DDA like the one I pictured somewhere in this thread. You will need a test tube holder as well. I think DDave sells his original type along with a holder and even some silicone tubing which is an upgrade even Arizer now sells as stock. Yep, the Q do work well and tastes mild.

Hello all I got my EQ and  it is immaculate! 1st off, I haven't found any additional features and I'm pretty sure mines is 100% legit (1 degree temp increments and such). Also I hear no buzzing or weird sounds coming from the power pack or anywhere else.

At first I was kinda skeptical because before I really sat down and had a session with my EQ after work. I made sure I packed my Pax perfectly to get the best effects, and it was putting on a performance of a :spliff:lifetime. So after fiddling with the correct temperature that I like... I based it off the Pax temp I like and added a few degrees to start... and let it warm up for about 10 min. First I setup a bag at 200C on fan speed 1. I stopped the fan after approx 1 min due to the large and very cloudy bag of lucious vapor... i was thoroughly impressed by the speed and vapor thickness (because of complaints of bag fill up time or compared to the volcano) and especially how great the bite valve worked. I assumed the real test for me would be the elbow packing vs Pax. I packed in the 19mm SSV water pipe adapter thats connects to the DDave adapter, and I was not let down. I noticed that i felt the effect much faster and harder than the Pax. And I was able to vape a smaller amount for the same amount of time. Next, I filled the :bowdown:DDave adapter about 1/3 full (or equivalent to 3 Pax bowls... i dont pack mine all the full... or approx 1 1/2 full Pax bowls) starting at 200C and let it marinate for a few..... :wave:Ding!Ding!Ding! We have a winner! I was blown away by the huge cloud and vapor density. 1st hit was more tastefully and more dense than the elbow pack (IMO). I was able to vape that bowl for about 30 min straight through I think... increasing the temp and stirring occasionally.

The only thing that I expected/ kinda missed was the little heat that that cones with some portables such as the Pax (because the mouthpiece is so close to the hearing elements). But IMO the EQ has much better vapor quality. Idk if I'm bias because I just purchased it or what but I believe that the EQ can pass a lot of vaporizers in density as well. One of my friends own the volcano and I don't believe it's better than EQ. I brought a camelbak bite clamp fits righr over the adaptor for no leakage, so no competition there. I also have another olthat owns Da Buddha and of course that's not better, but it produces great/ outstanding vapor.

Thanks for sharing that.
I own a Pax v1 longer than my EQ and I'm glad to have both! The Pax v1 is a solid conduction vape with a large trench that is great for sipping. The EQ being a convection vape with fan and low heat options that does it's business well. I only use portables when I'm out to save on the battery life and any desktop worth it's salt will have enough AC power for better extraction.

No luck with round 304 Screens @scorpioeq . But I have seen sheets of SS screen of that spec. The round ones above look loose ended anyway. If you say wanted to fashion your own.

Wait. Yours has 1 degree temperature increments? Mine is 5 degree increments on Celsius. Is mine fake? I've had it forever now.

ETA: I just found another thread that claims the very old EQ's had 5 degree increments. Mine must be one of the ones that first came out. I found an invoice in my email that shos me buying a new power adapter back in 2011. When did the EQ originally come out?

The first post in this thread was January, 2010. I bought one in April 2010 and I remember that it had been out for a short period, but had decent reviews already.

:peace:
That's likely around the time I bought mine as well. I looked back in my email and noticed I bought a new power adapter for it in early 2011, so I probably had it in 2010. Is yours also silver in color and 5 degree increments on C?

I gave it away years ago, but IIRC it was indeed 5° per click. My unit was silver (before they changed it to a darker grey).

Gave it away? :( Shame on you.
I actually gave it away to @Buildozer, who has in turn given it to another new vaporist. That EQ should be named "Johnny Vaporseed" as it has converted at least 3 different people (myself included) to become full-time vaporists. I have plenty of toys, so I'm glad to be able to spread the gospel of vapor with ol' Johnny. ;)

I check up on it from time to time to see if it's still around.. I last checked about 5 months ago and it was still going strong  It went to a good home.

Ok, well in that case,:tup:. It's always nice to share especially if it's going to a good home where it will be treated right and fed on a daily basis. :leaf:

Hi @Maine420 , can you elaborate on the new wand???

Do you mean the new all glass mini whip???

Or the new balloon mouthpieces???

Or is there a new part???

I know arizer doesn't announce these things, so the only way we know is when people buy new models...

I bought a second eq when the mini whip upgrade was released, like to have the latest model, incase it gets sensor upgrades or something. Hope I don't need to buy again..

YES-the new mini whip! I am also using it at lower temps than I used with the old EQ. Very impressed.
